The biggest thing behind me voting for v1 is that we've been on our current version of Anaxes for over half a year. Anything gets stale after that long. Rp_Anaxes is a change - It's not even that heavy of a change - but any small map change is enough to make Synergy boom; we've seen that firsthand today by reaching 109 players at 5pm EST on a Sunday. A lot of people could really use a change of scenery- any change of scenery. 

Also, Endor doesn't exist anymore. Y'all oldheads

First of all, half a year is not a long time. I would say out of every other community in CW, we probably switch our map around the MOST. Also, a bulk of that player count showed up for the action/events/encounters that were taking place, not because the event server was switched to annaxes v1... 

 

Maybe instead of everyone constantly complaining about the map that they are on, your energy could be better focused on bettering player driven aspects of the server such as staff team, overall playstyle, passive rp, gm team, encounters,  etc. You can think what I am saying is dumb all you want but it's true and you just don't want to acknowledge it. Look at Icefuse, look at Superior, look at every other CW server...

Thank you for giving a legitimate answer with information to back it.

That makes a lot of sense, however there are few maps optimized for the content on our server, V1 is definitely less optimized and will not have too much of a difference in feeling. Titan base may be the only one that is optimized to the same standard (due to being made by the same person).

i feel our anaxes atm is very rough around the edges, it’s the small things,  the brightness on the v1, the clean village made, waterfall base and the caves are gorgeous, listening post

my main issues with our map is currently after a while we have slowly stopped using the planets as much as we used to, which was the biggest pro of it, the planets at best are lackluster  Anaxes V3 is fast food it’s not perfect at anything,  but it has alot of things going for it while anaxes v1 is your specific gourmet dish it’s restricting but it’s still excellent, it’s tiny but everything in it works great

but i fully admit my bias being on the map for so long, but that was my thought process in general when deciding to choose between which anaxes to use for the event series done today

What's the point of changing it with a new map and rotation around the corner? 

If the map update is going to take a while then sure we can change it for variety for a short time (a week) assuming we see similar performance (which forseen already said we won't) 

Also keep in mind there are NO other planets (Geonosis, Umbara, Endor) which means all the stuff on main is exclusively on Anaxes which will get old real quick (you don't realize it but around 25 - 50% of the stuff done on main involves another planet) and shackle GMs to the event server which will then hurt player population because we will always split part of the playerbase on the event server 
 

Also the temple is objectively worse for Jedi (not that it's a huge deal they don't need the nicest temple ever but it may influence peoples votes)

Overall this doesn't seem like a big win to me just a change of scenery which we could probably achieve with some cleverly made dupes on V3 if we need. Not enough to make a long term positive impact but enough to make a short term headache. Open to having my mind changed if people have good points

I'd be willing to try it, especially considering we can swap it out when we do the map rotation. Put it on for however long 1 rotation is, and see how people feel about it. That way we can test out exactly how much 'worse' the map is, and people can see for themselves if it truly is as bad as some people say it is.

So if I remember correctly, we were only on v1 for a month or so? v2 came out after that with the new layout and planets, and then we switched to v3 after a few months, and that was April 1st. So it's been 9 months since we've seen a new map. I agree that v3 is superior in every way to v1, but people, including me, need a change in scenery. No matter how creative and hard-working the GM team or the players are or whatever, things need to change.
If the new map is coming within a few weeks, then I say keep it as v3. I don't want to create new dupes for everything if we're only gonna be here for that short of a time. However if the new map will take more than a month to be finished, then I say switch it. We weren't going to be on v1 for very long and yet we still switched maps from Titan base to Anaxes v1. So if we followed the same logic some of you guys are using here, we would have never switched to v1 and just stayed on Titan base while v2 was being finished.
Also, dismissing Mavelle's opinion like that is a real good look.

If I remember correctly, the "Village" outside side hangar used a whopping 15-20% of the maps space. When we were adding planets into the Anaxes Edit we had to make a decision. The decision was keep the village or add an entire planet. Hopefully that helps a bit in terms of how the map is built.

 

Edit: No I'm not joking before others ask, the village really did take up as much space as adding a planet.

I mean that's just how people work. It is very annoying I agree 100% and you are not wrong at all, but it's just human nature. People want change. And change isnt a bad thing it just can be a lot at times. Thats why I can not wait for the map rotation, it gives variety and will spice shit up

No offense to anyone that voted v1 but you're pretty retarded I remember half yall crying about that fucking map and how broken it was, there are areas on that map with the wrong step and you'll go to see God by accident. It's actually been a year. Since I joined last january we updated the temple and removed mustafar. We also added a teleporter to bcc. i might be alone there but i really dont consider that a new map.

Why not the mountain base with mountains trees forest and the base in the middle with a med bay armory BCC DB MHB but not like anaxes but like the hanger comes out of the mountain it could also have like a hangar and would be great for events specially with the mountains basically the bad batch mountain base on that planet but on synergy I would love that so much
