How do you feel your previous term went?:

I am very happy with my previous term. I feel as if I have only improved as Palpatine between the end of my last term and this one. I have ironed out many of the systems I wished to keep going from my first term, as well as helping some battalions more directly in different endeavors, which I feel was a ton of fun and so far have seemed very successful. 

 

For downsides unfortunately I had periods where I wasn’t nearly as active as I had wished. I had a good couple week period where my activity was spotty to nonexistent due to my grandmother's decline in health and eventual passing. However when I returned I was left reinvigorated into the position as I realized how much fun I had when I first started getting back to playing again, and want to continue to do so.

 

Why do you wish to remain a Supreme Chancellor Palpatine?:

One of the biggest reasons I want to remain as Palpatine is to continue to help with the implementation of Head Admins into part of working with the High Command team. When Sock brought this idea up, and discussed the process they were going for I was very very happy with the direction they were taking. Before this, As someone that has been in both High Staff and High Command, I’ve seen an issue with the disconnect that can happen between these spots. I have in the past been vocal about the difference in positions between Head Admin and Director. Going from a person that has no High Command experience, to being over all and having final say in BCMD+ applications was so wild to me. However as Palpatine I want to do whatever I can to help integrate this for the long term. 

 

Furthermore I just want to continue to work alongside my High Command team and the BCMD’s on the server to help them continue to do the work they do. I love sitting down and talking to people about issues that are arising in their battalion or faction. Just being able to discuss and bring my knowledge and experience to help point people in the right direction is something I really enjoy and want to keep doing. I feel like my ability to do this only gets better the longer I'm in positions and on the server.

What are some of your achievements during your past term?:

I feel like one of the biggest successes has been and is currently the cohesion of the High Command team. The interaction and ability to work and communicate with each other is amazing, and I’m so proud of the group of people in High Command positions right now. When I first started in my position it felt like the majority of interactions between high command were business related. I feel like our High Command is a lot more personal and work a lot better together now through the more personal relationship they all have amongst themselves. This is something I consider greatly on the application of new High Command Candidates as over the months I've learned this cohesion leads to a much more effective team. People are more willing to go out of their way to help each other, information passess more easily and through these things the server works more effectively.

 

What improvements or changes do you plan on making within the Grand Army?:

One of the biggest things I want to look at is introducing some long forum roleplay into the server. Right now most roleplay is done in events, and ends when the event is over. Very rarely do we have long forum passive roleplay that happens. Now this can be hard to keep server wide things going, but I have a couple of ideas that I think could stand out in the community as far as consistent things people think of and remember. Now I haven't talked to the faction leaders about this, as I don’t want to start it until I get into my next term, but my first Idea is Guild Related. I would like to work with Guild Leadership to set up the use of the DarkSaber as a RP tool for members of the guild to use as something that trades hands and is fought over. While the details would need to be worked out and no communication has happened, this is just an idea to show the kind of thing I want to bring. I have some additional Ideas for other groups and factions, but I don’t wanna throw too much out there until I’ve had time to talk to the faction/group leads.

 

One thing I want to touch back on is my Training Hub discord. Before I had my absence I was in the works of a couple of Ideas to help improve and make it easier for people whose job is to maintain it. I hope I can find the time in this term to look back at that after being side tracked and unable to discuss with the BCMD’s about their training.As an example of one potential solution to this could come from a more clearly defined lead position for a position at the server level, similar to CMO/COE/CFO for other trainings. Another which I’m a bit more hesitant is to give trainers access to give tags, however with how unregulated those tags are currently I’m a bit more hesitant on this idea. Regardless I want to push for something new to make it more efficient.

Only complaint is that you take things a little less serious then one should on the Palpatine job but you usually keep that isolated so it's not that bad

Conrad's done a fantastic job as Palpatine. He's done a lot of great work from what I've seen, and the ideas he wants to continue working on if made Chancellor again can only strengthen the server. Not to mention he's a kind, great, caring, hilarious guy.

+1. Palpatine is a very strong tool when it comes to in game roleplay and your interpretation of Palpatine seems to be a fan favourite. Most of us experienced players don't appreciate it as much as we used to but each one of us has that memory of someone in a cool position roleplaying with us and it making our day, and I constantly see new players in my battalion/other battalions have those cool moments with you as Palpatine and they'll cling on to that for the rest of their time on synergy. That alone warrants my +1.

I haven't worked with you personally in my time here in CMD+ positions but the HC surrounding you seems super healthy! Cheers to another three months!

In previous applications I had nothing to complain about. You're a very stellar leader, friend, and person.

Now there is one thing and i'm not sure exactly where the responsibility lies and it surely doesn't lie only with you so I figure I should put it here for now.

The way High Command as a whole has been handling some situations seems very strange I have seen this happen with DU, SOBDE, and 1 other battalion I can't seem to remember (maybe 21st).

All attention from high command seems to shift 100% to that battalion to focus on them solely. It suddenly becomes the most important thing to the whole server, to the point where GMs are being asked to do things by high command members strictly for that battalion, scrutiny is put on nearly every member of the battalion and the ladership usually feels an unwanted amount of pressure and stress to improve in areas that sometimes could not be predicted by them.

This was so much of a public affair that when it recently happened with DU many people made a meme out of it in chat and some people took the meme so far as to join DU temporarily. 

While I do appreciate the proactive approach to solve these problems I feel doing so in such a "this is a life or death issue" is a little overkill in most situations and could be better moderated by having weekly checkins, speaking with members of the battalion and overall just providing a support network to the battalion rather than it blowing up to be a big situation that like I said tends to stress members out.

Case in point was SOBDE where I had senior leadership telling me "High Command, is looking at us very closely and I don't want them to wipe the battalion" It was later told to me that Conrad had no intention of doing this but still the communication failure somewhere in the chain resulted in this rumor circulating and causing a big headache right before BCMD applications. 

 

This is something I would like to see you revaluate in your upcoming term and hopefully provide a more unified and balanced approach to handling these situations.

Small thing I'd like to bring up since it really caught my attention, I do agree with his stance on roleplay, he does definitely have a point when he says there isn't much passive roleplay before and after the event. Will say right now just to make it known if anyone needs help with creating passive roleplay don't hesitate to ask for my help if I am not busy during a day I am on. I'm sure I could start like a small comms RP or switch to a job I have like a BH and start stuff with that. Besides that, love the Darksaber idea with the guild.
