Why should you become Battalion Commander?:

 

I believe I am the best candidate for the position for Doom due to my substantial experience on this server. I have a drive to keep this battalion rolling and have a clear set of goals to keep the battalion going in a positive direction. Currently Doom’s Unit is in a desperate need of a leader, one that is willing to take the battalion and move it to the scale of activity and stability. Although I haven’t been with Doom’s Unit for the longest time ever, I have seen enough and experienced enough to drive this battalion to it’s needs and the patches that it needs to keep it driving.

 

 In my entire experience on the server and in real life, I have always been trying to help others and not being the one who will just sit there and do nothing about a battalion that is currently failing to uphold it’s standards. I have tried to be involved with this battalion for a decent amount of time due to the fact I saw it needed help with its functions whether it’d be minor or excessive. I am going to be honest with myself and my peers, Doom’s Unit is not in the best position within the server and is failing to take on challenges that it normally can tank. The battalion itself needs to work on implementing certain systems and put them into place. 

 

I am going to list some topics or things that I would fix within Doom’s Unit at its current state:

 

1. Activity: The battalion has been very inconsistent with its numbers in the past months. To me the only way to fix an inactive battalion is to have active leaders. A new recruit will not be active if he doesn’t see his superiors be active enough to be on everyday. I am willing to be present myself everyday to support my troops and to be on to dedicate myself to provide entertainment for my troops.

2. Promotion Requirements: With Promotion requirements I plan on keeping them but to an extent. I want to minimize the amount of reflecting on a document and see what you have to do and just allow them to produce their own work as they’re guided by the Officer core. I am looking for troopers that do outstanding work no matter what is listed. Now this doesn’t mean I want requirements gone but to a minimum amount, overall I will be communicating with the Officer Core on promotions and see who they see fit for what ranks, not just me deciding.

3. Fixing the Documentation / Logging: The Main Documents I currently want to work on is the Roster. During Fred’s term he was working on a new Roster for the battalion, my plan is to go back to our old roster which was less fragile in terms of coding. The new roster is all form based and automatic which is what I want to limit. Some things I plan on doing with Shield Training, this is one thing we have to update that is one of the main priorities. We have recently obtained new shields and we need to make a new Document for that training so we can provide it  to other troopers. There are more documents that need some work which I can list; Tryouts, Battalion Handbook, NCO Test(Remove it), and the current Logging Form. When it comes to logging things, I want to make the battalion less documental work and make that so only respective members who want to join an Intel Team can do so(We don’t have Intel at the moment). So my plan is to have a team that works on that type of work for the battalion. 

4. Organization: Currently the Battalion is very unorganized at the moment, somethings for an example I will provide for you; The Discord and NCO and Enlisted Functions: The way I plan on fixing the Discord goes as follows, I have talked with my current Officer core about already revamping the entire Discord as is. That being said I plan on adding some new channels and deleting some non-necessary channels that are completely stuck at a halt of use.

NCO and Enlisted Functions: What the current Functions for the NCO and Enlisted Core is just trying to get promoted and not fulfilling any other expectations. I want to try to change how the current Enlisted and NCOs think. The way the battalion has to change is by first getting rid of the NCO test. The NCO test is personally not very useful at the moment due to the fact there is no reason for someone to take a test to reach SGT when they showed their skill and abilities as an Enlisted. Another thing is making it mandatory to join a branch as an enlisted whether it’d be staying in HWS or joining something such as ARF, this allows the person to get more into the battalion and makes them look more proud of their work by going into a branch of their interest. As an NCO, I want them to have a lot of fun and look forward to becoming an Officer. I want to try and make it less documental work and form filling and make it all just fun in-game.

5. Officer Core / HC: The Officer Core is currently struggling at the moment. Po and I have already tried to look into providing more of an excellence of being an officer in the battalion. The current officer core works as a Democracy, which personally I don’t really agree with. I want the officer core to function as one unit so we can tackle down objects as one and as a team. When the past BCMD ran the battalion they had the Senior Officers act as a Commander really which I think is perfectly fine but still wanting to provide more. The way I want to change that is allow the Senior Officers to guide the newer Officers into one day being into the position they are in. Same goes for the Junior Officers to the SNCOs.

Yes, Doom’s Unit was led by Commander Doom alongside Jedi Generals Tiplee and Tiplar. They were known for fighting in the battle of Ringo Vinda with 501st and Anakin Skywalker. Within the Battle of Ringo Vinda, Tiplar was shot by CT-5385 “Tup” due to a malfunctioned inhibitor chip. Doom’s Unit was known to use M3 Bulwark Blast Shield with a Z-6 rotary blaster.

Where do you want your battalion or squad to be at the end of your term?:

 

First of all, I want Doom’s Unit to be in a stable position to where it can run with the next BCMDs to come, or even without a BCMD and rely on themselves as a team to work together to get things done, instead of always relying on Doom to save it. Also, I want the battalion to be in a position where it can be decisive enough to have the next leaders take on the obstacles that many of us in the battalion took down. I want to look forward and try to fill in the battalion back to its peak and ensure it is ready for that by the end of my term.

As well as, the battalion needs to have a stable documental system to the point where it will no longer be the main focus of the next Doom’s term. For the past couple months the Documents have been thrown around everywhere and want to finalize the documents into one place and ensure they can be used for the long run. Despite the old documents, I want to be able to have a Shield Training document ready and fully into place by the end of the first week of my term that will hopefully help the future of the battalion in the long run.

Currently Doom's Unit is in need of a Leader, and not only do I believe Slak can do the job and fix the battalion but, here's why, Throughout my experiences with you both in Naval, and in Rancor you have showed nothing but professionalism, dedication, respect and not to mention you are active, which BCMDs should be. When you were in Naval and when you were CMO, you were probably the most dedicated member to the Medical branch at the time and you revamped the medical branch as CMO. So I can see you doing the same with DU, dedicating your time and fixing it. Slak is probably the best candidature for the position. Good luck man

I recently, today, joined Havoc Squad. Throughtout my short time here & my tryout which Slak did I've seen he would like to improve the battalion and see it succeed & become active again. He shows traits such as leadership & maturity. He's a perfect fit for the Battalion Commander position and believe he'll do great within it.

I'd like to say that Slak has seen significant change in demeanor. He has done well to try and remove the stigma carried over from 41st (Past things) and is actively working on being a better person because of it. As one of his current Commanders and Sub-unit Lead. So the way I would handle Favoritism and Bullying would go as followed,

1. The way I want to take on Favoritism in the battalion, is to make sure everyone is given a equal chance at every position at their interest. If two people want to go for a position, I will ensure that they will be picked with what they show off in the battalion such as; leadership, activity, battalion relations, and overall work ethic. I don't plan on tolerating any type of favoritism and neither should the Officer Core. Whether it would be an officer promoting their friend while bypassing the requirements or myself bringing people I know as a friend in the battalion to lower standard. Any situation regarding Favoritism within the battalion will be dealt with accordingly.

2. Now with Bullying. Their has been situations of Bullying the DU before and other battalions. Specifically in DU, I plan on making sure that there will be a low tolerance level of how bullying will be taken. If I were to hear about any situation of bullying or targeting within the battalion it will be taken on with a punishment of some sort whether it would be dealt with a removal or Blacklist after the investigation of the situation.

I feel DU is in a horrible state right now. It's numbers, although on the upwards curve, are lacking and DU is in need of extreme leadership who are able to set up the key members and positions to make a battalion flourish. I have nothing against you personally, but I feel as though you are not that person. DU is in a state that needs a core leadership role of highly dedicated individuals, and you have only been in DU for (correct me if I am wrong) around a month. My fear is that you would get it and be unable to accomplish what you have set out to do and leave DU unchanged.

TL;DR I don't feel as though you are suitable to take on the massive workload that Doom would be and I don't think you are able to almost resurrect a battalion that is, and has been, fizzling out over the course of the last while.
 

Prove me wrong though. I do not doubt that you could do great things, but there lies uncertainty in if you will be able to for me.

idk if i should +1 or -1 this because I haven't really been around for give or take 2 months. I was active solidely for the beginning of maddoxx's term, but after that it was touch and go and i was pretty inactive for much of Fred's term, however, i kept in touch with some old DU members to at least get a sense of what fucked up state the battalion was in while i was inactive. That being said, I really just don't know you, so i'm not gonna +1 or -1 your app, but what i can tell you is DU hasn't been in that good of a state for a while now. When Maddoxx took over we were kind of iffy then things got better and towards the end of maddox's term there was a dip but it wasn't insanely bad, then Fred got Doom and things we're looking up, but everyone went inactive or left and Fred didn't have enough time for the battalion. I won't even mention the BS that happened during Owen's term. We had numbers and that was that. Anyway, what I'm saying is, I hope you know what you are getting into and are prepared for what will come if you do get Doom, I've served under 5 BCMDs over the past year, so I and the rest of the DU officer corps will do our utmost to help you in any way we can. Idk what to expect or if you're even fit for the postition, but I guess we'll find out. +-1 ig.
