Regarding lack of CC/CTs and the "TS rule".

Only just recently heard about the rule in were CCs have to install and join teamspeak prior to CT training and eventual introduction into the server. Just wanted to start a discussion regarding this because personally I believe this may perhaps be a large reason for lack of CCs and therefore CTs for battalions to recruit.

Only speaking for myself and a few others here, I initially only joined Synergy back in the day to minge around, yet experiencing and joining a battalion ended in me having a much more prolonged session of "fun" in the end; I know this is also how many others ventured onto Synergy. Now if I was a "mingey" CC or even just a CC who came on for a few hours to have fun, I'm pretty sure they'd say fuck it to the teamspeak download and go elsewhere. 

I know one of the reasons for the rule is to stop minges, but as of currently there is complete fuck all CTs to either join battalions or minge. Of course this TS rule is not the only factor contributing to lack of CCs/CTs, but I certainly feel it remains a large factor.

Would appreciate it if people could state their opinions on the TS rule, and or correct me on anything.

EDIT: Sixta said one of the other reasons it was added was due to sheer lack of space to join in training room.

With the current population of the server we need those extra CTs

This wasn’t implemented to stop minges. 
it was implemented because of the size of the CC room and we didn’t want trainers talking over each other while training the cadets.

Thanks, only ever heard different reasons from everyone else when I inquired into this. The point still stands I'm unafraid though. 

Now I suppose the bigger question is why are we playing a map were you can't train numerous people without being interrupted.

to clarify the purpose of this rule 

It was implemented because when CCs join a battalion they require TS, for those who are not willing to get it at the beginning are typically not inclined to continue on the server, and we are seeking members who want to RP and stick around, not screw around on CT for a bit then leave. an added benefit happened to be able to talk without interruptions of in-game people/ such as talking over each other, but that was not the main reason for the implementation.

 

Personally I dislike the concept, and think it was much more viable to train someone in-game, they enjoy the server, decide its worth sticking around and get TS  and join a battalion. I much prefer the tried and true way of in-game training, although the decision making on this rule was from @Joah who implemented it, maybe he can shed more light on it :) (idk if I hit  the core reasons it was added).

I like minges they are fun. 

If TS is to stop the minges I say we get rid of the rule and get more minges on the server. 

This way we can give CG more things to do and hopefully get a fun DB shooting.

I had no idea this is something CCs had to do, forcing the download of Teamspeak to play on the server seems dumb to me. If I was forced to download teamspeak before I even get to see what the server is like, I would dip before being trained. Some people stay, some don't, at least let them experience the server before forcing external downloads on them.

How many minges were converted into legitmate battalion members after expiercing the server, I can tell you it's alot and a story repeated across many members.
I originally joined IFN to minge on Clone Wars and if I was forced to install any program upon joining a server I would've dipped out so fast.

Not a fan of this change but you know I am retired so i'll leave  it to the current players to enjoy it how they want.

People may want to explore the server first before committing, getting up in their face about installing teamspeak in training, delaying the process, only makes them not want to play because they'd want to get into the action, and if they want to join a battalion, then they can go about joining the teamspeak.

Quick CC trainings make it easier for people to join. They should need it to join a batt

And while the TS rule does combat minges a lot, minges are not the reason for the rule i don't think. However i probably wouldn't have stuck around if i had to get in TS at the start. Back then i hated TS and the through of using it was giga dumb to me. An extra program to play a game, before i had my first good event, i would have never. Just my thoughts on early TS.

I'd recommend that those who wanna help increase the amount of players & provide a fun experience for players to join GH/GM if they're staff! We can discuss some stuff if quota is an issue/conflicts with any personal issues etc <3
