Map Change Suggestion

*I understand that a Venator Extensive Rotation suggestion was recently denied and I hope this suggestion for general rotations between two base maps is different enough to abide by the Server Suggestion Rules.*

Suggestion: Rotate the server between Titan Base and Anaxes (and perhaps additional successful base maps) on some sort of schedule. I'd suggest using the new universal discord to put out a poll or something to determine the length of rotation the community wants. 

Implementation: Simply have a VA, HA, or Director switch the map on a routine schedule.

Other: I created a post in General Discussion almost a month ago hoping to discover the reason that a suggestion similar to this (regarding Venator Extensive) had been left in pending. That suggestion has since been denied. Venators don't help the server population, it's a proven fact- and I accept that. As much as I would like to spend 3-7 days on a Venator during a rotation, I understand that the server takes a hit when that happens. With that being said, I am true to my words- I want a rotation. I want variety. Most other people I talk to would like variety as well! 

Titan Base is a good map, the different planets offer some unique possibilities for main server "deployments", it gives Bounty Hunters a little bit more ground to stand on, the base has a nice medbay, a nice generator room, and a nice BCC. It's got some other cool mechanics as well. Overall, it's an enjoyable map. But it does have flaws... There's quite frankly not a skybox, the different planets are quite bare bones and stale, and like anything... it gets boring after awhile!

Anaxes is also a good map, the big planet contains multiple outposts, caves, and a village. There's much more room for Game Masters to build massive event dupes that can be stumbled upon by patrols, and there's a large base that is fun to spend time on, and there's a skybox.

Anaxes & Titan Base are very different maps. I think the server would benefit from spending a bit of time on both- especially since at this point we've spent a similar amount of time on both maps and it's a good time to switch. I'm getting bored, others are getting bored, so let's get some variety going!

As much as I would like a new map, does anyone know if other map rotations has actually helped the server? Like brought player base up or at the least didn't make it go down?

The only rotation that has been attempted to my knowledge is switching to a Venator, which had a negative impact due to the map. But the playerbase does fine on Titan Base and did fine on Anaxes. It's about some variety in both playerbase and event making.

this is prob gonna be accepted then people are gonna forget about it but its still a +1 from me.

Yea we have a big base but it would be nice to do a change of scenery once or twice. Also tbh I want a bigger skybox ahaha im sure pilots would agree. But in reguards to going back to anaxes i think its a good base but i think a base a bit older like Endor would be a nice thing to go back to :D i loved that map

+1 Alot of people do complain of boredom admittedly but this would shake things back up a bit. Gives us the old returning home feeling and have a different style of roleplay to do again.

+1 honestly anything at this point. this map isnt even fun to complain about anymore. the fact that it has basically killed pilots alone should be reason enough to change it

+1 I like this map, but i'd like a big open base map with a big area to do things we can't do here. I love the planet system and i don't want this map to disappear what so ever, but a rotation between it and a big open map would be very enjoyable.

Although I have since resigned from the community I think adding a rotation of any kind will do more good than bad and could potentially bring back members who have left due to boredom on 1 map +1

As did we all- though unfortunately even if the map is still out there somewhere, I highly doubt it could hold up performance wise.

I was always a advocate for map rotation. It might not be a huge difference or change but the slight change and feeling in the environment can really help burn outs and stuff like that. Map changes were always the best times. Everyone is actively running around, setting things up, and people overall feel more lively for a little while. Still would prefer Base to Venator rotation but :/

I'm going to be realistic here. We once said we would enjoy a rotation, We once said we want a new map, We once said a majority of these post ask for. However, When it comes time to switch or get on a new map most of the time the player pop drops or it never happens. I don't know how many posts like this we have passed but nothing happens or it make no difference. The Community seems to want things but never strive to see that it is successful. I will use Endor, Venator Extensive, the new Alderaan map. It realistically will not work out. But please prove me wrong.

While I'm going to +1 this, my view on map changes is this.

This is an RP server, regardless of the map it's up to the players to find ways to have fun.
Most map changes that I have been in have resulted in a player pop boom for about 2 weeks then the hype wears off and people stop playing.
A new map will provide only so much entertainment unless you can enjoy roleplaying.

Pick something and stick with it, I'd suggest adding more event server maps before anything personally.

Please post any maps you guys think have potential to be a new base map. I am looking at collecting a series of well optimized and performant base maps that will be presented to the community. 

Do not worry about any flaws it may have I will test them all before deciding to include them.
