Why should you become a Battalion Commander?:
I would like to become Battalion Commander because I have the drive to become BCMD and better the battalion in any way I can. I have had the most fun on the server being in SOBDE recently and my drive to get on and participate with the battalion has grown every day I get on. I also believe that I should be the battalion commander for SOBDE because of my previous experience in leadership as well as BCMD positions. I have the entire battalion backing my decision to run for this position and I don’t want to let them down. I believe that I am a great fit for BCMD right now in the battalion because I feel that my squad which is Omega Squad is now in a great spot with members that are very promising and I don’t see them going anywhere anytime soon so that gives me time to focus more on the battalion as a whole instead of only focusing on my squad. Finally, I believe that I am a good candidate for the position because of how well I work with people on the server, I think that I have a pretty decent name for myself, and with that, I could help build relations with other battalions and people on the server to give the battalion a better image as a whole.

 

Availability:
I am starting a new job in 2 weeks so my work schedule will be 8-5 Monday-Friday so anytime after 5pm Monday-Friday and free all weekend.

 

Estimate of how long you've played on Synergy Roleplay?:
I’ve been playing on and off since July of 2019 but my hours on the server are 11,600:14:38. As of February 4th.

Yes, I do.

 

Where do you want your battalion to be at the end of your term?:
Activity:  The battalion’s current activity requirement is 25 hours every two weeks and we use a clock-in system through Discord to track people’s hours which has been working pretty well, we’ve been using it for about a month now and yes it still has its flaws because it is a new system but I plan to stick with this system because. Overall I think with the current incline of new players within the battalion our activity as a whole is growing and will continue with time.

 

Squads: I think that Squads are also in a pretty decent place at the moment. All the squad leads are full of people that I trust with running their squads and running the battalion if I were to go on LOA/ROA or anything like that. Each squad currently is either full or is one or two slots away from being full. I believe if we keep our current squad leads in their positions the battalion will continue to grow, from their activity and leadership role in the battalion. The obvious answer to this section would be I want the squads to be full and active but I want more from my squads, I want them to be actively participating with the server as a whole and doing either trainings or passive roleplay on their own to show the rest of the server how much fun the battalion is when you have the right people to roleplay with.

Mindset: The current mindset of the battalion should never be “elitist” or that “we are better than other battalions” because it's just simply not true. This is a mindset that the current squad leads have been trying to break. With that being said, where I want the mindset of the battalion to be at the end of my term is I want the battalion and the people inside of it to enjoy playing the server and enjoy working with, if not all, most battalions on the server instead of isolating ourselves. I want the people in the battalion to get home from work every day or whatever they do and want to actively get on the server and play their characters as well as make their time and the people around them enjoyable every day.

Trainings: I think training overall is something that has been lacking from the battalion at least in the past month. Our battalion of the month stats spoke for themselves and it was honestly embarrassing the amount of training that we had. So my goal for this month and for my term is to push out more training each month even if that’s just hosting an interrogation training or just a FFA in one of the sim rooms it needs to improve. Our current training quota for NCOs is one specialization training which can be IR or MED (Depending on what your specialization is) a week and our officer quota is one specialization training as well as a simulation training. These rules haven’t entirely been enforced the past month which led to our awful battalion of the month stats. An example of a way I can improve the amount of training being hosted would be to give an incentive to members (such as credits or something else closely related) of the battalion based on their statistics and overall activity based on monthly intervals. 

Roleplay: In SOBDE, roleplay is one of the biggest things we look for when hosting tryouts for the battalion. Even the smallest things.  It's a big part of the battalion and one of the big things we are known for. Recently in the battalion, the majority of the roleplay I see in the battalion is just people playing and not trying to interact with their squad.  It shows true dedication to the specific roleplay of their character, knowing their lore, and never breaking character.

Overall: I want the battalion to be in a better position than it has ever been. I want each squad in the battalion to achieve squad of the month. Squad of the Month is another system I would like to bring back, With the incentives being a credit reward for each person and an event personally crafted for each Squad. Every squad has the opportunity to achieve Squad of the Month by having the most trainings as well as their presence on the server. I believe giving incentives to people within the battalion is what is going to give us that little boost we need to be a great battalion. I believe with my activity and dedication to the battalion that I can truly help the battalion grow and become the best version of itself. If I don’t have the drive to go for another term I will then prepare someone to take my spot.

This looks awfully familiar. 

I think that its possible for you to be a good BCMD. But you need to compromise with people. Just because something is a rule shouldn't make it unbendable or absolute. Take things on a case by case basis and youll do alright. 

Yes SOBDE is special but its a battalion now. Remember that. You did good as Wolffe you can do well as BCMD.

Clutch would be the perfect BCMD for us right now. His past experience and how he fits in with the other squad leads, literally perfect. He's a natural leader and has the ability to keep SOBDE standards high. Really excited for the chance to work under him here.

I think having a strong leader in SOBDE could fix a lot of the current problems I see in the battalion, I am curious what is your stance on character swapping in SOBDE? I feel recently it has been something extremely frequent and has LOWKEY made you guys look kinda rough at some points with your image in SOBDE calling for bias . I think out of every era in SOBDE I have seen this current generation has swapped actually the most from what I have seen. 

(Still a heavy +1, I think your what SOBDE needs right now just curious on what's your stance)

Hey Bacta thanks for asking this question!

Currently the way that "character swapping" works is entirely unbiased, each person that has went from one character to the other recently has gone through the entire tryout like every other person trying out for the battalion, no checkmarks and no skipping sections they have the same odds of joining and getting the character as any other person.

Adding on to this when joining the battalion you have a 1 month time period where you cannot try out for another character in the battalion. But to answer your question I am not a big fan of character swapping at least not very often because like you said, it doesn't look the greatest but I do believe the current system works pretty well and is why I fought so heavily for this rule to be implemented.

I was Yoda for 7 days. I had some irl things going on at the time that didn't allow me to play the server and commit to the position like I thought could. Its been over a year since then and I haven't had any problems like this since then and don't plan on having a repeat either.

Hey Iceman thanks for asking the question!

One thing we have in the battalion that isn’t being used as much which I would like to use more often is “Character of the week” which is given out to people of the battalion that is an award given to any member of SOBDE who is put up by a Squad XO+. When given this award you will receive a tag in the discord, and 200k in credits. During my time in the battalion it’s only been used twice. I think giving this out more often to people who are doing the best roleplay would help motivate people in the battalion to roleplay their character.

Another way I would like to motivate roleplay in the battalion would be to setup specialization based trainings for people in the battalion. For example, get all of the tech specialist into a training and show who is the most creative with their tech RP or med rp whatever so that SOBDE members can learn from each other with their roleplay and grow.

I would also like to work with the current squad leads to have them host trainings for their squads that would promote roleplay such as Kal Skirata trainings Fi or Walon Vau training Atin. Those are just a few examples.

Before I vote do you have any other ideas or plans with roleplay in SOBDE other than Character of The Week and specialization trainings? I think that it’s definitely a good place to start but likely more would need to be done

I would say +1 for now,

It would be interesting to know if your squad is truly stable enough for you to assume the BCMD role.
As a Niner, I haven't seen you interact much with your squad or SOBDE in general. Most of the time when I see you as Niner is when you're assisting with events, which is your responsibility as a VA, but I want to make sure that you can properly balance these roles.  As well with your squad I haven't seen enough from them for me to make a solid assessment. 

I don't have an omniscient view on everything that happens when I'm both on and offline so I could be missing things, but this is simply from my view.

I cannot force roleplay on to people. During the tryout process there are a few things we focus on when looking for new candidates for the battalion and the biggest one is roleplay. I think giving incentives for people doing roleplay would be the best way to encourage it in the battalion. 

Adding on that when looking for new candidates I do believe we could be a little more harsh on the process when going over the tryout to ensure we have top of the line role-players joining the battalion. I think Warlock could be a good example of this, He got role-player of the week a few weeks ago and he recently joined Delta Squad as Sev and during his tryout he had outstanding roleplay.

Finally this is where I want the battalion to be at the end of my term and I have 3 months to get roleplay standards to where I want them and I'm sure in that time I could think of better ways to improve roleplay in the battalion.
