  1. Well this is a very tough thing for me to write right now. I’ve been with 501st for over a year now and I’ve loved every moment of it. But sadly my time here has come to an end with the boys in blue. Term is up next week on the 1st but I am leaving for a trip tomorrow till the 6th so might as well resign now. Just wanted to shout out a few people who have made my time a blast. @Drage Man we’ve been through a lot together this past year, it’s been a pleasure and I can’t wait to see what you do with the 501st! Keep in touch brotha! @Silly You are a freaking genius man and I’ve loved working with you and seeing you advance through to commander, if you ever just wanna chill and play some shit i’m always down. @Kryptos Life long Jesse right here, you are amazing man and I love how much you do to help out. Mma miss the hell outta you man! @Corey My favorite person to get drunk with and play SOT. You are always a good time to be around and an amazing role model to all around you. Good luck with everything you got going for you and I still owe you a shot night. @Hansen @Seabass You 2 are the people I am most proud of in this battalion. I remember blacklisting you guys when you first came around and now look at yall, huge members in the 501st! Wouldn’t be where we are today without you guys. Keep up all the work you guys do. @Deku Man you’re the goat. Thanks for all the chill talks and having amazing ideas and being one of the most helpful people I’ve met. @Shrimp I see so much out of you man. You really are amazing at anything you set your mind to. I can’t wait to see your future in the 501st! @shroud Man I’ve seen you go from padawan and saying that you’re gonna be Anakin one day to becoming Anakin during my time as Rex. I loved seeing the growth you’ve had and just hanging out with ya. @Phaser Goated Ahsoka man, really a good leader and helpful to me all the time. I miss your sick MC builds. @Finn Thanks for being an amazing ATK Reg during my time as Rex. It’s been such a pleasure. @Xaze You are an amazing Regimental and I am sad I won’t be Siege Deputy Commander Rex anymore :( @Atlex Man I miss seeing you around all the time, hope you are enjoying retirement! @Marvel Without you 501st wouldn’t be where it is today and I can’t thank you enough for the work you did for this battalion. @Bane Man I've loved seeing you as Cody and am sad that we didn't get to do as much as I wanted together, but you are a great guy! @Mystic Imma miss my XO Pit droid :( I definitely missed a whole bunch of people but I can’t think at the moment. Gonna miss the 501st very much, may be back one day who knows!

  2. Lmao this is not a good excuse Gmod is doing really well. Why can IFN and SUP stay afloat so well? I think it's a little embarrassing the level of disconnect from the community you're personally speaking from. You're the only person, which includes jad, who believes communication between the leadership and community is actually very decent. It is evidently not because its one of the biggest complaints players have. They never know whats happening, so the assumption is nothing is happening at all. Like even updating the trello might make us a little happier. People don't think the devs are shit at their job, people don't think they ever communicate progress. Which seems to be an issue entirely solved by using the trello. People are talking about the server dying because they care about the community and want it to keep growing. We can't always be positive when our peak player count in the last week was 58. People feel like progress on updates isn't good enough and that they're left in the dark. If this update is being worked on its clear the community wants more information about it or anything as proof. This is the only current server we have open. Synergy is a community but one built around a gmod server. People who resign from the server often rarely come back to teamspsak so there's clearly a correlation between the server pop and synergy community population. People don't join the community through teamspeak. The server is not self sustaining as players are always leaving, we cannot rely on a core base of people if everyone leaves eventually. We need new players and gmod is how we get them.

Steam Name : Neutron style Steam RP Name: TC XO Appo RP Rank: Executive Officer Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:31810178 Battalion or squad you are applying for: 501st BCMD Rex Experience: PVT-XO When my friend an I joined our first day was spent learning the server an its rules, then soon after we joined 501st,Seeing that 501st was in a state of balance becoming NCOs was enjoyable, teaching the new recruits and mentoring them through the base was something I still try to do as XO but it was always best for the NCOs and SNCOs to teach them, I would host active sims as my time as a NCO trying to keep our numbers up. Once I got WO I was focused on NCOs an SNCOs, their issues if they had any an I asked them how I was doing as their WO, mix replies but all helpful, I had spent all my time in Torrent company when our medical corps had a drop in members, I stepped down from dogma an went for KIX, soon after I was give the title of Regimental Lead in 501st and I honestly didn’t know what I was doing ,during my time I had learned every regiments training and hosted them if the lead or Officer wasn't on. Then I had to pull the solo medic for around 4 months before I appointed the best Medical lead since Atlex,I had appointed many to Leads but I always chose from those who showed the best work and determination and never showing favoritism or biases. Once I reached Junior Officer in 501st I had started to become more authoritive, punishment was something I did enforce if we had troopers out of line or minging but I tried to be fair an made up a basic punishment which I would join them in to show I'm willing to go through it as well. I would still interact with the SNCOs and NCOs and help them where I could, some would personal ask me questions an which I answered to the best of my ability. I did my best to be a role model an mentor to the troopers under me and I learned from those above me. Once Marvel became Rex everything started to getting the 501st into a better position. I assisted when an where I could, soon being promoted to Commander, I would be on everyday an try to assist on the dream idea of making 501st better, but I honestly focused on the way we acted on an off base, I had WO, SNCOs and NCOs who I could trust to take the rains of discipline, I wanted to keep the way we got 501st Going. After three more months as KIX and three months of being a Commander I would start losing my stern attituded and became lax, Atlex soon got Rex an I took over as Appo becoming TCC and my first task on my agenda was to fill TC with good troopers, I succeeded but failed in my grander plan of us being like a family, I had gotten good people and with help from Abraham and Atlex I had a good structure. Ive been working on TC since, but I have used TC's lore characters to help get others to come out of their shell an bond with the battalion, but it was joint effort of Atlex and Abraham with me that got them to be the best officers in the battalion. Now as XO I have gone back to my NCO ways and have been working on leaving TC in a better spot as well as keeping sims going an maybe a little of some randomness in there. Why should you become a Battalion Commander?: I should become BCMD because I have been helping with the battalion since I was just a SGT, I have been mature in situations that required it, I have been fair in my judgments never showing bias or favoritism. I have a good relations with the officers and working on my relationship with the NCO. Others have and can come to me with issues an would or can help where I can. I've Been know for being stubborn but only if I cant find an agreeable answer or idea. I fix my mistakes and will own up to them. I give chances to those who need them and try my best to learn an teach . Do you understand the lore of your battalion or squad?:I do Availability: I am available every day around 6 PM EST to any time after, Discord I am available all the time just be patient I'm slow with replies sometimes Estimate of how long you've played on Synergy Roleplay?: a year and 1 month Do you have a microphone?:YES Where do you want your battalion or squad to be at the end of your term?: We are still a great state, but if I can improve or at least never dropping in quality during my term, I owe it to the Rex's before me to keep the good ways going. 501st Jedi: Its ok those we have currently working on Jedi are doing a alright job, it can be worked on further. subunit jedi: Work on making other interested subunit jedi, make it more appealing Senior Officers: Nothing much to change ,only how active we have meetings. Junior Offices: Working on being mentors to Wo's and teaching them. SNCO/NCOs: There is room for improvement, Getting SNCOs to take initiative to host sims or training, NCOs to learn an host their own sims and trainings or patrols, taking event lead or lead period. 332nd: hosting tryouts more during the week, getting good folks to keep it running smoothly. Torrent Company: I have been with them an working on it for awhile, now still need to work on interacting with others an each other Regiments: The new system our REGL made has made it so we always have a Regimental trainer on, improvements could always be made but its in good hands Intel: Still the best and only gotten better.   29. The Venator is not a bad map. While my battalion did not like it, I feel this was largely due to the low effort put into events on the venator. I'll be the first to admit it, I did not like doing events on the venator. I am both bad at building and not a fan of the map myself. I ran like one pirate event with the consular class dupe. By not doing more I passively contributed to the overall larger issue of the Venator. I hate to say it, but the Venator is boring because the GM team is too comfortable running cookie cutter events and the players on synergy don't like to roleplay. We like to bhop and complain on the forums. While I agree that the way we rotated to the venator was not the best, we mostly just bitched about the venator the same way we bitched about anaxes. Few people really took the time to make something great out of the venator. I feel like it's being understated how much work Dono put into compiling old dupes and creating new ones for the Venator. Man put out and edited several high quality dupes just before the rotation was axed. He put the time and effort into the venator other people simply didn't. The Venator has a shit ton of potential. As a transitionary map between switches it would rock. I know we're still waiting for the update, but I want to get a feel for what the community thinks about doing a regular switch between three maps. Every week to two weeks, after we explore and settle in to the new map, we switch to the Venator for 24hrs then switch back to Anaxes. INB4 "Waaaaah endor, Waaaah titan," THESE ARE THE MAPS WE HAVE NOW. A lot of work was put into them, and I think a consistent switch will keep things varied enough for people to have retained interest. Anaxes is not a bad map either, the issue is staring at the same map for months or weeks on end without a break. A reduced stint on the Venator will keep it fresh and interesting, The new map won't be worn out like Anaxes, and Anaxes will break things up with a little variety. +1/-1 below

  32. I don't think there's a problem with this at all, Square and Jad do a pretty good job at updating the community on current developments. And I'd be as so bold to mention that it's not a lack of the Founder's interaction but a lack of certain members of Leadership in-general. And yes, I will state their names because it's not feedback if you hide it. I wish Dragon, Forseen, and Woeny would do better, I am primarily in channels where leadership hangs out in and they are the 3 I barely see. I'm not entirely sure what an issue is with this, Maxwells is doing a fantastic job with the development team. Jayarr is hard at work on the map whilst the model maker is probably working his ass off to blast out our packs. Nothing is wrong with Management either, it's just Sock, not a whole lot that needs to be said in regards to leadership lol. As it has been said for the past 4-5 years the server has been around, from the old Founders to the new, Garry's Mod is a dying game, we are aware that this is the case; that is why we are working on future projects to help stimulate the community's population and to hopefully bring in more members. Being a new member and seeing a forum post asking why our server is dying isn't exactly a positive thing to show people. And as for your last point, it's just a copy of the first so I won't bother on that one. Pythin and to the members of the community who are worried, as long as you hold strong and have faith this community will never die. The community isn't just Garry's Mod or any server we release, it's the playerbase and friends we have all made, and as long as you all keep coming into the Teamspeak and saying hello and making more memories, we shouldn't ever have a problem.

After discussion's with other community members, there needs to be a discussion had about the future of our community. A couple members of the community have expressed there concerns about the following topics: Founder's Interaction with the Community Leadership of Dev. / Management team Livelihood of the server Communication from the Leadership team to the Community members Now this Discussion thread is going to be used to discuss these topics, and present either your problems with each, or if you think there aren't any solutions. If you also present a problem make sure to present a solution to the issue so the Leadership team can look into it. Please do not go off topic in this thread as it pertains to Important topics. If you also have any topics on here that I didn't hit please feel free to address them
