Implementation: I would like to revamp Diplomatic Services. Well, the Diplomatic Services branch is a sub-unit of the Coruscant Guard which means there are going to be leaders of that sub-unit for example an officer(s) and a Commander. As of now, you cannot tell who is who because there is only one model/ job for Diplomatic Services, so the only way you would possibly be able to tell the difference besides the name tag is the body groupers. But at a certain point, everyone looks the same due to the majority of DS being NCO or higher. There would be one slot for the DS Commander and two slots for the DS Officer which also helps with the DS whitelist because if more DS troopers want to get on they don't have to worry about the whitelist cap which is currently at 5, which has been previously filled the past 2 weeks due to new leadership and more recruiting which then results in more DS activity.

Slots: 1

Description: The Commander of the Diplomatic Escort Group, Otherwise known as Diplomatic Services, was a unit in the Coruscant Guard lead by Commander Stone and Commander Thorn. These elite Coruscant Guard Shock Troopers specialized in escorting and protecting important VIPs and members of the Galactic Senate on diplomatic missions to neutral or hostile planets. 

Model: models/player/gideon/501st/501st_tco/501st_tco.mdl 

Weapons: rw_sw_dc15le_o , rw_sw_dc15s , rw_sw_z6 , deployable_shield

Other: The reason for a Z-6 is to make the job unique and give it a sense of reinforcement/ power in the battlefield since DS is an elite sub-unit of the Coruscant Guard. To get the Z-6 put in the loadout, I'd trade either the DC-15S or the DC-15A, completely up to the Directors, Founders and BCMD

Description: The Officer of the Diplomatic Escort Group, Otherwise known as Diplomatic Services, was a unit in the Coruscant Guard lead by Commander Stone and Commander Thorn. Weapons:  rw_sw_dc15le_o , rw_sw_dc15s , deployable_shield

Model:  models/player/gideon/501st/501st_tco/501st_tco.mdl

 

Add or Change: Change

Job: Diplomatic Service Trooper

Slots: 7

Description: Stays the Same

Model: Stays the same 

Weapons: Stays the same

Other: If possible to have a different color scheme and some details to separate the officer from the commander. And if possible the signature blue visor for all models.

This has been approved by Fox and the Current DSL (me) and Rizzo.

Another reason for this suggestion is that hopefully in the future DS could be something huge within CG like how Torrent Company is within 501st, Wolfpack being huge within 104th, and Havoc Squad being huge within DU, and so on and so forth. Mainly trying to get something going on with DS besides the recent surge in DS activity. You may ask since Stone was the commander in lore why wouldn't you assume the whitelist/ position. Well, you have to be a major to even apply for Stone, second, it's preferable that lore positions don't assume an officer position or higher within a specialization. It also gives other troopers the chance to apply for that lore position. Third I want there to be something for the next DSL's and DSO's when the time comes for me to step down, something they can look forward to acquiring and being proud to be a part of. Also pictures of the models have been taken and can be provided. I have received permission to get the TCC (Torrent Company Commander) model recolored and repurposed for DS. Couldn't really find a model under gideon base that'd fit DS so I came up with an idea and this is what it lead to. This also makes easier because it just has to be re-colored and some different designs for the Officer and Commander job. Plus it also looks badass

I think the idea and what not is great however the models you are suggesting are not on the same base as our current models therefore they wouldn't fit in at all. 

I'd recommend finding better models that match the rest of the server. TC13 is just plain ugly imo no offence but we use Gideon's base as of right now. If the models don't match then this will be denied.

I agree with what marvel said on this.

1 thing to add is that sub units depend on the agreement that is made to begin with between the battalion and the high command. Some sub units had made agreements (even though I think agreements should be open for re-negotiation) on whether it is a limited number, lore character based group, or just a mini version of the battalion with a couple of lore characters tossed in to give it "flavour".

I think this is a fine idea as long as you A. think it will improve DS and CG, and B. have the best most fleshed out plan as possible for it.

Personally I think that DS should get the heavy shield instead (since we don't even use it on the server for anything) and CG should try to get riot troopers back and give them riot shields and a modified version of the old electro staff that would work like the stun stick.

I won't vote on this just yet, however I probably will +1 it.

P.S. I gotta say, the paratroopers, marines, BARC troopers, and whatever the one in the third picture got that drip.

Devs don't do modeling so I don't know who you expect to do this...

Personally I don't think this change will really do anything. 

Simply adding a job for the DS Lead and officer won't push activity. And I don't think you all looking to same is an issue at all. 

Sure nice models can give an incentive to join but you'd need a modeller to redesign the TCO model into a CG design and pay him for it. 

Way too much effort for such a small change that I don't think would affect CG/DS that much is any way

-1. Personally I think if you remove the rank locks on your lore characters and allow any of them to because DSL and such, you would have a much stronger Sub-unit

I see the dumbs and confused reacts but i get what he's saying. The diplomatic Services tab has thorn getting paid 600c. 600c is the amount of money that is given to jobs that are leaders of sub units. Look at the Torrent Company Commander, Keller, Havoc squad brimstone ect this is true for every sub unit in the game i just checked. It looks like by just looking at the f4 menu you guys already have your DSL right there. Now for officer jobs, I personally am not a fan of officer jobs for sub units. The only other sub unit that has a job like that is 2ndAC and i don't really see it as a big pull IMO.

I think this man is right. I don't know how strict it is these days but i know a bit ago CG had so many rank restrictions on jobs someone was forced off their lore character 3 times as they moved from PVT to CMD. It might be something thats been with your battalion for a long time but sometimes out with the old and in with the new can be a huge boon to players. Not having to think about losing your job just because you get a new rank could lead to a lot more enthusiastic members joining your sub unit. Again I don't know if this has changed in the past couple months but if it hasn't I highly recommended starting with this and seeing how your battalion evolves from there.

Gonna have t -1 here

Seems like it's not models, but internal issues that are inhibiting the subunit. The models don't match the rest of the server, I just dont think this is a good add

-1, all your jobs are COL+* and for a battalion which has suffered to keep a Officer Corps for so long you would've thought you'd have dropped the rank reqs


This is an easy to solve problem that is caused by these insane requirements that should've changed a long time ago
Don't think these unnessacery jobs will fix anything but give you more empty spots

First things first, ive taken my time getting around to viewing this. Ive skimmed over it, but havent voted yet. 

 

First off, i think a lot of you have some major misconceptions about how CG is running rn and how we work internally. 
 

CG is doing very well as of late, though due to the nature of our position here on the server our numbers run shorter than most. But that hasnt stopped us from gaining a good handful of new members as of late. Our officer corps is active, things are being reworked on the HC side of things, and we are constantly trying to make improvements, especially for the lower ranks. 
 

Now, while I believe we are in a good place, this suggestion is not something I agree with due to two things.

One: The weapons. A cheaper perma weapon being put into a job is not viable on the server side of things, much less the lore end. If you want the gun so bad, save up and buy it. Pretty simple

Secondly: The jobs. DS is a subunit, yes, but it doesnt need 3 different jobs. The whole of DS was made to basically house most of our lore characters and to group them up with a smaller specialization to fit the role of “Diplomatic Services”. 
 

all in all, please be sure you have your facts right before judging a battalion
