  5. Pretty much, but there's a little more meaning to it then that. I think @Marvelput it well on the previous office of high command "So I’d first off like to say that this system would not remove the community’s ability to voice their opinions on people in applicable positions. Commander Reporting has always been a thing and will continue to be a thing whether it’s public on the forums or private with HC. Honestly something I hate is how people have qualms with a BCMD but don’t voice their opinions (at least not anywhere where it can be dealt with) until they reapply or hopefully just don’t run again. Like I also stated above this system isn’t currently entirely fleshed out. Battalions will receive a lot of say on whether or not someone stays in their BCMD position when reevaluations come up and if someone who could potentially run against someone in a BCMD position around when reapps would normally open and when we would now do reevaluations they can request an audience with High Command to request that apps be opened forcing the current BCMD to have to put up a reapp and giving the runner up the opportunity to run against them. These are ideas of how we can flesh out the system to be more efficient and how we can still include the community and keep it fair."
  6. High command will directly contact officers within the battalion. This is going to be a mandatory step before the re-eval, otherwise we could still solely go off the word of two or so high command members. If someone decides to apply, the BCMD would still be able to go through re-eval without an app. Now keep in mind, we will already be reaching out to their battalions for a re-eval, as well as using our judgement during their interview. This means both applicants will be going through an interview of some sort regardless, and it is very very possible for someone applying against a current BCMD to win over them.
  7. From the Office of High Command 10/3/2022 From the Office of the Supreme Chancellor - Jayarr ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ General Updates Good day all! As many of you were made aware from the prior office of high command, we have been looking into the concept of re-evaluation for the battalion commander position on the server. After a conclusive few discussions, we have come to a conclusion that should be both simple and satisfying to partake in. These new changes have been made easy to understand, and will be effective in what they are attempting to acheive. Here's how it is: - Battalion commanders are susceptible to a re-eval after three months of holding the position. - One week before the re-eval, applications for the position will be opened up for anyone willing to apply against/in place of the BCMD - If the Battalion Commander chooses to re-eval, they will attend an interview with their respective SCMD and MCMD (Directors discretion if they wish to attend), where they will be asked a series of questions pertaining to their current term and possible points of interest they need to improve upon - High command will have the option to evaluate based on both their own, and public opinion on whether or not the BCMD will be allowed another term This will accomplish a much more simplistic system that will allow future BCMD terms to flow through in a much smoother, coherent manner. So long as no one else wishes to apply against them, the re-evaluation system should be relatively relaxed, as it is similar in most aspects to prior reapplication systems, minus having to reapply. If this, in the long run, does not work out as expected, we are fully willing and ready to follow through on reorganizing how we've implemented the system. All this falls onto how the community acts/feels about this new system, and we are excited to see where it goes. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Question for the Community What are your thoughts on the implementation of the change? It hopefully is not complex in any regard, and is easy enough to understand. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Clone Updates Nothing much to say for clones. All I would personally like to say is that we as a community need to be leaving and impressionable impact on new players to the community. Get them in your battalions, show them a great time, take them as a new friend, not a new number, and you may be surprised how much more fun the community can be with new faces. Navy Updates Naval has nothing much to say. We are working on revamping our internal trainings to create better naval in the future. - Dono Jedi Updates The Order is slowly trying to fill positions as well Yoda is open. We have a couple of people moving up to council this week and are on the lookout for new masters as always. Jedi are now able to be Commanders in battalions which means they can join the command discord and not just be “equivalent”. Got other things in mind like the mission board and revising docs but besides that just hopefully slowly climbing back up. - Clutch Guild Updates No updates this week. Senate The Senate is in the middle of filling its empty positions, Such as Gume Saam and Jedi Diplomats. The Senate remains committed to improving its faction and is open to any suggestions from outside the Faction. Senators are also open to joining in on any entertainment or training that you are doing and happy to try new things. Lastly, if you are interested in something different on the server, The Senate Guard is always looking for people to get WLd for the job, this isnt a job that needs any commitment. - Gears ___________________________________________________________________________________________________

  12. Got something like 60ish kills the whole weekend, definitely a perk of being the emperor Aside from that, player interaction was pretty much at a constant, even in the mornings, which is saying something. Loved the new interaction with troopers and all the characters people put behind themselves, was an all around good time. @Mavelle https://medal.tv/games/garrys-mod/clips/ClB24GNPFhW60/d1337azuOkZ5?invite=cr-MSxqV1YsMjU0MDg3MDMs ^clip of mavelle murdering me in an RP situation (so rude!)
  13. This was an accident. Me and xaze were cleaning up suggestions and I asked if the datapad was on the jobs, someone in the channel said yes, then said no right after I moved it, so I had to remove it. Just a little slip up on my end Other then that, Jad's got it summed up

  16. I never claimed it was the same. Infact, I highlighted how it has made the same impact it did all those years ago, but I never said it was founded the exact same way. I am aware that it's changed, infact very much so, since I was captain of the red guard those years back and directly had a hand in how senate even functioned. Looking into it now, it is very obvious that it is not the same, and is infact why I have never bothered going for a senator position, because it wasn't what I was looking for. That's not to say that I'll push what I'm looking for as palpatine, infact quite the opposite, seeing as I mentioned at least three times that I don't want to touch the senate due to its very ideal state. I can get the confusion on this, so hopefully that was cleared up. It's never been anyone's duty but your own as Mas Amedda to look into the senate itself. The very minimum of who else garners support for the faction is Marshal and Palpatine, in which we only have one of, so you can see why it would be hard to even making an attempt to resolve this complaint. Sure, I could have approached you and asked for you to give me every detail on the senate just so I could understand what amount there is, but at the same time, this is very, VERY easy to do within the position itself, and is something I mentioned I am more than willing to adjust and adapt to in the moment within the position. I can get the confusion and/or concern here, but I've stated how you appear to be in the best state out of all three, so I see no reason to find a way to justify the means. This was due to the fact that I did not feel it necessary. My app very clearly stated my plans on how I wish to interact with the senate, and infact clarified that it's the most healthy it's been in a very long time. This lead me to believe that you would understand why I wouldn't contact you, because to be honest, it certainly wasn't needed, especially with how open I am about not needing to focus on the senate with this position. I have highlighted that both Jedi and Bounty Hunters equally need my attention and support over anything else, as the third faction has provided nothing but a healthy imagine to me. I can get the confusion here too, but it was never meant to be I apologize for not contacting you, but I didn't really contact squishy in the first place either. He approached me in TS, asked some questions, we got it all figured, and here we are. I even confronted @Clawa few hours ago because of one or two things I said on the bounty hunter section, but that was never my original intention either. It's weird to say, but I don't like approaching BCMDs and such in DMs FOR APPLICATIONS due to one fact; I want posts like yours to be seen. I want to answer these questions and I want to clarify that I'm not here to mess stuff up or reach for power. Infact, the main reason I applied for this position was to directly assist to the fullest extent I can, the player count and the activity on the server. I apologize if the whole not talking to you came across as odd, but I assure you that my intentions are strictly focused upon helping out in any way possible. I will oversee, I will improvise, and I will be here to assist you in any way possible, and hope these responses clear up the fact that you think you cant trust my communication. Hopefully I cleared up everything. When I posted this app I realized at the time of posting how little mention there was as senate, but at the same time I consciously made a note not to mention it so much, due to the point I made on the faction itself here; "The Senate The senate has been doing great, at least a lot better than I’ve personally ever seen it ever since the split, and with the help of the current Mas (gears as of the application), I’m very certain we can reach a resolve on how he has maintained it and done as fine as he has. This said, I would utilize those plans and actions he has taken to ensure it can possibly stay this way in the future, leading me to say that I want the senate to be exactly where it is by the end of my term."
  17. Steam Name: vix RP Name: Hessk || JRR-17 RP Rank: Clone Instructor (Equivalent to nothing) Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:196846752 Why should you become Chancellor Palpatine?: My goals and my reasoning behind wanting palpatine is probably as simple as it gets. The server has been backed into a corner of lackluster activity, and with positions and members of our community resigning and leaving as quickly and as suddenly as they have, I believe it’s safe to say and/or assume that having someone who can push and provide an active presence could be more than beneficial. Without going into a crazy amount of detail, a few highlights on how I wish to accomplish this are as follows: For starters, I would be on pretty much every day. Why does this matter exactly? Well, from what I have noticed over the several years I have played, every single position that can be held will always benefit from activity. Let's take BCMD. A lot of people simply look toward this position being active and present, and it’s really one of the bigger things that could lead to an active battalion, granted that battalion is functioning in the first place. Another example is RCMD. If you’re actively present in this position, you gain the benefit of people outright contacting you for any issue within the moment, which could result in a more productive and self healing outcome compared to being hard to reach via lack of activity. This is all well known by now, but I wanted to highlight why this concept may work to my benefit on this end. Next, I would like to mention that there is no open ended solution for activity as a whole, especially for the factions I will be overseeing. When it comes to the server, I mentioned how we are low on pop, and while I elaborate in my next post, I feel it is reasonable to say what will be done while we are low pop as of now. That said, the most basic way to promote activity and ensure people are interacting with each other at all times is the core fundamental of RP. Whether it comes down to getting bounty hunters to interact with clones, clones to interact with jedi, senate to push for controversial ideals in character, the sky is always the limit, and it comes down to cooperation and what ideas can be presented in the moment. Some people may not like this as the solution, but there is no denying how nice it feels to have people actively interacting and RPing with you when nothing else is happening. It creates those moments you like to hold on to, and those memories are what push people to play and continue. To quote myself on Mavelles RP check in post; “I've seen a lot of people stepping out of their shell as of late and doing their best to try to stay in character, even if OOC shit happens that wasn't intentional. It always creates super fun and memorable moments, and when people actually put the effort towards making the RP mean/lead to something, it's the most gratifying feeling in that moment and makes you wanna come back for more. That's something the server needs, that drive and that desire that makes you actually want to hop on and do that all over again.” Last is the fact that we are, in and of itself, becoming a smaller server with the rate our numbers are dropping. As a developer, this has been a major stress for not only me, but the whole team. We are always, always, actively pushing and providing content for the community and taking in concerns and questions, making sure no stone is left unturned when it comes to community feedback. Not only does this assist and add upon the server in the long run, but it pushes for that extra helping hand that will be needed. I will say it here and now, you could be the greatest palpy on the planet, but without development supporting your needs, the server will continue to plummet on its own. This is what leads me to point out that as palpy, I would focus on maintaining the current active members we have, not pushing to gain players that are, quite frankly, out of the positions control. The only thing that would allow me to gain these new players is my status as dev, and that alone has been a hard task. To add onto this, I know some may question my experience within this field, but as it stands I have been, and always will be, an avid high command player. Pointing down the post toward my experience overview, my last notable position was marshal commander. As this, I always pushed and strived to actively utilize my abilities within the position to their fullest. This means I would always seek out battalions and assist them when they were down, I would actively attend deployments with them, I would get the GM team to deploy those overlooked battalions as often as possible, etc. I even interacted to the best of my ability with the Sith faction, using my rank as marshal to double cross, do dealings with the sith, and generally assist them in making sure their roleplay was never overlooked or skipped over just because of their status. There was never a time in this position where I wouldn’t be attempting to assist or better the server as a whole. That said, I feel I can translate these prior skills to the fullest extent. How exactly I will do this will be explained later along in the post, but the fact therein lies that I have no shortage of willpower and/or ability when it comes to managing a position like this. Even to this day, I love talking high command with people like Finn and Xaze, and it’s always been a subject matter that I can never really take my eye off of. Not because of anything related to power or gain, but because of what positions like this can really accomplish at the end of the day. High command is a very strong tool that many people can and do utilize to a great extent, but I don’t aim to use this as an idle position. I want to be there every day as an active presence that anyone and everyone can feel free and open to look up to. Availability: Every day from 8am-10pm EST Give a brief overview of your achievements and experience on the server: I may have missed a few, but as a note as to why, I've been playing from December 2016 (pre-synergy) to now, mostly on and off, so it's hard to keep it all in check IC: 104th BCMD Wolffe Jedi Master (Plo Koon) Shadow Company Commander DU BCMD Doom SOBDE Regimental Commander SOBDE-SPEC Senior Commander Rancor Commander Havoc Recon Regimental Commander Marshal Commander OOC: HA, Intel Director (Icefuse, before the split) VA, Game master officer Developer x2 What do you feel the role of the Chancellor is?: I kinda spit it all out above on the first question. But as of now, its current and most fundamental role is to be present and willing to assist in any and all matters related to both the VIP factions, and high command. Paired with marshal commander, it is another vital role in the community that is no easy task to maintain. And though I may say this, I believe that it functions much more coherently and smoothly as an advisor behind the scenes (i.e. working with jedi, bh, senate with whatever issues and or problems they may be dealing with), and more of a very powerful character to be used in game. Palpatine himself could be used to encourage so so much in game. This ranges from; Events where the GM uses palpy as pivotal role, Jedi bringing up their issues with palpy IC Palpy acting as a morale boost on base, and almost being a nuisance with how much danger he puts himself in Palpy acting as sidious to making dealing with ranking members in bounty hunter, whether it is to take care of troopers or to encourage more lowkey encounters Now, I have already stressed several times how much of an RP position this is, which may be concerning for some because they may not like the approach of an “RP heavy chancellor”, but that is exactly my answer to the question. Palpatine is a major figure on the server itself, just as marshal commander is, and not just for the fact of RP, but because of his ability to oversee and assist anywhere and everywhere he is needed. This more-so applies to the factions ever since the changes, but the point remains. Do you have a microphone?: Yes Where do you want the Jedi, Senate, and Guild to be at the end of your term?: Keeping things realistic, two of the factions are very very self-sustaining. The Senate The senate has been doing great, at least a lot better than I’ve personally ever seen it ever since the split, and with the help of the current Mas (gears as of the application), I’m very certain we can reach a resolve on how he has maintained it and done as fine as he has. This said, I would utilize those plans and actions he has taken to ensure it can possibly stay this way in the future, leading me to say that I want the senate to be exactly where it is by the end of my term. Jedi The jedi order is a tricky game. When I said two of the factions were very self-sustaining, this was the second faction. Fundamentally, it is simple to maintain, yes. But there have been countless issues with people butting heads within the order itself, leading to a lot of structural collapse. However, that said, I think squishies order has been the best I have seen in quite some time. This is not to say there might not be flaws, I’m certain there are some that I may not be seeing from an external perspective, but that all roots back to the fact of how versatile and available I will be within the position itself, that I don’t see this as a concern. If anything, I wish to see the Jedi order in an active state, with at least most of the branches filled out in terms of leadership and some extent of branch members. The council itself is perfectly fine right now, and that’s how I’d hope it stays near the end of my term as well. Between the council and branches, these are two core functions of the order, which are able to push it to a more active state. Bounty hunters This is a tricky topic. As of now, my main issue with this faction is how it is looked down upon. And there is slightly valid reasoning behind it. Currently, from an outside perspective, this faction is perceived as “RDM for promo’s”. While I know this is not true by any means, and there is no reason to make a faction surrounded by the concept of killing people avoid this, I think there is definitely a way to at least push this back to some extent. I know claw has mentioned how he aims to fix these issues, and it truthfully has been getting better, but I personally would love to work alongside him to assist the public image of bounty hunters to the fullest extent. This could thrive from ideas such as more passive encounters with clones/jedi/senate providing rewards within the faction, to better pushing and striving for clones, jedi, and the senate itself to contract the hunters, make friends with them, don’t just turn them down the second you see them. I’ve seen a lot of value and roleplay come from the faction behind the scenes, and if you paint the bigger picture with multiple factions interacting with each other, the end goal of what I’m wanting to push for this faction could be great. How do you plan to improve relations within the Grand Army?: I presume this question means WITH the GAR, instead of WITHIN. Honestly, I’ve just highlighted these points in the question above. We need interaction, and there is no way to sugar coat this answer. That is the only fundamental issue with these factions interacting with clones as a whole, is that shell that they don’t push out of to better themselves. I don’t even think this is a fair question in the long run, since this isn’t something you can merely plan for. Interaction varies and changes on a day to day basis, and it’s not something someone can so easily wave their hand to fix. The only big thing I could push for this in my favor is the fact that all these factions, every single one of them, can push for something to happen during downtime via simply talking or RPing with each other in game. That fact in and of itself could not only revitalize how these players and factions view each other, but how we as a server operate in the long run. How do you plan to improve relations within the VIP factions?: Same thing as above, really. I think, at least I’d hope, that through this application I have made it very clear that I want nothing more than interaction. It’s what keeps our server going, it’s what keeps players on, it’s what creates memories and charm. All this is something any faction can do, not just the ones we currently have. This said, I know this may not come across as a “clear cut” answer, so I’ll give a very brief answer to this question; To improve relations within the faction, I simply aim to get one to one interactions between factions going. Maybe not even one to one, some of these sort of mini stories or events I would help host could span across all of them. From hunters taking commission from senators for political gain, from jedi using the hunters to their benefit in tracking down potential force users and/or figures in distress, the list can go on and on. Relations naturally will rise between one another the more this happens, and it gives people more and more of a chance to get themselves out there and push to interact with others. Do you understand that if you go inactive that you will be removed from your position?: Yes Do you understand that your position has a three month term limit and you must reapply after three months to maintain your position of Chancellor Palpatine?: Yes
  18. I would like to mention this; I know it's hard to do, and it's a hard push to force yourself to do, but if you see 15-20 people on the server and don't join because "it's gonna be boring", that is the biproduct of what's reducing our player count. By not getting on in the mornings or not making an effort to at least AFK over night, we lose a major major foothold over player pop and the one thing other servers have over us. Yeah, this'll produce the mindset of "oh, i don't wanna play because x amount of players are AFK", but that's heaps better then us brushing off joining at all due to the fact that no one is on period It's all up to you guys at the end of the day, but next time you see pop so low, maybe jump on and help us out. We need everyone we can get when we're so low on pop, and even if you're not gonna play, you just being on is more of a help then you can ever imagine.
