  1. wouldnt really be viable, the venator extensive map has protection if anyone attempts to decompile it, so even if i were to touch the map, it'd all be completely wrongly sorted and textured as for onderon, i swear i put interactable maps around the base, but im not sure if they still exist
  2. crazy how much stuff from this battalion seems to have slipped passed y'all when it was being made! +1, i tried to stylize it and it obviously didnt work out for everyones interests
  3. this was basically what i was gonna do if this suggestion passed
  4. Things like trees and rocks won’t matter, they’re props and the limit on those is significantly higher. Things in the base, like the glass areas and so on, are really some of the only viable areas, which shows how limited we are. Among other things, the outpost and the one round bounty hunter building are the only structures to utilize brushes outside of the base, and I highly doubt either can be removed, so it’s a bit of a touchy area unfortunately. The base would ultimately need radical restructuring to possibly avoid the issue
  5. I'd like to clarify something before y'all go bananas with the map suggestions I wanted to add a citadel, believe me, but theres a reason it didn't make it: The map has currently hit a very very fine line on its brush limit? What does this mean? Think of maps like legos. You build the walls, the floors, the ceilings out of blocks and other shapes. Source has a hard cap on the limit of these legos (brushes) you can use to build your map. We're not quite there yet, but we're something 40-80 brushes away from being there, which is not a lot of wiggle room at all! Soltuion? If we want new rooms/areas, something will have to be downsized or removed. It's inconvenient, but its just how source is. I've been bashing my head at a recent map project because I've hit the brush limit there too. It's annoying, and I wish gmod was on source 2 because of it Proof I was in fact about to add it before it hit the brush limit. This was the anaxes one btw, I just cleaned up the textures to fit the base
  6. I got an apology as well, but I was never associated with Seabass, nor have I ever interacted with him. He brought up points about what I mentioned on thorpys appeal, and once again, not having ever talked to him, I find it hard to believe it comes across as genuine in any sense. I don't hold any quarrels with this group of people, but I do heavily dislike what they did. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That being said, might as well drop my vote in here. Everything I said on thorpys post holds true here. I apologize that it has to be this way, but as mentioned on thorpys application, no manner of forgiveness will remove the stain of what you did and what you showed to other people, including a handful of minors that did not need to be exposed to it. If thorphy didn't post anything, you did. I actually recall you doing so in the command discord, which @Woenywas there for. You've done other things, like the video mazen posted, forms of harassment, etc etc, and I just don't see how people expect that you've genuinely changed for the better within no less then two months. It is also seemingly funny to me that all of you decided to appeal within a general timeframe, leading me to believe you all have intent to come back to the server as a group, which just scream dishonesty and toxicity to me. Perhaps my logic is flawed to some, but I cannot forgive what's already been done, as mentioned. It's a mixed appeal, so I wish you luck. This is no personal quarrel, as I said, I don't know you. Just what you did. -1
  7. I strongly believe the civilian faction needs a much more firm hand then it's being offered. PvP, while in theory seems fun, will lead to a spiral of toxicity in the community between the civilian faction and the republic. If you want the civilian faction to have a chance to make an impression on the player base, then you need them to have access to in game functions that will increase how they operate ten fold. Examples have been offered in the past, and shrugged off as "too darkRP" by some, but what should be discussed maturely and in a spotlight is the ability for civilians to work in all sorts of fields. Selling weapons that could possibly last as long as a day, making and distributing stims, and other things that do infact take notes from DarkRP. Why is it a bad thing to take notes from darkrp? There is a reason it's on top. It has core functionality that adds a level of grinding to a server, and can make certain jobs fun or exciting. I can tell that you all have a very weird view on darkRP features, and what you all probably have coming to your minds is an RDM, minge filled server. Are we that? Will we turn into that by granting civilians access to core features that can only improve their faction? No, no we won't. This issue is both rooted in development, as much as it is the people willing to step up in the faction and bring something unique to the table. And even still, they can't really do that when they don't get any support on both an infrastructure or development end. Civilians as a faction have so so much potential. Then again, this all may already be happening. I don't play, I don't know how they're doing or what they're doing, but I know how bounty hunter used to be treated, and if it's still the same way, it won't stand a chance. But back on topic, PvP at thesh isn't a good idea. Just bring back dueling or something if you wanna fight people, hell, there's still dueling arenas on the map and a dungeon that's likely not being used much!
  8. If you could try deleting any files in your maps folder in your game files, that'd be awesome However, if you've tampered with your files, i.e. deleting everything in all your folders as mentioned, then it boils down to a connection issue. This is either simply your internet being faulty, or to something deeper. Example being, FastDLautomatically hooks to your systems default/build in browser. This would be internet explorer, or for windows 10, microsoft edge. If for some reason any of yours browsers are set to offline, find a method of ensuring they stay connected and online. This piece of information was available in a quick google search, and I can't verify that it's related to your issue, but there is always a possibility. The thread I mentioned above also provided an alternative solution. If nothing above worked, try adding this to your \garrysmod\garrysmod\cfg\config.cfg cl_allowdownload 1 cl_downloadfilter all download_debug 0 sv_downloadurl "" Hope any of this info helped, I do get a kick out of solving these issues, presently playing the server or not
  9. -1 I'm glad you changed, and you seem to show quite the extent of maturity over the matter. But to me, that does not excuse anything you and your group of "friends" did at that time. I've read your response to mavelle, and while I appreciate the sentiment, you participated in an act that in my eyes is completely unforgivable. I'm sure many people on this thread have seen some form of gore or scarring video on the internet, and you all should know how that sticks with you once you've been exposed to that. Now, imagine your a kid trying to play star wars RP because it's your favorite piece of media, and you decide to check in on the battalion discord or server discord just to be exposed to a gif of someone blowing their head off. Guess what? That child or teen is now going to remember that for the rest of their life. Your other acts were just edgy teen bullshit which is easy to excuse, but whether or not you were somehow "forced" to post an image over the internet or not, you've already left your mark. I don't care how "beta" it may sound, but it has to be said what you did is something I guarantee you some people will never fully get over. I hope you realize the weight on your shoulders of having exposed people to that content. It's all just my opinion, but forcing that onto someone for their life should not be, or IS not, excusable in any way. No hard feelings, I don't even know you, we talked like once or twice. I just know you from your "joker arc" as someone would put it, and I can't form any other opinion based off that.
  10. These are all cools ideas on this thread, but none of them really grasp what I think xaze is asking for. Bonzai was closest to the mark with the custom weapon base, as all clone wars server use TFA, which provides little to no depth in terms of user experience. What ultimately would benefit player income for the server would be as Xaze requested. Unique, player driven ideas that have not been utilized on any of these top servers who are just constantly pumping out the same mind numbing corporate level content. Think about what would happen if we came up with such ideas and merged them into the completion of a fully custom server. If you were able to advertise all that custom content, there would practically a flow of new players due to the new content they were able to witness from say, a trailer, or a teaser. If I had to provide an example: Things that change the core of what SWRP is. Lets face it, Helix was an awesome change, but that hasn't fully driven the playerbase away from the darkRP roots star wars RP is so known for. Things that could push the server in the same direction Helix aimed to push it would benefit the community the most in terms of refreshment and player income.
  11. Don’t worry, I’ve already been told several times that most the models look like shit. Happened with GM as well Its just a simple mishap in the material files, easy to fix
  12. You don’t need to play to know when you disagree with something. Plus, past experience always counts. Don’t take it for granted just for any easy excuse to ignore an opinion. As for the change, I completely understand it. I see a lot of complaints on this thread, and while most valid, I can’t help but wonder; what do these removed sergeant ranks mean to you guys in the first place? I’ve seen the argument that they are simply promotion stepping stones, or even ranks that add “validation” to the work you’ve done. But will you not now receive an even bigger rush when being promoted for your work, due to how scarce the ranks are? Will you not feel as if you’ve achieved a much more meaningful promotion now that others are being thwarted in your place? For a server that has done nothing but cause drama over who has what power, who is being useless in their position, who you hate, who you love, this change seems awfully close to the mark on what you all seem to strive off. I can personally see plenty justification for this change in the current state of the server, even. You guys are dwindling in numbers as more people move on, and as you struggle to maintain that constant, it’s only smart to start making changes the cater to the 40 or so of you that consistently play. Funny, the only time you guys seem to rise above the mark is when you wanna argue on posts like this, which tend to get more people posting then actually playing. Hey, I’m guilty as charged. Now, back on topic, there are two big issues with this change. First and foremost has been mentioned often enough, but the a lack of communication is utterly insane. I assure you, had you posted a high command poll, you all would have reached a resolve down the middle. Now, no one will see this post at face value, and you’ve rightly painted a target on your backs for a very big mistake. Second, is the common player. Admittedly, this change hinders anyone with no prior knowledge to Star Wars RP. They’ve successfully moved from those little guys who are taking in everything, to bottom feeders who have to get in line in their trek towards progression. Those new guys will need to pour a lot of dedication and time in if they want to get anything meaningful over their concerningly high gmod numbers now. With all that said, I apologize for the passive aggressive tone, but this entire thread is completely hilarious from the outside. I realize what’s at stake, which is your ranks you’ve grinded so hard for, but this is the biggest step towards achieving both something unique and something that benefits a server with such unstable numbers. Give it chance for a few days or weeks. Doesn’t work out after that time? Now start grabbing your torches and pitchforks, because you’ll have actual evidence and validation to these claims. I’m not saying some of you aren’t justified now, as I said I see a lot of good points, but everyone here is so hot headed. Relax, talk to each other.
  13. because locking a battalion (meaning not allowing anyone in it period) and revamping a battalion (trying to get more people) are really similar
  14. i think the delete button on the keyboard was made for this reason
  15. +1 to the GM app. Mazen was one of the better GMs, so preventing him from actively stepping into a position to help the server would be a shame, especially if its based off drama in the past that honestly isn't relevant in the current state of the community
  16. I don't get why no one is saying anything when there's obvious outcry against the decision. I'm not one to care, this was something I was going to do when I was palpatine, but wasn't around to see it through. The fundamental concept was not to force the senate to respond to the guild, but to line themselves for a concept that I was going to oversee in the future; a civilian approach to bounty hunter. I have no clue if that's what they're eluding to now with this post whenever those above keep saying "future plans", but I thought you all would appreciate the knowledge that resides within that concept. Senate would work as it's own as it always has, and civilians would have three paths to pursue: Sticking to basic civilian RP, no need to move in any directon Moving to a senate/government focus, working to promote more passive RP, just like the senate has already established as their strong point Moving to a more hostile side, which is bounty hunting and such As stated, no clue if that's their plans now, but that is what I wanted to do when I was palpatine, which makes it all the more funny to see this happening now. I'm glad it is happening now, don't get me wrong, but to shove something like this out when you plan on fully releasing it likely weeks or months down the line is just kinda silly. I was gonna deal with the demotion when the changes were put into effect, not a large sum of time earlier. Feel free to shit on me if I'm wrong, but saying something to people who are mad is better then just letting them guess at what you're doing for the future to come.
  17. You've come to be one of my closer friends on the server, and it'll stay that way outside of the server too. You did good in the positions you were in, no matter what shit people have to throw at you. You put your all into your BCMD and regimentals terms, and I feel you would have been at the top at a different time on the server.

Feel free to add onto this
  19. After a few weeks full of contemplation, I sit here now writing this out with confidence and a calm mind. It was a was year ago this month that I made my return to this server. But it wasn't quite what I was expecting. I didn't know anyone, and barely anyone knew me. Times had changed so drastically from when I first made my mark on star wars RP all those years ago, and it was something I wasn't quite ready to face up to. That hesitance wasn't something I lived up to, though. As I caught up with one of the few familiar faces, that being the founders, I realized that maybe a different approach was laid out before me then I had initially thought. Through talks with @Square, and after having already started working on a new map, I was picked up into the development team, where nothing short of an amazing journey started, and is now ending here today, on a much lesser note might I add. People like @Mazen when he was cody were quick to pick up on me becoming a Developer, and while I didn't quite know who bacta was at the time, he ended up forging into one of my strongest connections and one of my closest friends on the server. I have a whole group of friends now, which I quite frankly lacked coming into this server. That is what I will take away from all of this, and what I can strongly familiarize myself as an accomplishment. As for my time as developer, it was nothing short of a rollercoaster. I've faced some hardships, but too few to count as an experience I won't remember. Things got caught on the upswing only four or so months after I got developer, where the team started coming together, starting with @Xaze. There is no better partner I could have asked for when it comes to development, and often times we were able to see eye to eye on things we both agreed and disagreed with. It feels unjust to leave the team at the current state the server is in, but I've played my hand long enough and delayed this resignation for months, as I'm sure @Jadremembers from one conversation. I likely wouldn't still be here if he didn't convince me to stay. As for the position I hold on the server at the moment, I quite frankly do not care. I've become palpatine to implement changes, and I've seen some of them through. I had bigger plans, and I regret that I couldn't quite touch up on all the factions to the extreme I wanted to, but all things considered, I'm not going to be holding an in game position higher over how I feel in general. Life's a hard game to play, and I've been out of it for too long. I could surround myself with the fantasy that is star wars RP for much longer, but I've dumped seven, nearly eight years into this. I don't want to reflect on that when I grow to be older, I don't want to ponder in a saddened way about how I wasted near a decade my life doing something the inevitably never lead to anything for me as a person. It's a harsh reality, and while I've not been able to come to acceptance about it before, I've forced myself to this conclusion for the betterment of both my health, and for me as a person. What ill-will I may have will stay out of this post, as I've said it loud and clear in the places I think matter. I don't tend to shout people out, because those who matter most to me will still be hearing from me often enough through discord and likely TeamSpeak. I wish you all luck. I'm glad to have helped where and when I could have. "Regrets, I've had a few But then again, too few to mention I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption I planned each charted course Each careful step along the byway And more, much more than this I did it my way"
  20. From the Office of High Command 10/3/2022 From the Office of the Supreme Chancellor - Jayarr I'll make this brief, because our last check in wasn't really even a week ago. We're shifting around how regiments work, and the reasons for this change are pretty simple in the long run. As of last week, we have raised the standard of a BCMD by adding re-evals. This week, we'll be lowering the expected workload of RCMDs by giving them only two battalions to look over, as well as adding the fourth slot. This isn't to say that RCMDs won't be held to their current standard, just that we aim to reduce how much one has to worry about. Additionally, if any of you don't like the current regiment your placed in at any point, high command will be more open and willing to swap things around with this new system. That's not to say you can go an say "I want to be in this regiment NOW!!!" and you'll be put there, but you are a lot more open to be moved under high commands watch. So, what are the new regiment structures? 1st Regiment (Finn): GM ; 501st 2nd Regiment (Meow): 104th ; 41st 3rd Regiment (N/A): CG ; 212th 4th Regiment (Lyonaxis): Rancor ; DU Rotating (starting with 1st regiment): SOBDE Do not take these at face value. Remember the whole reason regiments shifted around in the first place; because we want you all to be reaching and extending outside of your own regiments to find interaction with others. You are the sole reasons and causes for what interaction can be found and made on this server, and I hope you all find a way to talk with eachother and generally interact more with these changes. Lastly, what is rotating? Rotating is the concept of utilizing a specific battalion, in this case SOBDE, to shift between which regiments need the most support and actively assisting pillars in the community. SOBDE is a very strong link in this instance, both due to how they are run, and how their outreach already works. They'll have a strong headstart in kicking things off for rotations, and they'll be moved around as high command see's it needed, which in all honesty, likely won't be often.
  21. +1 People willing to join this team would be much more excited and available to do events in a constant, compared to those who are forced to right now. This also allows for higher quality staff members, as the bar will raise ten-fold. Giving the community another branch to put in some work without having the stress of staff would be amazing, and could possibly be one of the top solutions as of late to fix our server pop.
