  1. 7/10 Going by rating scale. Banning permaweps (for at least BH) was probably a bad call because our kits are just awful and we were going against NPCs with massive health pools and T-21's, clearly outgunned. You seemingly had the manpower to have decent spawning so I'm mostly confused as to why the enemies were so beefy. EJs were able to use equipment like flamethrowers as well which further adds to the disproportionate power scaling between players/enemies/EJs. Seeing 21st get bodied by an NPC beneath the floor was an obvious gripe, but one you addressed. CG should have been the ones to save the Vice Chairman since their focus is protecting the Senate. The 21st should have been out doing something else in that moment. Other than that... eh, nothing else. Map choice was kinda confusing I guess. Stix got his jetpack blown up 4 times lmao
  2. Please message a Guild Marshal, Lieutenant or myself on Discord or TS if you have an issue. Complaining on the forums solves nothing nor does it help things improve. For my vote, I was basically acting as a trooper with a medkit since I was following some dude around and healing him as a BH Medic. I can tell you put more effort into it than the average and the spawns were fair to the players. The only thing that was weird was B1's holding DC-15A's but that didn't contrast from the fact that the event was very inoffensive and did things right. 8/10
  3. This, basically. I just don't like the new weapons and movement constraints. I miss when the 15A and 15S were actually good weapons. 15A was always 100% accurate and still fired relatively fast 15S was slightly more inaccurate but fired stronger bolts at a faster rate AND THERE WERE NO MOVEMENT CONSTRAINTS ON A LIGHT FUCKING CARBINE! LD-1 was the shit back in the day because it 3 shot people on the old stats but you could realistically beat an LD-1 with a DC-15A. Now we have snipers that 1-2 shot and scoped weapons completely dominate in all instances except for the 90 dollar wiener-chopper. Unless I was fighting a mad powerful EJ, when I died, it felt like it was my fault. Do I still have these instances? Yeah, I play like a retard. But I have far more instances in which I feel like my death wasn't deserved because I tried to fight with a class weapon (usually my IQA-11c, a 3-shot sniper). So I just started using the scattergun which people still cry about occasionally. But they're usually using a WESTAR-M5 (which still has no downsides, btw) or some other thing so they can't really complain. The thing that I really have a love/hate relationship with is armor. Back in the day, armor didn't matter. You could walk around with 500 health and zero armor and the Galactic Marines never dropped armor anyway because they stunk. Now, armor is probably doing more work keeping you alive than your HP is. If you take a hit to your armor, you'll live. But a lot of the snipers do 300 damage so you'll be fucked if you run around with no armor. I like this because it actually makes armor have a point but I also hate it since there's no reliable way to get armor other than support troopers. And they usually just wanna fly their TIE fighter dupes anyway. I also wish that pistols were more viable. I wanna be pistolero.
  4. +1 Your lack of culet makes me want to slap you on the ass. Only issue is that Null Mando models might not look that good in comparison. Not that they're bad but the BH pack just has models of better quality. You're gonna stick out for a while.
  5. Tentative +1 Used to hate this, not as a mechanic, but because I originally came from PG and I thought that the addition of CLIMB_SWEP in stuff like tryouts was a stupid and unnecessary thing that people needed to learn to advance in a roleplay server. Too often did it over-complicated getting into certain positions (RC before their revamp, Green Company, ARC troopers) because they would judge you based on how good of a climber you are in some crazy complex course dupe rather than what you could offer in terms of RP. But I can see it as advantageous for situations in which you need to use a grappling hook or something like that and it does beat b-hopping. It is fun, don't get me wrong, but the server needs to be careful that they don't get obsessed with it in terms of advancement.
  6. 7/10 The premise was built very well and you clearly had a plan for it but it seemed like your EJ failed to adapt to multiple situations which resulted in him getting killed and then complaining about it in debrief when you couldn't be around to give it yourself. I was ordered to search his body by a Commander after he was downed by zombies. Kind of goofy, but orders are orders. He then sent me a PM telling me "No but a med revive would be nice" or something along those lines, essentially telling me "No, you didn't search me". When he was inevitably med revived, the same Commander made an attempt to further the RP by doing a bio-scan on him and attempting to initiate a quarantine protocol because he was wounded by one of these "experiments". He was surrounded by a small circle of people with guns pointed at him and he told us almost verbatim, "No, you're not arresting me, fuck you" and ran away. He was either a very good actor here, or he was speaking OOC and going against player choice. I know better than most people that player choice can sometimes be idiotic, but in both these situations, he could have been creative or gone with the potential for RP that could have made the event more memorable. Overall, good event, and these things happening didn't much take away from this, but make sure your EJs are willing to adapt and don't get miffed when things don't go their way.

    bud moments

@BudI severely wish you did at least one more Batwoosh event before you left. Or at least one where we got to see the return of Lord Disappointment's disciples. I feel like the saga wasn't complete.
  8. +1 Metro is honestly one of my favorite people on the server. He's calm, collected, passionate and always willing to drop encouragement. Not to mention he has his credentials. While I definitely disdained the changes, I'm no longer in SOBDE and have come to accept them. I think he'd be a great fit for SOBDE moving forward. He's the best possible option and the one they deserve. Just has a bad habit of "going to get milk and cigarettes"... so hopefully we get to see him stick around!
  9. Gay son, a thot daughter would be a headache. At least with a gay son, I know most of the drama involved other people being stupid. With a thot daughter, everything is her fault, lol.
  10. A lot of stuff I would have said is something that's been said already so I'm not going to circlejerk further, but I do have a solution that could bring some passive RP. Continuity. The Gamemaster Team, bless their heart, does whatever they can to bring us the best possible events they can muster. The only problem is that they can only do it in the moment. In some servers (I can think of one in particular), the Event Planners occasionally have these large-scale operations that can completely change the lore of the server. Just imagine, Game Masters introduce you to this Clone Commander (let's say it's someone like Mexico because he was really close). This Commander starts to assert himself more into the GM's main server events until everyone starts noticing a pattern. The Commander then has us being sent on several deployments that turn into a campaign with a rich story and expands over a month or so, and then it all ends with one big operation in which that Commander dies. People get attached to consistency because people are creatures of habit. This is all event stuff, but imagine how it would affect everyone who cared to follow that kind of thing. Maybe they would arrange a passive RP funeral for this Commander in his honor, maybe the clones would have conversations about him and how they either miss him (or if they're edge lords) don't and think he deserved to die. People will probably read this and say that the Synergy playerbase doesn't care, but that's not true because I've SEEN it happen before in the old days with Avavel's character "Admiral Lok". It was a big deal when we thought there was an event where we finally got to kill the fucker because he was so incompetent like a cartoon super villain and would always escape at the last moment. Everyone loves that shit, if you give them a reason to care and not just pop back into status quo, people will adore the prospects of passive RP. Even edgy ARC troopers that b-hop at 90 miles an hour.
  11. This may not be the response you want to hear, but a lot of it stems from what you do as a Republic Mercenary. And even then some people are still going to act abrasive regardless. Jad was the first person to use the Friendly Mercenary whitelist, but I was the first person to actually buy it and go through due processing to really be recognized as an ally on the base. Even then, one of my first experiences was being followed around by a confused Sergeant who screamed at the top of his lungs when I told him I didn't need to show a base pass. The best way to go about it I think is to keep Republic Leadership informed on who's not going to try and shoot you in the back. The community tends to take things at face value so I think communication is in order. We already have the "base permit" system that you can use to be allowed on-base for an extended period of time and that's given out by Republic Leadership. Something I could do is lower the requirements for this because it's currently only usable by Regimental Commander and above when the place it actually stems from allows CMD+ people to join. Commanders in my experience seem a bit more grounded with the lower ranks because their busy work almost always seems to be on the field. If a CMD can allow base permits then his subordinates will look at you with a bit more respect because he can tell them (either in-game or in TS) "Leave him alone, he's on our side". For now, here's what you can do if you're interested in becoming a Republic Mercenary: 1. Use the Friendly Merc job. Job RP sucks, but again, people take things at face value. 2. Save your more neutral/hostile actions for one of your "aliases". It's a system we have in place that you can use to create multiple characters and not get RP repercussions on your primary one. 3. Contact a BCMD+ and set up a partnership/contract with them. This will also give you the Republic Mercenary contracting benefits. 4. Secure said partnership and get your base permit set up by a Regimental Commander. A lot of the RCMDs are chill and don't mind doing this for you. 5. Keep your conduct in-check. Seems like a repeat of #2 in a sense, but ultimately your actions are going to determine how they're going to treat you. Once I can work on the BH reputation a bit, this may be easier, but until then this is the best way to stand out in a system where everyone thinks you're going to RDM them. I hope this helps, bud. If you want to talk about this in more detail, even if I'm not on the sever, I'm always available in Discord/TS.
  12. Steam Name: you are loved and valued RP Name: Rad Thekk RP Rank: Guild Lieutenant SteamID: STEAM_0:0:54192568 Experience: While I have a decent amount of Leadership experience on the Republic character side of things, I feel a full run-down of everything I’ve been isn’t necessarily required because it bloats applications. I’ll list below the things I think matter. Commander (CG) Executive Officer (CG) BCMD Fox (CG) x2 Guild Cabinet Member x2 (Before and after reorganization) Guild Lieutenant When it comes to BH itself, I’ve been the primary figurehead behind initiating new systems that disallow toxicity and have personally innovated much of what’s available today. Some of these things include the inventory system, VIP instant access, CIS mercenaries, much of the Republic contracting system, Guild Spies, etc. Why should you become Guild Leader?: If you read nothing else, read the paragraph below I’ll go ahead and get something out of the way that may or may not come up as a question in the comments, and that’s my opinion on applicable positions as a whole. While I’m not exactly a fan of them, with my upcoming busy schedule I feel that Guild Leader is one of the few leadership positions I can safely represent on the server without issue as a lot of it is background work in my experience and I’m very good at distinguishing duties down the chain of command. Honesty is the best policy here, and while I’m not a fan of the overall mindset when it comes to absolute leadership, I am a person who enjoys the Guild and wants to see it strive to do better. I’m also by no means saying that I’m the perfect applicant, I’ve made mistakes before, even some that I’d probably bleach from the face history, but I also learn very easily from my mistakes and tend to approach things at a different angle if a single solution isn’t working. Now onto the fluff Put simply, while the Guild’s structure isn’t broken by any means, it still needs that strong representation that the Guild Leader has to offer. Bounty Hunter in my eyes is the best faction that the server gives upon purchase of VIP just for the sheer amount of freedom it has to offer. Now, while I did say the Guild overall wasn’t broken, that doesn’t mean it’s lacking in problems. I’ll list them and provide a necessary solution that’ll benefit everyone involved. “People only get on their Bounty Hunter to mess around and troll.” This is the primary thing I want to address right away as I am even guilty of this at times. While I do think freeform RP should be something that remains in the Guild, allowing it to be an environment in which Republic players can go and chill out on, I do think that people who just pop on the Guild character, steal a LAAT, shoot missiles at the base and fly away have overall no place in the Guild. I want to emphasize that while not all actions require an RP reason for doing so, things like these that actively disrupt the server require some sort of means and motive behind it. Lately I’ve already been doing my part to cut this issue out with the rewriting of the rules/ROE and the introduction of the CIS mercenary that actually gives you the motive that you need to do more chaotic actions towards the Republic. Really, this is a problem that’s mostly going to be solved with vigilance. I plan to get more Marshals (Guild Rule Enforcers) that will be able to work around the clock when I can’t be on to see it happening. While I do, of course, believe in “quality over quantity”, since the BH guild has the potential to be especially large at times, the quantity will help maintain said quality. The first order of business will be filling up the leadership positions and getting something worked out for an increase in numbers. “There’s not enough evaluations being hosted.” This is something I agree with and something I’ve already worked to mitigate. There was recently a new wave of Guild Recruiters that were promoted and as I’m writing this app, one of them has already recruited 7 new Hunters. I’m hoping to grab more, essentially the same solution as the last. “Bounty Hunters is a glorified excuse to RDM.” This is also something that I want to crack down on. While neither side ever really handles in-character hostility well, I would like to take the initiative and handle it from a BH perspective. As a result, it’s the Bounty Hunter’s responsibility to be the better person as they directly represent the faction whether they like it or not. For a temporary solution, I could tighten up the rules on when it’s okay to actually kill someone, chiefly that on the BH side of ROE they need to follow the tenet of “kill by necessity”. Just because a clone is kicking you out of the base doesn’t mean you need to whip out your 90$ shotgun and unload on his test-tube face. Availability: Mon-Thurs - 4PM-9PM (Can vary depending on the workday) Friday-Sun - All day I’m starting university soon so if I come across any complications I’ll be as transparent about it as possible. Give a brief overview of your achievements on the server: Listed in experience, but I’d rather be judged for what I can do rather than what I have done. Here it is again. Commander (CG) Executive Officer (CG) BCMD Fox (CG) x2 Guild Cabinet Member x2 (Before and after reorganization) Guild Lieutenant What do you feel the role of the Guild Leader is?: Honestly, I see Guild Leader as more a hands-off approach to leadership similar to Yoda. The Guild Leader should be primarily the face of the Guild, someone who can actively represent it in trying times and otherwise. The GL runs an entire faction so a lot of his micromanaging should be delegated to his subordinates instead. The Guild Leader can make massive changes, but not without first consulting his own leadership. Essentially it’s a lot like the “democratic” system that many other leadership roles on the server enforce. Do you have a microphone?: Yep. Do you understand that if you go inactive that you will be removed from your position?: Yep. How do you plan to improve relations between the guild and the server?: This… is admittedly a tricky one. The harsh truth about it all is that “good relations” go both ways. Much of the issues I’ve listed in the “Why” question have solutions that could ultimately help this, but my primary goal is to get Republic players in a position where they’re more open to Bounty Hunters. This won’t work without cooperation, cooperation that I’ll personally need to create myself by talking to the BCMD+’s and getting the general consensus of the Guild and making necessary compromises to help everyone be comfortable and not just immediately assuming that BH’s are going to use their role as an excuse to RDM. It’s all a group effort and it’ll be the main focus for the majority of my term, I can only hope that the rest of the server’s leadership will be onboard with this journey. Do you understand that your position has a three month term?: Yes.
  13. In all seriousness, I just gave it a listen and yeah it's very.... weird to me. There's a lot of emotional songs in Star Wars just because it's been around for so long, but most of the time these are done with orchestras. Burying the Dead sounds like one of those fan remixes, not that it's bad, but it definitely stands out. Needless to say, it does get the job done, but is overall an "interesting" choice to end TCW on.
  14. You and Taz should just hold hands romantically already you filthy degenerate.
  15. 5/10 I like the ship dupe and I like that there was a semblance of a story. But it was a story that was all over the place, characters popped in and out of nowhere, the choice of map really wasn't that good at all (although that's not your fault), and the event jobs didn't seem to be taking their, well, jobs seriously. It wasn't bad by any means but I can't personally bring myself to call it anything but average with its hindrances.
  16. 8/10 One of the better shoot-'em-ups. You go all out like usual, no unique idea but still very well executed. The day you come up with your own unique story is the day I get to see a 10/10 event because I know you can pull it off.
  17. I'll be honest, my master career was a joke, but Stormzy was always a good Yoda. I had my reservations about him before when he had first applied, but honestly every time I see Stormzy on, he's always engaging the Order, the troopers, AND the Bounty Hunters (<3) in some way. There are points where he's just b-hopping around but I can say for the most part that he is actually "AcTivE" on the server in the purest form of the word. People love this guy, I love this guy, and I want to see him continue to do good. +1 Question though, do you plan to utilize Tython more? It's the best planet on the map and the temple is still usually pretty abandoned.

I can honestly say I'd rather be killed by an NT than an RC shotgun.
