I have been playing synergy for a few months now and it has been incredibly fun and Base ops was the funnest battalion I have been. Recently the server has just become something grindy in which you are just sitting until an event happens which is not even that fun any more. Base ops was just wiped and is being restructured and I am starting my final year at school so I decided I will leave to focus on school instead. I am sure I will be back for my occasional holiday but I am done being properly invested in it. Clearing things up: No I did not try to power play base ops as it had been suggested. Everything we did was voted on by the officers as a group with no alterior motives. Everything we did was within our boundaries. This is my honest opinion on base ops which will be offensive. From a insiders perspective on base ops: Base ops was on the path to recovery with commanders having nothing to do about it. They had the attitude of "It's not my job" even though we were on the brink of removal. The commanders had big bark but no bite. You can argue that they are our superiors and they should be doing this. But when you are at the point you can't even host your own base ops meeting and decide to take an LOA to main your jedi when we are about to be removed, You really start to question the leadership and how they got there. I had initially put a vote to wipe base ops from top to bottom and having Alfa step in behind the scenes and ensure people knew what they were doing. Of course the commanders did not want to lose their ranks so they were the first to deny it. I am glad the directors have gone through with it. Farewells: Naffen- We never saw eye to eye and you always had to try and catch people on the smallest errors. But we did start to become friends at the end Elevator- Crod squad for life Ike- You were one of the coolest guys on the server that had bought me VIP and got me started in base ops. Dolan- Funny guy who worked his way all the way up to WO and intel director. Really hard worker Logic- We never spoke much but we had always been on the same page and I enjoyed the conversations I did have with you. Vango- You were a great guy but as a leader you can't be afraid to use your mic and don't try to seek validation and credit all the time. Just put in the work and people will see it. Acorn- I hope you can become the next Yularen and fill the massive gap we have in base ops. You were a hard worker and really were a pleasure to be around Omalic- You are a great BCMD and you have always been a good friend. Sanchez- You were a lad Werewolf- Thank you for coming back and trying to help base ops where you could. Alfa- You really were the best option for admiral and I always wished the directors would overlook what you did. Warmac- I will miss you my stinky friend! Scarecrow- You are one of the most down to earth but strict people I have seen on the server. Thank you for stepping in when others wouldn't. Ben- I did not like you from the start, You were inactive until the Yularen position opened up and In 4 months you racked up 1 training and did 3 tryouts. You had no plans for Yularen and I am glad you did not receive the position. Soz if I missed you -Stern

Dude, really. And as Lucky stated it's not your decision. Yes its quite obvious that people don't want Maymays back. (those who were more closely involved with Maymay's removal and ban) Hence the Directors and Founders not wanting him back. Yes Maymays has done some SERIOUSLY shady shit. And the Patrick situation was no help. Then him being stubborn either. He was following a code and it got him banned essentially. He has talked shit about the community after he was removed and banned. Zim even offered him a chance to appeal but he continued to talk shit. Not so bright. But, thats just one side. On the other hand, Maymay's, for a long time wasn't a bad person. He put naval in a fantastic position while he was in it. They were doing good and when he was removed, it became a shit show. Ever since Alfa and Maymay's removal. Naval has been a pile of garbage. One admiral to the next. Everyone has this perception of Maymay's after his ban and removal, "hes a bad dude". When in reality its basically a couple things that ruined his reputation. Before then, he was a highly respected member of the community. Honestly, IMO he's not a bad person. I personally don't think the Patrick situation is all his fault. Patrick was unstable to begin with. (hate me, but it's true)). Him not giving the discord till a new admiral was chosen has been a long standing tradition. I think talking shit after his ban was inexcusable, but he did it. No changing it. Neutral. There is a lot of negatives here, but I believe that he has positives too.

I say this now. This is no Jab at Synergy and I am aware people agree with me on this topic. Below you will find a list of the problems I see and how they can be addressed. 1. Roleplay Premise: The Roleplay on the server is severely lacking. Recently after returning to the community I have noticed a significant decrease in the overall roleplay of the server. We are a "Serious Roleplay" community so when did we all get the idea that we wont Serious Roleplay and turn it Semi-Serious. The Game Makers/Masters have been trying now to get more fun roleplay scenarios for example the Sith Raid we had. However, the player base sill fails to put consistent and mutual effort into the roleplay. When this happens it tends to lead to conflicts with immersion, failrp, drama and more. We need to get the players ready to engage into more roleplay instead of treating this like DarkRP but starwars based. Solutions: 1) Promote more roleplay. (Server-wide, battalion-specified, creativity, etc) 2) If people are screwing up, remind them of the what "Roleplay" is. Give them some tips and tricks on how to get better, tell what to do and what not to do. Basic shit. 3) Make the roleplay more interesting. (Back Ops, Battalion only Missions, In-depth roleplay, Long Events that have a roleplay base to the fight. For Example the GM changes name to Republic Communications or Advisor, your troops defend a point you then have them push up to another position and get medics to set up medical tents etc, like they would IRL. Have the troops defend that area for a while then have them set up a new temp FOB.) Players: You have many, many options to roleplay than you may think. Patrol Duty, Training Drills, PT, Passive Roleplay, Equipment/Ship maintenance, Lore Trivia, Server Wide Classes(Not the Jobs). These are some bad examples but it just helps prove that the options are only limited by your own creativity. 2. Immersion/FailRP/Metagaming Premise: Event Jobs speaking in OOC, using poor speech (Count Dooku: Im here to fuck you bois up), Fail RPing, Lack of immersion and actual roleplay within events. In addition the players metagaming hardcore, asking for permission to go on a base patrol when Sith call all Sith to the temple or when GM call for event jobs. Or when Commando droid are trying to regroup at MHB on secure comms and a trooper runs straight there and opens fire immediately. Solutions: 1) Immersion: Act more strict with event jobs. Encourage them to engage more with roleplay and less just shooting up, to pay attention to a situation. Go In-depth with the character their playing, follow their speech patterns, make sure their actions make sense. If an event job is minging, blacklist them or find another person. Try to set the event jobs up for good roleplay scenarios, its the GM's/GH's responsibility to make the event fun for the vent jobs as well. Make a good story for both sides to experience. 2) FailRP: Not much we can do about this, just make sure your on top of it. 3) Metagaming: Warn players and event jobs for metagaming. Give a short explanation and why it is bad. For example " It ruins the story and immersion of the event, or delays something or even causes it to stop abruptly." If you see someone consistently metagaming, call them out on it. If they continue to metagame kick them out of the server/ban for 10-30 minutes when they metagame. I just want to say, I do not mean any harm to the community at all. And this is not a jab at the playerbase itself or the staff or GM's/GH's here. Its simply just me trying to get people to realise that the server for the Clone Troopers is going downhill asap. Someone I know said it quite well and Ill put the list below about the levels of Roleplay on the server for each area. Sith: Pretty Decent Jedi: Neutral(In the Middle) Clones: Pretty Bland. That is the most accurate thing I have seen in a long time. Especially for the clones I cannot personally speak for the Sith or Jedi as I am not either. Yours Truly Dreams.

Out of curiousity I've been trying out other servers and Synergy is miles above them. An easy example is Icefuse - they are still doing /me escape or even doing /me does the thing over advert in order to announce roleplay, unlike how we have here pushed for more of a verbal communication in regards to roleplay (where either the GM has the Event Jobs speak about things they are doing so it's more immersive or using a Narrator). Whilst playing on Icefuse for 2 days I saw a total of 2 events, 1 for each, and they were literally the same just swapped event jobs. For a long time now we've encouraged Game Masters to do new things and always ask for advice so things don't go terribly wrong. A great example was an event Dragon hosted where Order 37 was executed; Very questionable premissed and a lot of things had to go right for it to work but he made sure to have the proper authorization and help to see it through. To add to what Reed said, Community/Player involvement is important as well. Event Jobs roleplaying is only half of it, if players refuse to return roleplay or simply nod & shake their heads nothing much will happen. To bring back the Icefuse thing, their playerbase barely Roleplays at a minimal level. They more-so behave like they're cosplaying Troopers in an arena where there's objectives, etc. I was promoted 3 times during a debrief for literaly just Roleplaying and staying in character (through my actions and communication).

Hi, Im aware this is now Staff Only I am assuming by the reply you left Joah. But I would just like to mention, That I also do not think the Events here are behind other communities, I just think ours here lack a base roleplay incentive to fully immerse players in, and creativity. If we just had that little extra creativity and that little more immersion we would have some amazing events.

The issue i'm seeing is everyone saying you don't know the full story to everyone. Well what the fuck is the full story then? Why is everyone being so god damn vague about it? Its pretty fucking ridiculous to say peoples opinions are wrong and they don't know the full thing when your being vague and refusing to tell it.

the server became like this because you dont do stuff. Ive been playing star wars RP in this community for around 3 years and im still enjoying my time because I do stuff, outside the base I rp with people around. Maybe you could try doing that because I see a lot of people saying the server is boring but they just dont try to do anything. but anyway im not shitting on you btw im just stating my opinion towards people that says there is nothing to do. Fat yikes in chat boys. For real though, Looking at the Patrick situation, regardless of who is at fault for what, he can't be blamed for more than half the issues Patrick was facing. Not me personally, but those close to me have had those sorts of tendencies and if it isn't going to be one thing it's going to be something else. Like Joah said though, the Patrick thing is minuet in comparison to the way that he acted after his removal and current activity within the community forums. Seems like the appeal is being made not because he cares about playing here, but because he can make one again. I see the best outcome here is to just move on. It's SWRP and nothing worth more than the dirt on the ground when you look at it for what it is. Seems like everyone on both side forgets that this is a game. Myself included, it's easy to forget that it is just a game and nothing serious at all. (Not meaning to shit on the community as a whole, pretty cool guys all around.) Lastly, for a contrast against this ban. I was banned permanently July 11th, (Only know it because the date I went to basic is July 12th you memes.) for toxicity. I won't deny my own fault in how I ended up with the ban, but nor did I really do any retarded clap backs against anyone or try and cause harm to the community. Hell, I didn't even ask to be unbanned, because even after I was able to log in again did I really care about it. -1. The best second chance is keeping the option off the table.

I still say at the end of the day it takes a few seconds to reban him if he fucks up. If the community wants him unbanned then let him be unbanned. If the community wants him to stay banned then leave him banned. At the end of the day synergys motto is "A community by the people, for the people" it doesnt matter if he rubbed one person the wrong way or not. Write your side and shut up and let the community decide. There is to much dick measuring in this post.

I remember not wanting to apply for yularen cause of how fucked up I thought putting the Patrick situation onto maymays was. The fact that it's happening again means I have to say something regardless if I get beaned for it I gotta give my 2 cents. I was in all those meetings with Patrick and maymays and absolute no bullying of any sort of took place. @COC4INE and @Punybob also were in those meetings several times and can give their two cents. The fact that this narrative is still being pushed is bullshit. The bullying came from the people in game making fun of him when he talked in debrief....not maymays. Patrick got demoted and that was a group decision that was made. If your going to give the police information that this person is at fault for someones suicidal actions because he demoted him in a starwarsrp server that is fucked up. I'm only speaking on the Patrick situation when it comes to this appeal. @Zim we had this conversation before, dont push this false narrative to your community, cause Patrick wasn't bullied by maymays..he was bullied by your community.

As for the LTAP, you left the server as soon as the ship exploded however you did come instantly. I had already entered the ban before you had returned and i just redid the ban when you came back. As for the MRDM and FailRP, you shot the guns of the ship at the people on the landing pad before crashing it into people and killing several of them.
