  1. I'll be honest, I wasn't sold on them being here initially and believed they might feel out of place. Some of this hesitation does stems from not wanting to change too much at once, and doubly so not one of the new things we got. However, I had an idea for their role within this sub-unit that I believe fits well in a roleplay context. While the name might not help much, their roleplay purpose can still thrive outside of it—particularly through their use of the hologram tool. They could use this to fake out attackers, making them believe we have greater forces than we actually do or, conversely, appear weaker by being cloaked, leading the enemy into a trap. Additionally, the cloak could be utilized for patrolling the immediate area, providing updates on when and where enemies are approaching. This would give us the opportunity to spring a well-timed trap. Though these are more roleplay-oriented reasons, I trust this battalion to take them seriously. If, over time, these elements don't mesh well, server suggestions are always available for future adjustments. We can definitely make changes if necessary, but for now, I think they should stay.

  2. I love the concept of these jobs especially tying in with the established lore that the creator made as well. My one concern is I don’t see how the Infiltrator job fits in with this unit? Cloaking doesn’t really seem inherently defensive whatsoever in fact I see droid poppers as a more defensive tool than cloaks. I like how you are trying to encourage other units to try and suggest that job for themselves I just don’t really see it fitting in with yall tbh. I know the job was introduced with this battalion but do you believe it still has a place in this new direction you’re taking the unit? Or are there other ideas for other jobs that would fit better? +1 to the new jobs but just wanted to put that one concern out there. Glad Tukk Company is doing so well!

  3. Name: Tetra RP Rank: CMD Suggestion: Replace 41st Elite Corps Trooper Implementation: As a recon battalion, 41st Elite Corps specializes in recon and uses the ARF trooper as our base trooper. As a result, we have no reason to use or have the 41st Trooper. Why not put it to better use? The 41st Elite Corps are known to have been deployed to various alien worlds over time, including Jungle and Forest environments. Life in these environments can be quite inhospitable, especially to humanoids, so these troopers had to adapt using their wits and combat knowledge to wage war in this hostile terrain. The 41st Pathfinders are elite jungle warriors, masters of navigating woodland environments and soaring to new heights using ziplines to get around the treetops. Armed with their bowcasters, tracking devices, and a melee weapon, these cunning hunters exceed at both medium range and close quarters combat to take down their prey. Lore: 41st Sarlaac Battalions A and B were deployed to the forest planet of Dinlo, 41st Elite Corps, Green Company, Ranger Platoon were all deployed to Kashyyyk. Green Company has also been deployed to Rodia, a jungle swamp planet. 4. Name: Conrad RP Rank: WO - Approved By Director because no BCMD Suggestion: Hill Company, Setting us up! We are creating a new battalion, and unlike any other, this battalion is coming to us without any established lore. During this time, we’ve been relying on vibes, exploring what we enjoy, and trying to carve out a unique niche on the server that doesn’t overlap with others. In doing so, we noticed a gap: defense. While CG focuses on defending VIPs and securing small areas, we envisioned creating a group dedicated to guarding outposts, gates, and larger areas such as entire towns. To realize this vision, we decided that Hill Company would be a great fit for this role, serving as the shield while our main battalion acts as the sword. We didn’t want to take the easy route by simply giving every member of the subunit a jetpack. Instead, we wanted to create something fresh from the ground up. With this in mind, we aim to establish two new regiments—both to enhance our battalion and contribute to the server as a whole. Currently, the primary focus of Hill Company is the Infiltrator. Outside of this, the existing regiments—Heavy, Medic, and Basic Trooper—are no different from the main battalion whitelists for these roles. These regiments use the standard loadouts players are already familiar with, which doesn’t help in establishing a unique identity for Hill Company. Therefore, we propose removing these three regiments to make way for something new! We hope these new regiments will not only propel our battalion forward but also push the server in an exciting new direction! I encourage other battalions to consider implementing these regiments, and even thinking about making new and unique regiments for their battalions (shoutout to the 41st for steering in this direction already!) if they feel they could enhance their own unique identity. In fact, I already have a few ideas about where they could fit: @212th Ghost Company: Adding the Infiltrator WL could be a great fit, a unique way to scout! @104th: The Armorer role seems like a natural addition for you, building a fortification while you repair your vehicles! @501st Torrent Company: A Droid Popper would be a valuable asset and give TC an extra punch! @Coruscant Guard: I think a Trench Trooper would suit your forces well. As you can see, the goal isn’t just to benefit our battalion—we’re happy to share these ideas if they help strengthen the identity of other battalions and subunits! I hope this sparks creativity among others to develop new roles that contribute to the uniqueness of their units. The 41st has already taken a big step in this direction by introducing new tools to the server, and they’re doing a fantastic job with it! Additionally, we’re not looking to create a subunit that can do everything. For example, we won’t have certain staples, like Medics, which we propose removing under this suggestion. Similarly, we’re asking for Droid Poppers to be excluded from this subunit since grenades are inherently offensive, which doesn’t align with our defensive focus. These changes are meant to strengthen the roleplay aspect of the group and ensure it doesn’t become overpowered. While we’re requesting two new things, we want to remain modest in our approach. We wanted to take an approach that minimizes the development workload. As a new battalion, we recognize that we already have some unique features, and while we’re open to sharing these with others, we also want to allow development efforts to prioritize other battalions. With this in mind, we’ve ensured that the workload for our proposed changes is light, focusing on tools the server already has, and using the models that already exist. We completely understand if these updates need to take a backseat to changes requested by other battalions for their development needs. Lastly, some of our requests involve items that other groups already use. For example, we discussed the Chain Gun with the Regimental (Bana) and multiple officers in Rancor(Clorox, Malore, and Bobby), all of whom had no objections since the weapon is “not really used.” For the Fortification Tool, we plan to work closely with the Navy. We’ve consulted Tundra/Yularen and will adhere to all rules they have in place. We consider them the owners of this tool and simply wish to use it to advance roleplay within our subunit. Implementation: We propose replacing all current whitelists in Hill Company, except for Crash and Infiltrator, with two new regiments. These regiments will be designed to redefine Hill Company as a subunit specializing in the defense of key locations, including checkpoints, outposts, gates, and other large areas. By focusing on this defensive identity, Hill Company will stand out as a unit that excels at maintaining strongholds and securing critical positions on the battlefield. This change aligns with our vision of creating a unique roleplay experience for both our battalion and the server as a whole. Lore: Since the 241st has no official lore, we are working to steer the battalion in a unique direction on the server. Our goal is to establish a distinct identity that stands apart from others on the server and the main battalion. Hill Company will focus on defense, but in a way that differentiates it from CG, DS, or Senate Commandos. Hill Company will serve as the defensive arm of the battalion, complementing the offensive operations of the main force. Their role will be to organize large-scale defenses of outposts, bases, and checkpoints once these locations have been secured by the main force. This focus on holding critical positions will ensure that gains made during offensives are not lost. After all, sometimes, “The best offense is a good defense!” Workshop content if applicable: (If no workshop content, suggest a developer or put "Require Development") If you are asking to add or change a job, fill out the following if not, leave it out. 5. Your feedback means a lot to us. It's import to us to get people's thoughts and Ideas as we form an identity and a place for this battalion on the server. Hill company currently isn't open, but once we've had it open for a while and have played with the regiments we will definitely be coming back to the drawing board to see what fits and what could be reworked. It was important to us to keep this suggestion as humble as we could while pushing boundaries and encouraging other battalions to ask for more for themselves, so hashing out the one regiment we want to keep, (for now), wasn't at the top of our list of priorities. I hope that one day you will come back and see how the battalion you helped conceptualize has grown and come into its own. We'll definitely be considering your thoughts on infil in conversations going forward, thank you

  6. +1 super cool idea and on top of it a lot of effort was put into it Hill company being a Hill/defense unit might be one of the coolest ideas ive seen on the server so far.

  7. I like those ideas ig I spent so much time in High Staff and HC that I just inherently see how players will abuse things or not follow simple rules so my first thought was people are just gonna run wild with their cloaks and not do that. However I know the people currently in 241st are very passionate and will actually do the right thing I can just see it getting lax over time and maybe being a problem in the future but that’s the director in me ig. My last little side suggestion is keep the job, rename it to something that fits in, keep the hologram tool, remove the cloak, and maybe add something else to its kit that would make it fit in. Remember the E-web turrets Naval used to have those would go hard ngl. Either way the whole unit sounds good to me I just like to nitpick and think of alternatives. I’m a nerd lol

  8. +1. I'm glad to see other battalions taking cues from us and pushing to diversify the battalions. It's never sat right by me to have every battalion with the same regiments as all of the others, as it doesn't really incentivize going to one battalion over another besides their more specific trainings.

  9. +1 Sad to see Medic won't be a part of it, but this sounds good and new. Tiered of seeing Battalions that are copy paste and change the skin slightly, so the change would be good.

  11. Name: Tetra RP Rank: CMD Suggestion: Give Improcco Company Hunter's Mark from D&D. Hunter's Mark is a 1st level spell that deals a small amount of extra damage to a creature of choice. Early on in D&D, this essentially equates to roughly double damage for a low level Ranger. What this would do is allow a member of Improcco to mark a target of significance and do temporary increased damage to that target. https://roll20.net/compendium/dnd5e/Hunter's Mark#content Implementation: Add in an item that allows marking of a single target of importance. This item should have a long cooldown, say 5 minutes or so, to prevent abuse of the mechanic, and it should last for a short period of time. While marked, a target should take increased damage, this damage should be significant but not game breaking. Realistically speaking, this would be most beneficial against "bosses" or other special targets. Lore: Improcco is an elite unit of, essentially, commandos that were known to provide aid to Delta and Omega squad. I see this more as Improcco identifying a target's weak points and focusing fire on those weak points. Workshop content if applicable: Requires Development.

  13. Name: Tetra RP Rank: CMD Suggestion: Add in a reconnaissance tool that functions similar to Insight or Scan Darts from Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017). Implementation: Basically this would be an item that can be used with a reasonable cooldown, that would scan an area for any friendlies or hostiles and highlight them for a short period of time. It can either be a held item that affects the area around the player, a projectile that can be shot at a location and highlights around that area, or throw a sticky grenade that sticks to a spot and highlights around that area as well. Lore: 41st Elite Corps is a Reconnaissance battalion. This tool would help us carry out our intelligence gathering. 14. I will be immediately using it on a friend and one shot punching them with my fists +1 sounds cool if possible

  15. I envision this working on both. Prime distinction being that it isn't something that can just be spammed, the cooldown should be long enough to punish them for not picking the right targets.

  18. Wait I’m sorry one more thing but I know HVO lost the anti-vehicle mines idk if they got removed from the server but if not those could make a good utility for a defensive unit IMO! Just wanted to throw that out there they were criminally underrated and underutilized

  20. HUGE +1 A possible infiltrator role in 212th would be major work and amazing backup

  21. It's as Conrad stated. What is the difference between a Shiny and a 41st Trooper? Green paint. What is the point of that? When people join a battalion, they are interested in what that battalion brings to the table. By having our troopers start off as ARF troopers, it starts getting them into the specialization early. That is the point of ARFO and ARFL, to focus on training these new troopers on what the 41st is all about, as well as maintaining the standards of recon within the battalion. Don't forget that Green Company ALSO has ARF troopers that need managing and guidance as well. Additionally, we aren't limiting the new stuff to just this job. Our subunits definitely need an additional push as well and won't be forgotten.

  22. +1, make sure we balance it correctly but it would make sense for both of these groups to have a modified version of a gun in use.

  23. +1 This will push Hill Company into a new and interesting direction. Much love for the 2nd41st.

  24. +1 The server needs creativity first off, this is the way to push it. All of these items (Infiltrator, Armorer, Trench Trooper, and even the droid popper) are open for the taking if they fit your subunit/battalion! Also, Hill Company for 241st was left unfinished until we could decide its purpose: this is the purpose 241st wants. Working on this suggestion alongside the whole battalion was incredibly fun and enlightening on how we can boost the server and round off our only subunit.

  25. +1. This is about pushing the boundaries of synergy and bringing diversity back to EVERY battalion. We want to inspire every battalion to ask for jobs that allow their subunits to be unique and fulfill their purposes. We are willing to both sacrifice and to share anything unique that we have, or that we get.
    1 point
  26. @Jayarr said i'm not supposed to +1 or -1 suggestions but i'm gonna pretend that's not true. HUGE +1. Been trying to use this battalion as an experiment to move away from the standardization and it's been going really well. Hill Company feels kinda meh rn and this would set us up for greatness.

  27. +1 I really like the diversity of the jobs for regiments. It encourages unique and purposeful gameplay while also not making the sub-unit overpowered.

  28. -1 This is a large misconception due to the original modeler being slow and naming the Kano model Denal. The model is Kano. Not Denal. This just ruins Kano as a lore character by taking away his unique armor and model and giving it to a character with way less lore and characteristics just because a file got named incorrectly.
    1 point
  29. Nope, we’re asking for another WL specifically for Denal. The current Kano model is labeled as Denal, and it’s close enough and also not Phase 1 so we don’t have any complaints and don’t want to waste dev time. Moving the 501st jet trooper model to the Kano whitelist. Add a Denal Whitelist to TC. Move the current model on the Kano whitelist that is called “Denal” onto the newly created Denal whitelist. @Mystic
    1 point
  30. Kano model = Jet Trooper. Denal Model = Kano model Then put the 2 onto 1 single whitelist?
    1 point
  31. We have two suggestions up right now that involve each other; this one and the Denal WL addition. In an effort to make the devs jobs easier and not have to make two new models, we’d like to move the current model used for the Kano WL to a new and additional Denal WL, and the current 501st jet trooper model on the server now gets added to the current Kano WL.

  32. This is one of the most unique things I've heard of for a new job on the server and this only reinforces that, especially with the inspirations for it. I really dig this and hope it passes. Thank you for the deeper explanation!
    1 point
  33. Thank you for the follow up question. Yes, the lore is a bit sparse. This job was a group effort, something many members of the 41st contributed to the idea of. We wanted to use the Ziplines in a creative way that makes sense for our battalion and wanted to design a trooper around that idea. We took the idea of what 41st already does and took it to the next level. What would happen to a trooper with long exposure to these environments, somewhere they may have little to no communication? Deep behind enemy lines? The job is inspired by three main things: Turok, the dinosaur hunter; Rambo; and hunters/rangers. Those inspirations helped inspire the kit around that. Originally we thought to have a sniper for this trooper, but I thought that would make it too similar to Green Company and wanted to differentiate it further, so as I thought about Jungle environments, it reminded me of the characters above. Turok uses a bow, but he also has access to advanced technology and that kind of clicked for me in how similar that was, in a way, to a clone trooper in this environment. 41st is also known for hostile terrain warfare and jungles in real life are really hostile areas if you aren't careful, just look at the Amazon. We see this trooper fitting in the role of covert operations, getting into locations that other troopers wouldn't be able to, marking important targets, while the remaining forces catch up, then engaging alongside, say Improcco. They'd run alongside our ARFs, assisting in getting them to locations otherwise inaccessible. Then while the ARFs are communicating the general layout of the forces and buildings and calling in reinforcements, these guys will go in deeper to find key targets, set the ground work for when the remaining forces arrive.
