Name: Bane

RP Rank: Major

Suggestion: Add damage logs for staff. This would help us greatly in RDM cases, Determining what is and what isnt an accident, etc.

Implementation: I think this comes standard with DarkRP/Some of the addons we have, it just needs to be enabled

Lore:

Workshop content if applicable: Requires development
(If no workshop content, suggest a developer or put "Require Development")

Former: A lot of shit dude

Logging systems cause performance lag, as it would have to pull up hundreds of pages worth of actions. Take Mlogs for example, baseline it logs like 4 categories of actions and each Category has a sub category of like 8 different things like , Kills, damage, commands, chat and so on. Point is, the best logging system we have FOR NOW is the console. It's currently set in the rules that noone may be killed unless in a simulation or event or schedules executions. Therefore we can use common sense to determine, "Was there an event going on? Was there a scheduled execution? Was this in the sim room? Was Sim Active during this time?" Im pretty certain the chat can log timestamps if you enabled it and OR you can record and use that as evidence. Yes not everyone can record, so the console and chat timestamps can help because the console DOES say who killed who with what weapon.

All in all, a logging system is nice to have and great quality of life, but at the same time there is an alternative method, like doing a bit of investigation and asking for additional information. you can ask Person 1, his reasoning for killing person 2 and almost in any scenario its not a good reason and therefore be arrested for RDM.

Just use proper judgement. If both parties say it was an accident, then don't arrest.

-1 RDM Cases are a fucking headache to deal with. But it's not always because we need to know who did what explicitly, it's because most people who deal with cases like that don't really get how do deal with them. I speak as a staff member of 10 months, this is not something we need.

Broooo that's literally insane brooo

-1 if you get RDMed just respawn 5head.
also doesn’t do anything for proving accidents or not. Accidents are just that, accidents.
biggest issue is this will be so many things in console. You won’t be able to see anything else and it’ll move so quickly. Imagine during an event all the damage ticks.

Denial reasons:
(These are some reasons that your suggestion might get denied for.)

  • Not providing sufficient information.
Ex: Just linking the workshop and not giving us the actual model path you want to use.
  • The addon's size is way too big compared to its content(s).
    Ex: 35MB for one model.
  • Majority negative feedback.
  • Bad optimization and/or causes bad performance on the server.
  • Having multiple suggestions within one thread.
  • Bothering leadership/development team regarding a suggestion.
  • Suggesting a previously denied suggestion within 60 days of denial.
