Suggestion: Add Engineer and Pilot jobs to 501st

Implementation: Add Engineer and Pilot jobs to 501st
Reason: With the merge with 187th it would be nice to add some of the jobs from 187th to 501st

Lore: the 501st used pilots eg Hawk

212th has 11 base jobs and 501st has 10. I suggest merge Pilots into the Hawk job and make the Hawk model a skin for the PLTL of the 501st therefore making your base job count to 11, equal to that of the 212th.

Also another idea. Why not make Pilots the Engineer job? Would make them have a use when not flying.

+1 but it might make sense to combine PLT and ENG to prevent having too many subunits

Ima +1 just for the 187th bois, but 501st does have more slots for TC (sub unit) than every other battalion. So to say make it fair to the 212th, it kinda wrong, 17 for 212th (foxtrot and 2ndAC) 19 for 501st (TC) It is true that you do have more Lore characters 

But I am all for your PLTS and SS!

Wait. Updating my vote to a -1.

Reason: The suggestion added sharpshooters to the list of job additions to the battalion. The 501st already has ARF troopers which render the sharpshooter job useless. This was seen in the 187th as that job was never seen and the sharpshooter regiment was dead.

Please reconsider.

(Also that model is horrible)

Overall: The best thing you can do is make the Hawk job into the "Pilot job" with the Hawk skin for the PLTL. Pilots could also be the Engineers for the 501st, giving them a use when not flying.

I was only informed about ENG and PLT jobs, not SS. Permission from HC lets you suggest what you proposed to us at the beginning, and you should’ve brought it up to my attention again before making the addition. Therefore either remove it or I suggest this proposal gets denied, as it lacks the proper authorization from us .

Its also not big brain to drastically change your suggestions after having it out as some comment are plus 1 ing one idea while other are another.

For the fact your CMD, Kelso, the mans who gave you authorisation has asked you to change it imma -1.

SS branches are always dead

ENG are hit and miss sometimes for activity, hence why some are removed

PLT I thought was getting a big change to a overall pilot job 

What? Were you expecting some colourful thing denoting my past achievements?

Well tough luck, even if I did it would be just 3 things - Bacara, SPEC REG, Old HA.

SS is useless unless we plan on invading Europe. Anyway, plt and engineer is fine, we can use models that are already in the model pack instead of paying for new models. IE the hawk model for pilot

SS isn't going to happen; 501st Command didn't approve of it and neither does anyone else.

I'll +1 Pilot and Engineer, though I think they should merge and be the same thing like was suggested above. It'd give the pilots something to do when they're not flying; which is 99% of the time.

+1 Since 501st judt got a huge member boost, adding extra subunits makes sense.

 

To everyone saying “merge pilots and engineers”, please don’t. As an ENGO myself, it’s very obvious the distinction between pilots and engineers. I’m all for giving the pilot job a repair tool if Engineers actually had turrets, otherwise it should remain as is.

Merging PTL & ENG is (sorry) an awful idea. It might make sense to possibly not add one or the other, but to merge them is to kill both the pilot job and the engineer job. As an engineer myself, there’s not always times when i’m able to be doing engineer stuff and that’s fine. As a medic, there are times when you’re not doing medic stuff. As an ARF, there’s times when you’re not doing scouting. As Engineer, there’s times when you’re not repairing something. Merging Pilot and ENG would create a “super trooper”, or even inspire other branch merges.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but aren’t Pilots required to be ENG trained and have repair tools like Engineers? Aren’t they basically already Engineers? I don’t understand how you believe merging them (which would save space and not stretch out your already thin numbers to two different regiments when they already do the same exact things besides one also pilots ships) would kill both of them? I don’t see this as a “Super Trooper” because all jobs can get ENG trained which really renders the ENG class useless besides the fact that it has a repair tool, which the Pilot has too... and how could this inspire other branch merges if none of the others are similar in any way whatsoever when PLT and ENG are quite literally almost the same.
