Why was Movie theatre OOC lounge removed?

Okay I'm sure a good amount of players from old time synergy remember the OOC lounge on the classic Venator towards the back of the ship with the movie theatre. Why was this removed and why have we not readded it back to the server? From what I remember it wasn't abused and any videos you wanted had to be requested by staff to play the videos. If some minge did some how gain access to the Media Player Screen it kept a steam Id of who put what on so you we're able to see if someone put on some dumb shit or not. If possible I'd like staff members to respond with their reasonings of why it's not here anymore. I personally think it was an amazing feature because when people we're bored they literally just went and chilled with people watching a movie or some shit and just chill.

No clue as I'm a newfrog, but in the last community update they said that they were looking at getting Bananakin to add an OOC to Anaxes Base

OOC areas are cancer. They're an excuse to micspam and break rules, and they've always been that way.

For video players in particular, you'd have to make sure the sound doesn't leak out to the surrounding areas which is weird to do. Making the OOC lounge isn't super important though, so idk if/when it will ever be readded.

While I agree with finn I think we should give something like this another shot to see how it goes and if it’s aids then it should be removed again but if it’s a cool thing then you know keep it

This would get super toxic real fucking quick. Not to mention all the femboys putting their weird shit on the screen and all that junk. 
 

Also if this DOES get re added all I’m saying is that a lot of people are gonna hear Eminem blasting from that room cuz of me…. (;

Pros - It can be a fun way to let off steam

Cons - People can do stupid shit with it

Technical issues - Sound leaking out

Solution - If we are removing mustafar, we could use the excess file space to make a room on the second floor or even re-add the third floor so that it is far away from other rooms to help reinforce the issue of people hearing the videos when they aren't in the OOC area.

The addon was broken for a while, pretty sure it had a back door at some point also? But I don’t think it was on the server at that point.

I do know it was broken for the longest time and that it was removed from the pack.

If it works again it would be dope to have them back.

From people saying OOC lounges cause lots of ear rape and setting up the audio for the media player would be hard pretty sure these are both easy fixes. From how it was previously it was very rarely actually a problem and all things can be checked and prevented. Like for instance the video can be checked by staff before playing the video if it is behind a wall only allowing staff to interact with it. For audio I’m pretty sure with some media players you can only hear it if you interact with the screen. So leakage can be prevented, Players putting on stupid shit would be prevented by staff. Even if the ROOM is OOC rules still apply so this can prevent people from going absolute monkey shit in these rooms and be enforced by staff to prevent it from happening.

I would say it should be fine, I mean there’s a TV that I used on Mexican border RP that only plays sound if you interact with it and you can see who puts shit on it so I mean I’d be down to have a Media player in the server again

Thats the one I was thinking of, Its very easy to manage and moderate what plays and who plays it.

Edit: Meme's aside, lots of server performance and client side issues led to it being removed. Also yes, porn was a problem. Youtube at the time was pretty bad about allowing adult material and snuff films on there.
