Bring back defcon 6

Suggestion: bring back defcon 6 

Implementation: put it the defcon hud in the top right, why you may ask it just feels off not having it, we go from 5 to 4 which still means search the base and be on alert but when the base isn’t being attacked having it be on 4 makes no sense bring back 6 and have 5 be alert again

I believe that the High Alert / Patrol the Base status works fairly well. When the Defcon is called you sweep the base, but once the base is clear you just patrol around and be ready for an attack. I don't see the issue. -1

There never had been a use for defcon 5, it makes sense from an RP perspective hit just doesn’t transition well in game

When we had 6 DEFCONs 5 was never used. Event happens = DEFCON 3 Event Ending = DEFCON 4 Event Ends = DEFCON 6

DEFCON 4 as of right now is Patrol the Base and/or High Alert and works fine and is less of a hassle.

I actually disagree with you there @Marvel.

I know it wasn't used at all, but Defcon 4 the way we have it now is way to vague, I have for a few occasions used Defcon 4 as a "High Alert" status and people were getting annoyed because they spent a few minutes searching the base when it was just meant as High Alert as we had a VIP on base and wanted to make sure they were secured.

I feel as though if we don't add Defcon 6, then maybe the wording or understanding of what Defcon 4 currently is should be updated to make more sense to the majority of the community.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. If the entire base has been searched there should be a Defcon between "High Alert" and "Completely Fine" It usually goes that its Defcon 4 for way too damn long and random guys yell at you and ask why you're not searching base. +1

Wich TBH you would be patrolling on High Aleart.

To add on to what I said earlier, when Defcons are called it is required to /advert as well as use the command to change the HUD. When you do the advert, you could clear it up by saying /advert Defcon 4, patrol the base! or /advert Defcon 4, be on alert troopers! That's generally what I do. Honestly, adding another defcon isn't necessary. There are far more hassle-free ways of making things less confusing. 

And if Defcon 4 is called and it's unclear, just search and clear the base and then patrol and be on alert. If people yell at you for not spamming comms with "BCC IS CLEAR!!" then tell them to use their heads.

-1. I think the system is fine how it is. Like Foxey said, if you are calling Defcons, just state what it is you want people to be doing during Defcon 4.

-1 When it was 1-6 defcons 4/5 was basically seen as the same thing. Right now I think having the 1-5 system makes more sense.

Positive:
- Makes DEFCON 4 less vague
- Allows Base Ops to keep the base prepared without fully disrupting Trainings and stuff
- People treat DEFCON 4 like old DEFCON 5 and don't actually clear the base
- Lots of troops don't listen to BO but will listen to DEFCON so grants more control

Negatives:
- People camp outside DB
- More DEFCONs to move through, prolonging events
- Tad underused
- Could be needless as You can give a command along side DEFCON

 

I'm neutral because either way Base Ops will get yelled at

People already do this, are you on during DEFCON 4 because people rarely clear the base and DEFCON 5 just gets called anyway

that seems like it's on the CO's to handle. The last thing we need is to add to the problem is to add another defcon which people will ignore

I will make this my final response for you because I don't want to make a shouting match out of this but relying on COs has never worked before, to be perfectly honest alot of COs are really shit at responding to DEFCONs  alot don't even follow DEFCON 3 and will just follow the combat. This is about giving BO more control over what happens because gods knows no one respects anything BO does outside of calling DEFCONs

People do this on 4 now just like was said before the base could be fully secure and you still gonna have people searching the base for what reason? Bring back 6 and when interrogation is going on or med rp you can just smack it to 5 and call it a day that way no more getting yelled at for standing around.

+1 i can think on multiple occasions where i would've liked to use defcon 5 but i couldn't and people get annoyed when they are patrolling for a few minutes even though it is meant as just high alert.
