This whole voting process has turned Synergy into a war zone. Factions of people fighting against factions of others. People who would -1 the other app JUST because they want to see the other as BCMD, not based on the merits of the actual application. This is so sad to see. We're all here pretending we're Star Wars characters on an outdated videogame. I promise NONE of it is that deep. You want to know the truth? You're right. We have very little choice in a lot of these matters. So what? As much as I hate legacy picks, it's over. They made it to interview. Truthfully, if we ran solely on majority vote, the server would die in a month. Similarly, if 241st wasn't in such a BAD position on the server, Bana never would have applied. Honestly, Conrad, I don't know what happened. You used to be a chill dude. Now all I see from you are posts that cause more drama. Why would you even make this? Are you, as a former Chancellor, one to talk about favoritism by the server leadership? If you had cared so much for 241st, you never would have left. You rank skipped a LT-MAJ minutes before you left JUST so he could apply. Over your whole term, did you not consider your replacement? Now that you've left, and things MIGHT not go your way after, you think to come here and spark even MORE drama? Who do you think yourself to be? Do you think you're the hero of Synergy by driving a wedge between all of these players? Also, you have NO room to talk about favoritism. I personally have caught and clipped you doing heavy ERP with event jobs on the server. We would have banned a new player for this. You didn't even get a scratch. You're very quick to call out favoritism by leadership when you yourself have gotten away with bannable offenses in the last month. All of Synergy needs to see this for what it is. This is a videogame. There is NO reason we should have this sort of drama so actively pushed by our server legacy members, and there is no reason we should let it change our moods while playing this game. This is sooooo cringe bro you guys were so unhappy that a guy you don't love didn't get denied at the application stage that you banded together to make a post and show off how tough you and your posse is The nature of this post is in no way the way you are trying to show it to be. This isn't a rule clarification genuine post where you are genuinely curious on the criteria for clarification purposes this is a "Why didn't Bana get denied" post where you express your frustration that things aren't going your way and search for a rule that can be counted as broken so that it does go your way. While the waive rules being broken are fair to call out, to be completly honest with you its 100% nitpicking. You hunted down any possible rule he could've broken then launched it onto with a snide and cheeky grin on your face as a gotcha moment. Personally speaking, I feel as though his qualifications and past experience proving that he is more than capable of the duties entailed by a BCMD should negate the need for him to be a WO or higher as it is realistic to assume that he'd be experienced with duties that are expected of a WO or higher but I digress. You found that rule so you could try and get him and for no other reason. This guy gets it. Conrad you are probably one of the people who has benefited from favoritism the most and its crazy to be calling it out. Additionally, their are rules around waives that say you must be atleast a WO. Why was bana an exception? This is just favoritism. Any other excuse is a lie. I have reported both directors to their superiors. You may close this if you wish, i have my answer.

How I see this post is like 50/50 yes i can understand that people are upset about some decision and why they are upset about those decision because what is stated in the rules about the waives. but i can also see this post was somewhat unneeded or in a sense of ask/made differently then what it is right now. I also feel sometimes that there is a lot of biased sometimes about some decision (this is just how i see it). but that is sadly how humans behave. Honestly I was boutta say something like this after I got off of work, this whole post did come off as something with the intentions of starting discourse and drama. forcing the hands of HC to get your way instead of simply you know, sending a discord dm or simply taking to them

You guys forget Turf Fish got a BCMD interview and he was a minge who'd been banned very recently several times. There's nothing wrong with giving an interview to a long time trusted member of the community when the -1s barely outweighed the +1s. As former recent HC I loved hearing out every interview regardless of my opinions or others votes. Interview is 100x more important than what people's friends think on the forums.

I actually appreciate this reply, even if it looks bad that’s it’s still a HC member defending potential HC bias. Clorox is probably the most trusted person within HC atm. can you give some examples of individuals that have made it to interview with more -1s than +1s tho?

Current votes as of now since being moved to pending: Positive 15 Negative 19 I counted manually, so +-1 on either side. We've accepted this type of candidate for interview before. A lot of times in the past, we've looked at the action of the person when they're in leadership positions. I fully realize there is a large majority of people from the outside of the battalion in support & a large portion inside that don't, usually that type of divide goes to interview to compare and contrast the vision for the battalion based of the people's answers. I'm pretty sure Conrad is aware of that as well. When it comes to waive rules, I think having rules around a waive is just dumb asf, it's called a waive for a reason. Realistically this is not without precedent. Off the top of my head alone I can think of Xaze's push from Fox to Recon RCMD.

Question: What is the criteria to pass to a interview for a BCMD position? Comments/Concerns: A recent commander app was moved to interview, despite having more -1's then +1's. This is very concerning as a player as how am i supposed to take this as anything other then blatant favoritism on the side of the director team? Do our votes even matter? Do our voices matter? Old man here to add my 2 cents. Yes, there has been bias in HC in the past. I'm sorry Conrad, but you were definitely the Golden Child back in the day. But that was the past not now. Granted I tend to stay away from the Drama of the server. To answer your question, I know the Directors and HC always look to improving and keeping the server alive. I've been on the back end of being rejected for a waive or losing a position to another player who they thought would be a better pick, and they were right. (Okay @Ratioyou can dumb me now)

Somehow, you missed the entire point of that post. I’ll remind you, I -1 Bana. My post was not because I support him for BCMD. My problem is with Conrad and everybody else here causing drama on a roleplay server. Everybody here pretending to be outraged by this was mad when Bana posted his application in the first place. Don’t pretend this is about the rules. Clearly, those rules were put in place to stop some random from coming and wasting our time with a nothing BCMD application. I’ll also point out that nobody here calling out the rules has ever made a peep the countless other times they’ve been broken. I’d be willing to bet not a single one even knew about these guidelines before this post went up. I think it’s really sad that you guys have nothing better to do than sit here and whine about this. Believe it or not, we don’t always get what we want. I didn’t want Bana as the BCMD, but at least I can accept that he might get it anyways. Go find something actually worth getting angry about. Stop dividing the community and needlessly causing drama over this.

You do Realize Klein still had to get waived correct? He was not MAJ long enough to straight up apply, also the issue is there is clearly stated rules that Directors put in place to make sure people are WO+ for minimum 4 straight weeks in the battalion before they can go for a waive and they let Bana waive 2 ranks early that is why people are upset lol. Hope The facts help clear your mind

the best BCMDs are the ones the battalion never wanted. It's like dads with dogs they said no to getting but they got them anyway

bless up i entirely forgot about this change. real talk tho why we letting bana through, like what makes him the exception? I wont deny he's done some good stuff but if this rule is in place to why would we bypass it for him

As someone who has been in the position of accepting/denying CMD apps with mixed community votes in the past if the votes were off by a few the only time I would ever move it forward was with a HC vote which required a unanimous decision to move it to pending. Which never actually happened so I avoided that PR disaster lol. It is technically up to the Director’s discretion however regardless of the outcome of the interview the votes should always be brought into consideration when making a final decision. Regardless insight should be given to the community. If a HC vote transpired we should be made aware. If Directors just decided to do this on their own free will then that’s a huge fumble and I’m sure they’ll lose a lot of trust from the community. Edit: Maybe something that should require a written rule/disclaimer perhaps. Or just outright gotten rid of.

I would also like to know. It sure looks like this is bias in favor of current leadership, and I would hate to think that the High Command team would be so openly bias towards something as important as BCMD apps.

I’d also like to hear more about the process from apps opening to a candidate being accepted.

Prolly just a close to somewhat comparable amount of +1's? Even then when was the last time someone was denied at the application stage? Were there votes literally only -1's? What was the ratio? Is this truly a bias scenario?

I personally think the interview phase is what really matters but I do think that more people should be involved within the interview phase and who determines who gets what. I honestly think that CMDs of the battalion should be involved or at least be present in the interview. Just to hear it
