Steam Name: Mercy

RP Name: Commander Thorn

RP Rank: Commander

Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:80189409

Battalion or squad you are applying for: Coruscant Guard

Experience:

Doom’s Unit (PVT - XO)

I joined Doom’s Unit in May of 2018. I worked my way through the ranks reaching CMD and becoming XO under Ghoul. I was Disciplinary Director for Doom’s Unit until I took up The Intel Director Position. While I was an NCO I found the most fun in training. This was back in the days DU would sit in ER and do nothing during events. I tried to host different trainings whenever I had guys that were interested in doing them. Working my way through the ranks I was constantly trying to improvise ways to make the battalion have more fun. People want to be on when they see leadership actively engaging the battalion and not AFK. I was promoted To CMD and given the role of disciplinary director. During this time I Cracked down on the minging image DU had. No more FFA in bunks. I decided not to run for Doom as XO as I was burnt out on GMOD at the time. After Baddog resigned Ghoul asked me to be ITD. He did not know I would go on to serve in this position under the next 14 Dooms.

DU ITD

Where do we start? I served from 6/9/2018 until January 2022. During my run Me and my team implemented 3 different rosters. We made constant updates and changes depending on the current Dooms requirements and Preference. If I was needed at any point I wanted The current Doom to know I was only a message away.

Doom’s Unit (2ndLT - LTC)

I returned to actively playing on the server in the fall of 2021. I joined Doom’s Unit. I decided to try out for Lancer. During my time as an officer I noticed DU had AV-7 training and no one was hosting it. I took it upon myself to become a trainer and encourage others to as well. I tried to do anything I could if I believed it would help the battalion. We don't talk about the ENGO thing.

Coruscant Guard (2ndLT - CMD)

I decided in November that I wanted to do something different. I had been a DU for my entire time on Synergy Roleplay. I talked to Noodles who allowed me to transfer into CG as a 2ndLT. My first month I spent getting to know the battalion and how it operates. CG is very different from DU. Once I got the lay of the land I noticed Heavy was a dead branch. I didn’t like that. I Became HVYL and Jek. I reworked HVY and HVO tryouts and started recruiting. At its peak I was Tied for the most troops in a branch. Moving through the ranks I moved into Thorn and Became REGL. I believed there were other people who were ready to lead HVY to Glory.

Why should you become a Battalion Commander?:

I have served under a lot of BCMDs. I have seen some succeed and some fail. I have learned something from all of them even if it's what not to do. I believe With all of their knowledge combined I can Lead this battalion to where it needs to be. I come to the table with a level head ready to solve the problem presented. I am able to adapt to changing situations and develop solutions to complex problems.

I plan to install a command team over the next few months that will assist me. I Believe a strong leadership team will allow the battalion to thrive. Dividing the work between commanders allows one person not to get overloaded.

Do you understand the lore of your battalion or squad?: Yes

Saturday: 12PM- 2AM

Estimate of how long you've played on Synergy Roleplay?:

2786:29:18

Do you have a microphone?:

Yes.

Where do you want your battalion or squad to be at the end of your term?:

Updates: We have a lot of docs and channels that have fallen out of date. We need to update these and get them out ASAP. Our guys and gals need correct information to do their jobs correctly. Once the new map drops(June 1?) we will need to reevaluate to make sure our information is still relevant. My goal is to have all documents Updated for the Next BCMD.

Recruitment: Recruits are the future of the Coruscant Guard. I have started a recruitment drive with incentives. I plan to add a recruiter of the week and Trooper of the month position and add to incentives. A new Tryout doc is also on the way to help with some confusion troopers had about recruiting. My goal is to have a good Ratio of officers:NCO:Enlisted.

Officer Core: I am looking to bring in more active promising recruits. Where we stand now I have 2 Active Junior Officers and One active Senior Officer. I am not planning on mass promoting anyone but we have an excess of people showing they deserve a chance. My goal is to have an active officer core who can give direction to lower NCOs. My goal is to have an Officer core that can mentor NCOs and respond to complaints or issues.

Legacy/Reserve: A rework to this system is needed. I don't want to remove this system as I feel all of the former high command have proven they are an asset. The reserve system we run is causing some problems and at the least needs to be reworked on the ranks. I will handle people on a case by case basis depending why they need to be moved to reserve.

My goal is to have this battalion running like a well oiled machine for the next Fox.

Do you understand that if you go inactive that you will be removed from your position?:

Yes.

Do you understand that your position has a three month term limit and you must reapply after three months to maintain your commander rank?:

Yes.

Before I vote, I have some questions. While I’m not super knowledgeable about the inner workings of CG, they have seemed to gone through this cycle of having massive changes promised and more issues arising over the past six months. How will you combat this? Activity in CG’s officer corps has been an issue since I joined the server. How will you incentivize activity in your officer corps? You often talk about “The next BCMD” in your application, which shows you’re thinking ahead towards the future. This begs the question, do you plan to leave anything, (systems, docs, programs, etc), new for the next BCMD?

Issues Arising: Battalion feedback is critical. I want to place systems into place that the battalion wants. I don't want to go and turn everything upside down. Systems always have issues. I need to be able to Fix issues as they arise. I would like everything to go into place smoothly. But I will be prepared if issues arise.

Officer Core incentives: The Officer core needs to have objectives to work towards. I plan on involving the officer corps in various projects. One project will be a Weekly Training program. I plan to have Officers involved more in the Mentoring of NCOs. Officer guidelines will also be put into place to help Officers know their roles better

The next BCMD: We have multiple docs we are currently making. There are some systems we are currently tinkering with to help with development of Future Officers. My main focus at the start of my term is recruitment. Our recruitment department has been lacking recently. I started a recruitment drive with incentives. We have since greatly improved. I have some short term and long term goals. I hope all of these will help the future of the battalion.

After reading this +1. You seem to be pretty prepared for the position, and I hope that going forwards 212th and CH can form a stronger relationship!
