  1. 5/5/5 Very unique!
  2. I think it's been long enough to re-ignite this discussion. Resume the use of the event server! Player population is back. Yesterday and today, the server is up to 80 players. I don't see how player pop was ever a factor in this decision, considering most if not all deployments only took some of the server offline for an hour or two MAX. Even then, if you had a 20 player deployment, that's not 20 people LESS on the main server, it's 5 or 10 less. Most players in a deployment join straight onto the event server, and get off before transitioning back to main. Also, player population is no excuse to severely downgrade the quality of events. All this being said, during prime time, player population is no longer an apparent issue, not nearly as bad as it was in the months before removing the event server from use. Quality of deployments In doing this, you've severely downgraded the quality of deployments. Full server deployments are fun occasionally, but I don't think anyone can argue that they're better than single battalion or single regiment deployments. Some of the highest quality events I've ever participated in were select-group deployments, which had stories that would only work with a small number of people, where exploration and full attention to the small aspects of the event was possible due to the small number of players. Events with no set-up time, and a huge player-base are hard to pull off, and almost impossible to pull off well with plenty of roleplay for everyone to do unless you're a master GM, or have a HUGE team that's all on the same page. No more set-up time Tying into the quality of events, having only main-server deployments also removes any reasonable amount of set-up time. Once the server loads in, everyone is impatient to get the event started, and having people stand in formation for more than 30 minutes starts to severely kill the mood. Game Masters are forced to rapid set-up, and almost never ever has a fantastic, very well executed deployment been done with no set-up. Some events also require on-site creativity on the part of the helpers to help them flow smoothly. They can't always be squeezed into one dupe. Having been an Admin here, and Game Master on other servers, set-up time is very important. Everyone MUST participate Part of the charm of having an event server for deployments is that people could choose to not participate in events they had no interest in. Not everyone wants to join a laggy map and fight endless waves of droids, especially not when the entire server is deploying. Sometimes players would rather stay on the main map and participate in the passive or active RP already happening on the base. Sure, I guess players could leave, but I don't see how forcing players to either do something they don't want to do, or leave the server is a good idea either. There have been a few times where I decided to stay back from deployments to take part in main-server shenanigans. Server performance Full server deployments, without fail have poor performance. This is why full server deployments were rare, and always very planned out with plenty of GMs lined up to help. Not only are they hard to pull off due to the player count, it's hard to not lag out the server while having plenty of droids for everyone to fight, unless you have a VERY linear path that everyone is forced into where you can very carefully control the entity count, but let's be honest, those are really never fun. Also, when a new player joins during a deployment, can't get trained, is lagging out and has NO clue what to do, do you think they're more likely to stay? Or leave to a server that they can actually participate in? All of this to say... This post is not an attack on the ability of Game Masters to make a fun and compelling event, but limiting events to this extreme measure also limits that ability significantly. I understand the original reason of player population, which I disagree with fundamentally regardless, but it's no longer an issue. The ability to do smaller-scale, higher quality deployments is a MUST for event quality. After the incredibly repetitive shoot-em-ups for the entire server, the events get dull, and drive people away to play on more interactive servers. Also, with the event server in use, no one has to worry about disrupting main-server on-goings by hosting a deployment, pissing off everyone that was actively doing something. What does everyone else think? I realize there has already been a post about this, but that was a month ago, and this topic should remain fresh in everyone's minds. I don't mean to step on toes, but I joined back 36 hours ago, and without fail everyone I've spoken to has disagreed with this decision. Myself included, I was astounded when I heard this! But what are everyone else's thoughts? If you agree, but have a different reason, why do you agree with me? If you disagree, and think you have a compelling reason why it should remain out of use, please tell! I'm interested.
  3. 3/4/3 Not my favorite, it felt like shooting enemies here, shooting enemies there, and I guess some sort of loose story that changed where we were shooting enemies Not bad, not the best IMO
  4. 4/4/5 Pretty good! Fun distraction from sitting on the map doing nothing.
  5. 5/5/5 We love and stan the early morning events Thanks G
  6. I certainly didn't leave in the best of terms, but I fully embrace and apologize for the mistakes I made before leaving. I'd love to try and get back into it. I truly miss y'all
  7. Oh, I see now, you said the whole order. It's been tried, it doesn't work. Not to mention, it's made entirely redundant by the announcements channel, suggestions channel, and other useful recourses that are available every day, as opposed to once a week.
  8. This is truly the white girl at Starbucks of Yoda applications. It's so basic and lacks any originality. First off, weekly meetings already a thing. You wouldn't be making them. This goes to show how little you actually know about how the order is run, which to me is a red flag for any Yoda. The entire rest of your application are plans that other applicants used as filler on their own apps. -1
  9. Bro he... He literally said everything you're saying... You quoted him saying that Bro fr did a /seen on him to roast him on the forums
  10. One step closer to the official removal of Senate
  11. -1 last thing Synergy needs is Grogu
  12. My point never was that these people left because of you, it was that these people are leaving. These were the people holding up the community, keeping the groups alive, but they're all getting burnt out because you either have to give 200% or you have to watch the thing you love die, and sometimes 200% isn't enough. We need help. Thank you for responding. I know you're weary, but the community needs this public knowledge. If we know that everyone from the top down is giving their all, then even if it dies we can all say we tried. When you're silent, or talking to BCMDs and not addressing the community, it just leads to infinitely more frustration and burnout because it feels like you guys don't care. When we ask you for help, we don't expect an immediate fix, but when the only founder in the main post only came to shit on us and elude to some big announcement that never came, it feels like you guys truly could not be bothered to give a fuck. I genuinely appreciate the clarification. I never stated the intentions of the people leaving, they did that in their own posts. The point was to show that your best players, your leaders, our leaders, are leaving in mass. We can't have a truly player-run community if all the players running it are leaving.
  13. Here's your prize. Well, Founders, here's your prize. 10 days ago the community rallied to get you to step up, and you have been radio silent. We were expecting some sort of news on October 15th, some big announcement from you, but we got nothing. Since then, true Synergy veterans and real ones have been dropping like fucking flies. Mavelle, your overworking roleplay Director, GM director, and probably the best GM of his time is gone. Jayarr, your long time developer and next in line to lead the High Command once Xaze left, gone. Lyonaxis, one of the longest standing Jedi Military Overseer, Bacara, and RCMD is gone. Dono, Admiral Yularen is gone. Clutch, a former Windu and the most recent Yoda, is gone. Tessa, leader of CG, is gone. Gears, former Director and Management, like him or not, the most dedicated leader of the Senate in a long time, is gone. There is no Marshal Commander OR Palpatine, leaving the high command without any leadership for the first time in a year. You have 8 Commander positions open, and not a single application. Most of the people who are applying don't even make it ONE full term anymore, You had a good thing going. Your sitting back and letting the people be in charge worked well for a while. Until it didn't. We asked you to step the fuck up, and you ignored and clowned on us. This big community meeting on the 15th was the community's last hope for some REAL ACTUAL big announcement, but where is it? You guys have failed at your job to keep the server alive and going, and refused to step up. Now your declining population, profits, and the slow burning away of any command structure there was will be your downfall. I understand as much as anyone having a job and a life outside of Synergy, but if you can't do the job, then leave. We asked you to STEP UP, or to STEP DOWN. If your lives are too busy to keep the server alive, or to step up and take an active role in the community when it's needed, then we asked you to leave, and let the people who can and will take your place. Now because you won't do either, you get to watch your server, the server you are at the top of, fall apart. You went from 66 player average, Monday, August 1st, to 20 player average, SATURDAY, October 1st, and an average of 14, SATURDAY, October 15. Every other stat has a significant, noticeable decline. Here's your prize. I hope you're happy.
  14. Why are people dumbing this? It's a real, genuine, valid take. He's absolutely right. Do you know the levels of anxiety you'd get coming back every hour to see if your heart and soul was on the chopping block? The announcement should be made after the polls are done, and the rest should stay quiet. Also tbh what purpose does RANCOR even serve?
  15. Man, it genuinely hurts to be losing all of these fantastic BCMDs. Good luck wherever you may go. CG will miss you as their BCMD!
