  1. I had to pop back in for this one. You were one of the guys who made Null amazing towards the end, good luck out there with life and stuff man. o7
  2. I'm a bit late to the party but you were a real one, good luck out in the world man.
  3. I mean I would argue that's untrue given that in the Star Wars Canon the only cloaking devices we know of are entire starships and it is not thermal imaging that is their weakness but magnetic signature detection. And I would be willing to bet that something as large as a starship would certainly emit more heat signature than a single human being in a temperature-regulated suit of armor (which is the entire point of the bodyglove worn under beskar'gam and clone armor). I can't "guarantee" anything, but as I said in my original argument I really don't believe having a few more people to detect cloakers is that big of a deal. The cloak is about stealth, it's about avoiding people who you know can detect you and slipping through doors that are either not being monitored or are being opened already by passers-by. While yes once the Republic is alerted to your presence it is easy to lock down the base and ensure they cannot escape, there is nothing stopping you from sheltering in place for a few moments or attempting some unique roleplay to escape your situation. As I said originally this type of deadlock encourages RP and more exciting gameplay. That's a good point, there is no real reason to make decisions based on countering other jobs on the server- and yeah, this is an RP server. I added the remark about countermeasure to spies and other cloaking jobs with Jetpacks as an added bonus, and not the main reason. The main point of my entire argument is simply that the entire SOBDE Battalion (literally just 4 or 5 additional jobs) should be able to detect cloaking individuals. There are obviously things here that we will not agree upon, even down to the technical details. But at the end of the day I believe that all of SOBDE might as well be able to see cloakers and I have clearly outlined my reasoning. If you wish to disagree, that is entirely up to you.
  4. Detecting cloaked individuals is tricky, as small-scale cloaking technology like on the server isn't really a thing we see in star wars. But I'd argue it would take some extra-high level of technology to be able to detect cloakers if they were a thing in Star Wars the way they are ingame. We know the Nulls have access to the highest level of technology out there, both in their Clone Armor as members of SOBDE and in their Beskar as literal trillionaires. I outlined the foundation for lore due to the fact that some above outlined flaws in the initial post's lore reasoning, but my main argument is that there's no real reason that the Nulls wouldn't / shouldn't be able to do what the rest of SOBDE can. It's four jobs (five if also applied to Kal, which imo it should be- as a a full-battalion permission), so it's not going to shatter the balance of detecting cloaked individuals, and in fact it may even work as a counterbalance to Guild Spies who purchase and use Jetpacks.
  5. There are plenty of reasons to believe that the Nulls would be capable of detecting cloaked enemies. The Republic Commando series outlines what the Null's Beskar'gam was capable of in a few passages, such as "Good things, helmets: nobody could hear what was being said on the comlink outside of the buy'ce unless you let them. Ordo was using all his state-of-the-art armor sensors to check for metal fatigue, leaks, and other mechanical faults. Skirata noted the readouts being relayed to his spanking-new HUD display" and "Ordo activated his helmet's infrared filter, adjusted it to its most sensitive setting, and cast around on a square search of a twenty-meter grid . . . Ordo switched from infrared to the penetrating sensor. It was like checking in mail slots, a tedious progression from one hole to the next." And those are just excerpts from like two chapters of True Colors, I'm pretty sure I recall many other instances of high-tech thermal imaging or other types of sensors. There's no hiding from a Null. In lore, at least. Their clone armor was incredibly high-tech as well, with them making several upgrades to it throughout the course of the war- so I don't think it's too much of a stretch for their armor to be capable of the same thing the RC Armor is capable of (especially since the Nulls could take their pick of any Republic Technology they wanted seeing as they could get into anything and everything). +1, allow it overall and not just when wearing Beskar'gam. I think the Null-Class ARCs being the only members of SOBDE who cannot see cloaked individuals has always been a bit annoying and dumb. Just round it out that all of SOBDE can see cloakers. As someone who owns the Guild Spy whitelist I can tell you that even with 10 people online who can see cloakers it's still possible to sneak around, you just actually have to try to be stealthy, which is much more fun and rewarding anyways.
  6. +1 I think it makes a lot of sense for ARF to get this. ARF Troopers would definitely have been the ones tasked with rangefinding. Just give the rocket launchers to the Heavy classes once Support get the mortar and I think it'll be very balanced with Heavy Troopers using their Z6 and Rockets to push up and clear buildings while ARF lay back with their mortars and snipers and engage the enemy at range.
  7. Generally if you want to pretend to be someone else (or pretend to be a Clone when you're not or something) you just need to specify that in your message, for example, I've seen people do /comms *Clone Voice Changer* (whatever text goes here), so you could probably do /comms *Sounding like PERSON* (whatever text goes here)

    Watch hand

I've always worn watches on my non-dominant hand and I was told once that this is to protect your watch from being knocked around as much as you usually do things with your dominant hand (obviously) but at the end of the day, as with everything, it is ultimately a comfort thing- particularly if it's a cheaper watch
  9. I'm inclined to agree that the position of Regimental Commander is essentially useless in terms of the overall health of the Clone Side of the server. Vacancies in Regimental positions have plagued the server for years (for my entire Wolffe term I don't think we had a Specialized Regimental, and if we did, he never communicated with us) and yet battalions have continued to operate fine in most instances- and when a Regimental Commander has needed to step in for things, it has usually been the entirety of High Command stepping in, rendering having one individual to handle that task rather pointless. While I understand Regimental Commander is likely meant to serve as a way for BCMDs to dip their toes into the waters of High Command before taking on the task of overseeing all of the battalions on the server, it does ultimately just end up being a burnout position. There's nothing hands on to keep yourself busy with which is what most people become BCMD to do... be hands on- get involved- take action- lead. We could remove Regimentals from the server tomorrow and I honestly think little would change. While we're at it, though... do we really need Regiments? Sure, they serve as a tidy way of organizing battalions under the three Regimentals but other than that I don't see much merit in the regimental structure. If Regimental Commanders went bye-bye, I'd argue the Regiments should too. Battalions are going to work with the battalions they want to work with regardless of what organizational structure they fall under either way.
  10. Vanilla is for sure the best thing to get into, get somewhere, take a break, and come back to. As far as long-term goes I agree with Conrad, modded is poo. But most of my time on Minecraft has been spent on Skyblock or minigame servers, so.
  11. I'll try to voice my opinion without being overcome by the nostalgia of just enjoying everything more back then than I do now... Back in the day my favorite weapon was the Dual Pistols that sort of screeched as you shot them. I can't remember what they were called, but boy oh boy they were fun. And I'd occasionally just resort to using my DC15S or DC15A and it's like Ratio said, I actually felt like I had a chance. Nowadays it takes a hot second to kill a droid with a Cycler or a Westar, which essentially means the default weapons as well as pretty much all pistols are completely useless. I've owned the ZX Flamethrower for a long time, and honestly, I didn't really ever feel like using it until after all of the changes that nerfed the basic weapons and made using god-tier weapons the only viable option to survive. It's a kill-or-be-killed world, and every time someone pulls out an RC Shotgun I go from "this is a roleplay situation that might end in a firefight" to "BHOP AND FLAMETHROWER OR I DEFINITELY DIE" I'd personally love to see the weapon balancing update they have in the works include a nerf of the common permaweapons as well as the store bought ones, a buff to class weapons, and a return to the good old days of every weapon being somewhat viable and deciding which to use based on how cool it looks or sounds. Plus like Marvel said it'd be a massive bonus to ARF if they got the best sniper, as opposed to everyone with a Jetpack being capable of 2-shot sniping. But then I'd also like to see the hangar on Anaxes as well as the Courtyard downsized by a fuckton so that I can feel the same way I used to when people were lined up in that tiny Endor MHB fending off a massive droid assault by going in and out of the rayshield. Some things about the old days were just better than what we've got now.
  12. +1 I think the newer models would be super cool to roll around in while the Nulls are in their Phase 1, and they are more lore-accurate overall.
  13. 8/10 I like passive RP events a lot- this is one of those things that ran for a long time and made it feel like the server was much more alive than it was with so many people deployed.
  14. Name: Foxey Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:101435744 Staff Rank: Senior Administrator Are you VIP?: Yes Date: May 17th Reason for leaving: I do not have the time to give to both staff and RP, and obviously as this is a game I spend my free time playing, I'd much rather do the RP than the staff work. Farewells: I'll still be around on the server

    bud moments

He actually came back about an hour after the initial home-flex and did a second tour and showed off his bar again and more of his house, that was a pretty interesting evening.
  16. Ayo, class of 2021. Me and the boys went and got like 10 dozen free donuts from Krispy Kreme today.
  17. I didn't know you that well, but over the time we've talked both in TS and on Discord I've come to respect not only your ideas but your ability to communicate and work with others. You have my absolute support. +1
  18. You've been the go-to for guild matters for me for a long time, honestly in my head you're already the face of the guild and I think making it official and ensuring that you can get done everything you want to get done is definitely something work doing. +1
  19. I was virtual first semester and I can honestly say it sucked. I had a good time and did okay with my classes but the harsh learning curve coming back to face-to-face for second semester was a bitch because most of us had struggled to grasp entire concepts or missed them entirely. In person is just so much better.
  20. You were a guy I looked up to when I first came to Synergy, I'm glad you're back and in SOBDE. You're a natural leader and a nice guy, best of luck to you! +1

    Walk around in a LAAT

+1 If the server could handle it I could see this being very fun and very cool.

    Naval rules?

I've contacted the Admiral @Brace and he'll respond later today.
  23. You did good Robb, you really did- until real life bit you in the ass at least, but you'll recover. Looking forward to some bedwars soon man. o7
  24. 8/10 It was a pretty good concept that I believe was executed fairly well for what it was, I had a good time- thanks for the deployment :)
