Might be because I’m starting to outgrow video games but I still like to play Gmod and play visual novels but idk. Is it just me? Any game recommendations? Nade Jones Posted February 4, 2019 Report Share Posted February 4, 2019 They say as age increases the magic disappears from gaming but its not so much from the quality of games decreasing I think its more of the current Market out there, Just like the Film industry the gaming industry is not prepared to take risks, game studios can release franchised games because there is a very very high chance that it will outsell previous titles just because its part of that franchise, for example, Call of Duty, Fifa etc (Which they can continue to just re-release with minimal effort or implementation between each game) After all its a business, Triple A game developers want to make as much money whilst spending the least they can. Theres also the whole idea of games following trends back then it used to be survival games now obviously we have the battle royale, and soon there will be another trend which game developers will mindlessly pump out and dominate the market with. If you truly wish to find some originality within games I recommend searching within Indie titles normally smaller studios work on indie games and they most likely do it for passion rather than to make money, so I think thats you best bet. If you like grinders (my personal favorite): Warframe Payday 2 Dead by Daylight If you like Team Based Combats: The QUAKE scene is... there And also every MOBA is kinda alive [except heroes of the storm lol] Obviously counter strike If you wanna dick around with friends: Minecraft. Never fails. Magicka campaign Castle Crashers Campaign Don't starve together If you want something very old but very different (by today's standards): "Build and Shoot" (previously Ace of Spades) Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 &/ 2 MW2 [modded quickscope only lobbies or just the campaign] Black ops 1 [just the campaign] ALL half lifes Mount and Blade: Warband Portal Postal 2 If you want a solo adventure you'll enjoy: Terraria Halo Campaign Mafia Any GTA game before IV (san andreas, vice city, III, etc) Super Mario Sunshine [if your pc can run it/have a gamecube] DEADBOLT [Fucking indie masterpiece, literal 10/10] Other: OSU! Like seriously, the game has maybe 3 hours of content, but my first playthrough was like 35 hours. And the new DLC is out and still being worked on, none of this half-assed stuff that triple A titles make. The studio listens to the community and the game is just fan fucking tastic. Companies are going for quantity not quality games (Take a look at all CoD, Battlefield, FIFA, Madden NFL, NHL, and mainstream games, it should take a company more than 8 months to shit out a game. Rush Cat Posted February 9, 2019 Report Share Posted February 9, 2019 I usually approach most new game releases with caution now, which sucks but maybe that's just my rose-tinted nostalgia goggles thinking older games were better. Although at the same time we still have some amazing games that come out, they just take much, much longer than the annual titles that we see everywhere. I think the thing I am the most sad about currently is that there are not any really good Star Wars games coming out. When I grew up there were shit loads of amazing Star Wars games that I still play to this day but it's just fallen off. RIP my boy Lucas Arts. Link to comment

The community and even the RP on there is rich, but the gameplay can be a tiny bit grindy. Excellent story lines though, and a beautiful game with friends to make it less grindy. I currently am a dark honor guard in it, but in a secondary guild I am part of a battalion known as the first mobile fleet. Me and my fellow dark honor guard to left and right of back couch. Hard to see with damn name tags. Me and a buddy chatting in the IFMF. I always make fun of his height in character. Thankfully servers aren't hosted by anyone except bioware.
