EOD-Engineering Sub-unit/unit

Name: Nobie

Suggestion: EOD/Engineer Sub-unit/unit

Implementation: Engineering - bomb defuse and other tehnician roleplay for people who actually want to do this kind of stuff

Lore: Clone ordnance specialists were specialized clone troopers in the Grand Army of the Republic, trained to disarm and dispose of bombs and explosive devices. This was often considered one of the most dangerous jobs in the army and required a gentle touch, steady nerves, well-trained dexterity, and a sense of how machines work from the troopers. The troopers served during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems.[ Besides deactivating bombs, bomb squad members would also safeguard stores of disabled bombs in hostile conditions, such as during the middle of a battle. Bomb squad troopers wore phase I clone trooper armor following with phase II as the rest of the army, customized with orange marking and an insignia  on the left shoulder to signify their bomb disposal role.

If you are asking to add or change a job, fill out the following

Add or Change: Add

Job:  EOD Trooper  , EOD Specialist

Model:the ones from the addon (there is trooper which is customable)

Weapons: EOD Trooper :DC-15a , DC-15s , DC-17 , repair tool

EOD Specialist : DC-15a,DC-15s,DC-17,repair tool , breaching charge

Other:I have just got this idea when I was thinking about the base ops reopening just I have tried and wrote this suggestion .

I think it could be good to have it as sub-regiment so the base ops would do their stuff as assignements , atc and other and this could be used for Base Engineers and EOD Specialists

Or it should work as independent small Engineering Unit

So people who actually want to become and Engineer for Base Ops would be assigned to this as a part of ENG Base Ops Branch not to Clone Navigator

I guess this is gonna receive negative respond but well atleast I have tried

Seems like another rm to me. If a medical battalion didn't work what makes you think this will

Well Engineers in Base Ops was a thing and people were doing actually something and I think this would bring more imersion instead od Fleet Navigator doing engineer job

I think you have missunderstood the thing. I don't want them be used mainly for EOD but for Engineering as I think Engineering is not dead on Synergy

Even then, there's an engineering branch in Base ops. When base ops is back up and running, under new management there will hopefully be good leadership with it.

This is what I am saying! That Base Ops Has an Engineering branch and this should be used instead of Clone navigators and base ops officers the Engineering branch would use these

Overall I do not believe that adding them as an entirely new thing would work (With their own models etc), the reason for this is that they would ultimately outgrow their usage and finding people to fill up the numbers would be rather difficult, now if they became a subunit of a battalion then I could understand however the models would have to be completely redone to fit the colour scheme of said battalion. For now, I am going to -1 this suggestion.

-1 The server already has a variety of battalions and we do not need more added. If anything was to change with the number of battalions it should be removing inactive ones.

Well or Switch the inactive one for something more interesting

-1 Synergy has already tried this sort of stuff 2 times, first time engineering with the 38th and the second was medical with RM. I don’t think this will work unless it gets limited to a small amount of people.

It would not be a full scale regiment just small unit as reg would not make sense

Unit or sub-unit not battalion

if you want them to be a subunit or a unit. First a sub-unit needs to be taken by some battalion. If you want it to be a unit like RC then you still need someone to replace it with. still a fat -1

while the idea itself is good, there is simply not enough EOD or Tech or ENG experiences to go around. On top of that, having EOD medics and commanders and heavys etc, would contradict authority with ENGL and such. Essentially you're asking to create a battalion with their sole purpose being to defuse bombs. Also, SOBDE usually handles these kinds of things which would undoubtedly cause some conflict. The idea is good, but much like a Utopia, would never work.

This is a -1 from me.

Maybe if the battalions who are qualified (GM or SOBDE) would go and actually want to RP, we wouldn’t have suggestions like this.

-1.

As EOD is GM jurisdiction and i don't want Base ops to have even more on there plate, I'm -1

GM host it when requested as well as every now and again, we regulated and we monitor the training to the best of out abilities and we have been doing it for a long time.

Having an EOD trooper seems pointless, just adding a job that probably won't ever be used because everyone who is trained can disarm a bomb.

Adding a job when more jobs is not what we need, in my opinion. is a really stupid idea and will just make it more confusing.

GM love EOD and TECH RP, do it get used in events a lot, NO. that's where the problem lies, not in the training not being done, most people on the server have EOD or TECH, It's that no one really does bombs based events or events with bombs in them.

What? Were you expecting some colourful thing denoting my past achievements?

Well tough luck, even if I did it would be just 3 things - Bacara, SPEC REG, Old HA.

-1 I've seen this bat on those 20 pop servers who never grow and slowly die. This is like a great value brand of any fucking battalion. Literally look like shit, have shit numbers, don't do shit, and are shit. There's not even Jango clones in there. They just found a way to make shit sentient and all it can do is play with bombs.

From what I've seen, it is legit the most inactive and unused bat in even populated ones that I've seen. Plus it will only draw numbers away from other bats and would put GM in a worse situation.

I mean anyone can get ENG trained, so I don't think having an entire sub-unit or battalion would be useful, considering the amount of engineers we already have.

but yo for real give that model to 212th shit is tight.
