Staff Members Wrong-Doing: mocking a player

Explain the situation:So what happened was that there was an event with senate commandos we tried taking their weapons and GM said no (even though its CG's decision) then called CG off of the escort all in all *literally CG's job* And then i said in game chat "okay cool take away CG's only fucking purpose on the ship" then orlando went to me and mocked me and my voice basicly saying what i said then i told him to fuck off and that i would not listen to someone who is gonna sit there and mock me i dont think that someone in his position should be able to get away with mocking someone just because they said something about their event

I mean it’s very immature and childish for Orlando to do but I don’t think it warrants a report but it should be brought up for future talks about his ability to stay mature in staff neutral

While I agree that it was very immature, and a GM shouldn't ever be doing that, I don't think it warrants a report. I *DO* however think that Orlando should reflect on his actions, and should try and improve his attitude in the future.

Overall it was a very, very immature thing for Orlando to do and GM should know better then to stop CG doing their job [Unless no CG are present and GM are the closest ones there], this doesn't warrent a report in my opinion however I think Orlando should be spoken to in some manner about this incident and told to reflect on his actions leading to an apology to Holo.

Overall I am going to remain NEUTRAL as this doesn't really warrent a report but at the same time Orlando should apologise and be spoken to about his actions.

gamemaster doesn't want the event to be ruined because some cg want to strip weapons and comms of senate commandos, a branch of the republic senate that protects senators

 

CG have no jurisdiction to strip their weapons and comms unless they are hostile or are found plotting against the republic

The gamemaster shouldn't have denied a thing that was carried out in RP, he should have used the skill of improv he's meant to have as a GM. This shouldn't be a "abuse" case but should be taken up the heirchy of the Game Master program. Nothing was abused just some bad decisions for an event. The discussion about CG "jurisdiction" should be had. So -1.

A game masters job is to make good events. If the game master can't adapt to player choice then they need a different idea. People are going to be like this and be very cautious, it's is your job to adapt to that

Okay you guys want my input, I understand that CG are doing their jobs but do you guys forget what you guys learn when you first join everyone invited on the ship is friendly instead you guys treat them as hostile. Another when I talked to you I was not mocking you I told you that hey I understand your doing your job but they are not hostile and to remind of that rule but instead you didn’t want to listen so I continued with my event. And when I already had a naval tell them that there was no reason to strip their weapons. Now I offered to talk to holo instead he declined the offer. You can’t talk to someone if they don’t want to listen I feel disrespected that he would say I was mocking him when everyone in the teamspeak channel even heard me say I was going to help him. And don’t let me start on how you were disrespecting me. @Medic @BigZach

Doc your really looking at this the wrong way. I’m not nor was I mad at CG.  I had a naval just in case that would happen. Now I wasn’t forcing any outcome in that event if you checked the AAR there was 2 possible outcomes. Depending on the players and what they did. Now again to the rule if they are invited to the ship they treated as a friendly and for RP sake why would you strip a senators and his guards. @Doc

dont assume every thing on the ship is automatically a hostile. Jesus Christ do you not pay attention to CC training. Besides, as Senate Commandos their job is to protect the Senators of the Republic. They have their given duties and orders from the Supreme Chancellor himself.

Okay so I'm going to put myself out there and say that its an oof with no evidence, however had he mocked you and stuff that is not worthy of staff.

 

This is not a job for us however we represent the community and founders when we handle situations and @Orlando If you feel like you're being disrespected please never retaliate against a player you reach out to a higher up if you're unsure how to conduct yourself in the situation. 

 

I do NOT think a report is needed, I simply think this should have been handled by a higher ranking staff that is not biased and can advise the staff member.

But instead he didn’t want to talk so I carried on. Now my job as a GM is to make events and make sure the player base is enjoying them if there are 96 players on and only 95 enjoyed the event at the end of the day I did my job.

-1 this is ridiculous drama, even when I was participating in events the gm would specially tell cg to interact withevrnt jobs a certain way, and they just plain didn't care, with my previous experiences like this, it all looks like a 5th grade argument. Yes Orlando could've handled it better, but it absolutely should not result in a demotion come on people there's a difference between malicious behavior, and a screw up. This is a learning experience for Orlando if anything.

-1 If what is stated happened: Orlando is just being a cuckold and needs to learn how to adapt in events in order to get his event jobs where they need to be. Player choice should influence GM creativity and adaptability. Then CG need to fucking remember how difficult it is to actually get people in and out considering it is innocent until proven guilty. Yet everyone follows the event jobs and tries to catch them out for something. So I probably would have yelled at CG too. Just after the fact to not ruin the little immersion of the event we have with clones who don't question how 20 random clones poof on ship and tryout for their battalions but 5 already pre established troopers get hounded.

I have left this open for feedback and after reading both sides of the story this is my determination.

People on this goddamn ship/base now have this issue with treating events job not like their job title actually suggests and constantly harass or follow them around trying to catch them doing wrong and basically only allowing them to do actions that could be considered hostile. (makes it impossible to do RP)

I'll give you an example; I recently did an event on the event server where I had 2 commando droids inside a base that was being used for the trial, and they were just standing around doing nothing when the battalions entered the base and set up for any trouble. after discovering both disguised commandos people immediately just started harassing them about what they were doing there/trying to take their weapons/trying to interrogate them/trying to make them take off their armor for a medical check-up.  one was sitting at the table and one was standing in an empty room (Literally doing nothing at all).

having senate commandos come on-board the ship escorting a senator (Which is their job in RP, not CGs) and then being treated like the scum of the earth for no apparent reason would frustrate the hell out me as well.

Seeing as there is literally 0 evidence to support your claims that he "mocked" you there will be no action taken against Orlando.

Innocent until proven guilty.
