Each swing you make with the saber should be calculated and precise, like a Jedi. The current stamina rate creates a higher skill gap in the sense of managing stamina, determining what move your opponent will make, and once again. making calculated strikes. Now for, in those moments of silence during sparring, you're thinking of ways to manipulate your opponent by faking moves, re-evaluating their playstyle and their next approach, and dodging blows if the opponent has more stamina than you. If someone is caught in a bad position, sparring or anywhere else, you can consider yourself dead in seconds because the amount of swings someone can make if stamina was drained at a lesser rate, you would be spammed to death.
