New and better ships.

It would allow much more immersion on the pilot and the base ops. and also allow for more atonumus flying intest of each flyer being piloted by a player

the replublic has issued newer ships for us to use to replace the current ones

I recomnet useing them in single player to aqualy be able to fly them its hard at first, press r on the dot in the front to turn it on and r again to turn it off

alt for turrets/secondary guns/gunner ctrl for first person m1 and m2 for weapons

hold w to speed up hold s to slow down, a and d to spin or move sideways, 

space to change modes hover/fly

Change the original suggestion to the format and put links there as well otherwise it will be denied

Going neutral for this, while these ships are good, its going to make most of the playerbase have to re learn how to fly since these vehicles have different controls.
Also before anyone just denies this because of the file size of the LFS base back, it says in the description "If you find this addon too large in filesize you can get just the base without any extra content here (get "lfs_base" folder only)"

Would recommend finding a different pack if possible. One with a smaller file size and allows for an easier transition for piloting controls.

I was going to toss this around the Pilots to see what they thought myself, and I've been testing it out on my own time as well.

LFS Vehicles are relatively new, though they are a very good vehicle base. They offer a Better Combat System than the SWV Base, and the flying is usually very smooth. Add on top of that the ability to turn them into AI Controlled NPCs, and you've got a good argument.

The downside to them is that, being so new, there are not very many GOOD Star Wars Vehicles using the base. Many of them are rough around the edges and still need some tweaking to be effective. On top of that, the AI does not seem to use their Explosives if equipped with them, making things such as AI Bombers useless. There is also the test to see if they would cause more or less lag for the server itself.

Overall, I'll have to say Neutral to -1 just given that the Cons outweigh the Pros in this situation, though this may be one to re-visit in the future once LFS is a bit more fleshed out and there are a wider variety of ships to choose from.

doesn’t matter if people need to relearn how to fly them piloting shouldn’t be able to get picked up by anyone it makes pilots less specialized

The Droid Drop ship would be nice. BUT it would probably have to be slimmed down, maybe remove the AI element of the pack. It also sounds ridiculously strong. Shields, Lasers and 14 rockets that take 0.85 seconds to reload once all fired. geez.

 

A lot of these packs would be fine if we had an optimized map but unfortunately the server is a bit unstable ATM so this may cause more harm then good, The Vulture droid one is only 0.77 MBs so that's an option maybe.

The Y-Wing is also nice as it is more accurate than the one we use currently.

But this is almost a future addon really as i mentioned the server would probably die and or blow up if this was added.

 

So I will -1 but it could be good in the future if the next map is more stable [fingers crossed and all].
