This whole voting process has turned Synergy into a war zone. Factions of people fighting against factions of others. People who would -1 the other app JUST because they want to see the other as BCMD, not based on the merits of the actual application. This is so sad to see. We're all here pretending we're Star Wars characters on an outdated videogame. I promise NONE of it is that deep. You want to know the truth? You're right. We have very little choice in a lot of these matters. So what? As much as I hate legacy picks, it's over. They made it to interview. Truthfully, if we ran solely on majority vote, the server would die in a month. Similarly, if 241st wasn't in such a BAD position on the server, Bana never would have applied. Honestly, Conrad, I don't know what happened. You used to be a chill dude. Now all I see from you are posts that cause more drama. Why would you even make this? Are you, as a former Chancellor, one to talk about favoritism by the server leadership? If you had cared so much for 241st, you never would have left. You rank skipped a LT-MAJ minutes before you left JUST so he could apply. Over your whole term, did you not consider your replacement? Now that you've left, and things MIGHT not go your way after, you think to come here and spark even MORE drama? Who do you think yourself to be? Do you think you're the hero of Synergy by driving a wedge between all of these players? Also, you have NO room to talk about favoritism. I personally have caught and clipped you doing heavy ERP with event jobs on the server. We would have banned a new player for this. You didn't even get a scratch. You're very quick to call out favoritism by leadership when you yourself have gotten away with bannable offenses in the last month. All of Synergy needs to see this for what it is. This is a videogame. There is NO reason we should have this sort of drama so actively pushed by our server legacy members, and there is no reason we should let it change our moods while playing this game. Shame on every esteemed Synergy individual who pressed this drama. Get back to playing the game. If you don't like it, get off.

Even when i was in middle school (almost 9 years ago atp) we had lawyers and officers coming into our school teaching kids that even though we are underage ourselves, you can still get in those kinds of trouble. Assuming you're actually "16" and not someone trying to cop out as a minor on the internet then i suggest you rethink some of your life choices, and even if you are older than 16, and you're lying about that bit, you should really consider changing your life around and getting off Gmod.

Im getting some strange dejavu here. Let's be real, synergy is built off favouritism and the best example should be looking at blazins jedi order which was Head and shoulders above many others. The truth is people only care about favouritism when it's the decision they don't want, otherwise they don't say shit. Hypocritical as fuck (and I'm projecting cause I'm guilty too)

Posting this NOW when this has been a problem for years is crazy. Love you @Conrad but c'mon bud. This has been a huge pet peeve of mine ever since the Dennis incident where he got almost all -1's and he got ACCEPTED for interview then ACCEPTED for Bacara. That was fucking wild. While I disagree with your reasoning for posting this, I agree with your argument. I think there needs to be more weight given to the communities +1/-1's but not enough to make a final decision. What that looks like I don't know, but there has to be something they can do to make the communities opinion more valuable. Maybe it changes the interview. Idk. As the person who very openly biased Conrad up the 241st ranks at first this sums it up p well @Eclipse. Can't have it both ways. I understand being frustrated but at the end of the day directors have the ability to run the server as they see fit (for the most part). While those waive rules are in place and something that I worked on with HC a few months ago, if the director team wants to bypass them they can. I don't necessarily agree with how it was handled but again it was their call to make. The amount of reports I've gotten of people sitting in TS channels trying to force -1s is also just ridiculous. This to me just seems like a gigantic temper tantrum and the whole "Big Synergy" is out to get you mentality is genuinely dumb. To answer the original questions: Your votes matter and are taken into account but the director team and HC are sometimes going to make decisions that don't go w the general consensus. Was a little late to this bc I just graduated from college and things have been a little hectic.

As someone who has been in the position of accepting/denying CMD apps with mixed community votes in the past if the votes were off by a few the only time I would ever move it forward was with a HC vote which required a unanimous decision to move it to pending. Which never actually happened so I avoided that PR disaster lol. It is technically up to the Director’s discretion however regardless of the outcome of the interview the votes should always be brought into consideration when making a final decision. Regardless insight should be given to the community. If a HC vote transpired we should be made aware. If Directors just decided to do this on their own free will then that’s a huge fumble and I’m sure they’ll lose a lot of trust from the community. Edit: Maybe something that should require a written rule/disclaimer perhaps. Or just outright gotten rid of.

Additionally, their are rules around waives that say you must be atleast a WO. Why was bana an exception? This is just favoritism. Any other excuse is a lie. I have reported both directors to their superiors. You may close this if you wish, i have my answer.

Question: What is the criteria to pass to a interview for a BCMD position? Comments/Concerns: A recent commander app was moved to interview, despite having more -1's then +1's. This is very concerning as a player as how am i supposed to take this as anything other then blatant favoritism on the side of the director team? Do our votes even matter? Do our voices matter?
