BobbyBiceps Posted July 10, 2025 Posted July 10, 2025 (edited) Name: BobbyBiceps RP Rank: Commander Suggestion: Creation of SOBDE Pilot Job Reason: You guys know the deal, me and Hancock have been trying to get this passed for a bit and since the update is around the corner, we want to put this up for a suggestion since command is going to be changing pretty soon. We want to suggest the creation of a SOBDE Pilot Job that will be utilized by two lore characters, Delta 42 and Sicko. In summary, Delta 42 is the official Pilot for Delta Squad and Sicko is the pilot for Omega Squad. They both have lore attached to them and a squad they can slot right into. The reasons we have will be summarized but if you want to know more, the document is attached. SOBDE currently prides itself on having the best of the best, and sometimes even more. This allows individuals who are skilled in piloting, able to have their spot in SOBDE. There are people who are great pilots, able to maneuver with great skill and dog fight with expertise. Having a position for those people in SOBDE just makes sense. We have one for EOD, Tech, and Medical. Bad Batch and Null already have a Pilot, why not spread that to the RC Squads? The In game names would be as follows Delta Squads pilot would be "Delta CT-1142 PVT "Four-Two" and Omega's pilot would be "Omega CT-1127 PVT "Sicko". These are there in lore numbers and cannon to what they were called. Dono Posted July 10, 2025 Posted July 10, 2025 How do you plan to test for the "Best" pilot? I dont see why you dont just work directly with Shadow as a outreach / attachment to SOBDE for pilots. Its currently the only full pilot unit on the server and is already set up to test for only very good pilots to get in. This just seems like it will end up as a really easy way to get into SOBDE for people to jump ship to other squads or characters. -1 for now. You see how this looks 👀

We didn’t have lame ass delta Jedi then and it was a way to level the playing field with Omega. As much as I sympathize with the concept I have come to realize it might not be the best idea. For starters having watered down tryouts only decrease standards imo. I can almost guarantee that 90% of the people that get these jobs ultimately will end up trying out for an actual RC position later on and ditching the character. (Which these guys hardly have any characteristics to begin with) I don’t think these jobs need to be directly tied to SOBDE. These guys were just pilots nothing special. A cool concept would be having these guys as Naval jobs that attach to the squads similar to how SOBDE Jedi operate.

SOBDE has worked with Shadow Squadron leadership in the past and with other renowned pilots on the server the make a tryout that is just as hard as the rest of the SOBDE Tryouts. This isn't an easy way to get into SOBDE, and if actually if not one of the harder ones seeing as you have to be really good at flying, and have to be almost on par in combat with the rest of the SOBDE. For obvious reasons tryouts can't be leaked but I don't believe its easier in any way shape or form.
