Thanks for getting back to me on this. Just wanted to make sure I had the issue documented because I heard that it was per-saber, not the system altogether. Wish you & the team the best of luck!

Bug Type (Server:): WiltOS Severity level (Low - Medium - High): High Evidence (if you can): Equip Anakin's Saber and attempt to swing on a stationary NPC. Description of the bug (If it's a black screen issue, please provide your SteamID64): The Skywalker Saber is broken. When swinging the saber, the swing isn't remotely accurate to where the hitbox is/was within the last 3 months. How can we recreate it: Equip Anakin's Saber and attempt to swing on a stationary NPC.

Name: Zar RP Rank: CPT in SOBDE, LT in 212th Suggestion: A Long-Term Vision for Weapon System Optimization & Expansion Core Suggestion@!!!: I propose that the development team begin a long-term project to overhaul and optimize our server's weapon base. I want to preface this by saying that I do not make this suggestion lightly. I am aware that our current TFA base is the result of nearly a decade of work from many different developers, and that it is an incredibly complex and layered system. I understand this is not a request for a simple patch or a quick feature addition, but rather a proposal to invest in the server's future technical health and gameplay potential. The goal here would be to build a more stable and modular foundation for our weapons, which could eventually open the door for incredible new features—such as a weapon attachment system. Justification & The "Why": Currently, Synergy is one of the top 3 major servers within the SWRP community. To maintain that position and continue to draw out the life on GMOD, we should look at areas for foundational improvement. While our current weapons work, they represent a form of "technical debt" that may limit our ability to create some solid new ideas in the future! Investing the time to streamline this system would yield massive benefits: A New Competitive Edge: Every server has its basic surface-level features, but a deeply integrated and performant weapon system with meaningful customization would be a technical "Marvel" (haha, get it?). Imagine players working towards earning scopes, extended magazines, or stabilizers through in-game missions or specialized encounters. This would be a system that other servers wouldn't be able to replicate easily. Meaningful Gameplay Loop: This opens up more options for progression. We could have weapon modification missions, a reason to engage with civilians, or even events that may grant unique weapon mods. This creates content that keeps veteran players engaged and gives new players long-term goals. Future-Proofing the Server: By tackling this now, we make all future weapon-related development easier. Adding new weapons, balancing existing ones, or fixing bugs becomes a more manageable task for the development team, giving them some breathing room for other projects down the line. Sticking to the Theme & keeping our RP Potential: This system could be deeply tied to our server's lore. Standard troopers might have limited options, while ARCs or RCs could gain access to a wider array of modifications, reinforcing their elite status. This could be the perfect feature to coincide with a future focus on other groups like ARF, ARC, and RCs getting infrared attachments(or something), MAKING SUBUNITS FEEL WORTH-WHILE!! Implementation (A Phased Approach): I do recognize this would be a monumental project, likely something that would take over a year. I do NOT expect to see attachments in-game this year. A realistic approach might look something like: Phase 1: Identifying issues & creating a plan: A period for the development team to fully assess the current weapon base, identify the core challenges, and map out a potential plan for a rebuild or refactor. Phase 2: COMPLETE Foundational Rebuild: Developing a new, clean weapon base "behind the scenes." This would be the most time-consuming step, but it is the most critical for long-term success. Phase 3: Feature Integration & store support: Once a stable new base is established, features like the attachment system & MAYBE SOME >>> STORE EXCLUSIVES <<< could be developed and integrated on top of a solid foundation. Lore: The GAR was known for its top-of-the-line technology. Allowing players, and especially elite units, to modify their equipment to suit specific wants/needs.. Also... The actual lore accurate DC-17m is a dream of mine to one day see. Workshop content if applicable: N/A Required Development: This would require a significant, long-term commitment from the development team. It is an investment in the server's core infrastructure.

+1, the Andor one would be powerful for some solid promos.
-
+1, I personally think that Delta 42 and Sicko would be the best way to showcase a strong pilot & being one who helped develop the tryout I can assure you that it'll be no easy task.

I would be willing to let go of the sniper to have the Bowcaster if this were to clean up on entity bloat.
-
Yeah, I see what you're saying, but this is a lore thing. The book Hard Contact says he carried the bowcaster and the DC-17m at the same time. So I don't think it would make sense to clear out the sniper attachment. SOBDE is built on RP, and giving them a weapon that is arguably okay in most situations when compared to their entire kit isn't gonna break the game. You know how it is since you played him. This is an RP request. I wouldn't just only be using the bowcaster, I'd moreso equip it when I'm dealing with some tanky B2's or an EJ. As Republic Commandos, we play around with the lore and what makes sense of the situation.

Name: Zar RP Rank: CPT Suggestion: Give the Darman job a Bowcaster. Implementation: Add a bowcaster weapon to the loadout for the Darman job. Lore: This is directly supported by the Republic Commando novel, Hard Contact. In the book, it is explicitly mentioned that Darman carried and was fond of the weapon: "The bowcaster—he loved that weapon—was strapped across his chest plate with jury-rigged webbing, to leave his hands free for the DC-17." Workshop content if applicable: (If no workshop content, suggest a developer or put "Require Development") If you are asking to add or change a job, fill out the following if not, leave it out. Add or Change: Change (Any job modification requires all this information) Job: Omega Squad Darman Slots: 1 Description: A republic commando apart of SOBDE Model: (Provide the model string if on server Ex. models/synergy_roleplay/trooper.mdl (Get this from the Q menu) Weapons: Add a bowcaster rw_sw_bowcaster (If you want a modfication to a weapon/saber, you must put the weapon string in the suggestion. Ex. tfa_e5 (Get this from the Q menu)) Other: Was approved by the appropriate SOBDE XO+

Name: Zar RP Rank: CPT Suggestion: Unique character model for Etain Tur-Mukan Implementation: Hair: Reddish-brown/auburn in a practical, slightly unkempt style (e.g., functional braid, messy bun, or shoulder-length with loose strands). Avoid the standard "Padawan bob." Facial Features: Youthful but maturing face with a subtle, serious, and determined expression. Emphasize kind, empathetic eyes (suggested green). The face should be unique and relatable, not overly beautiful, possibly with minor freckles or blemishes. Attire: Weathered, practical Jedi robes in traditional brown/cream colors, showing minor scuffs and fading. The cut should be modified for fieldwork (e.g., shorter outer robe, more fitted sleeves). • Clone-Influenced Gear (Crucial): Integrate subtle clone trooper elements to reflect her time with commandos. • A single, plain grey clone-style shoulder pauldron. • Clone-style forearm bracers. • A utility belt blending Jedi and clone pouch/buckle designs. • Optional: Clone-style knee pads. Overall Vibe: The model should convey her unique story as a Jedi who is deeply connected to the clones, practical, and not a pristine, temple-bound Jedi. A small personal memento, like a cord on her wrist alluding to Darman, could be a subtle detail. Lore: Etain Tur-Mukan's model is currently a generic young Padawan model. However, her significant role in the Republic Commando book series establishes her as a distinct individual who undergoes immense growth and operates closely with clone commandos. Her experiences mature her greatly and lead her to adopt a more pragmatic, field-oriented approach, even integrating elements of clone gear into her attire. She is not a standard Jedi; she is defined by her empathy and her deep bond with the clones of SOBDE. A unique model is justified to enhance character recognition, improve immersion for role-players, respect her established lore, and visually tell the story of her unique path, distinguishing her from other Jedi of similar rank. Workshop content if applicable: Require Development (If no workshop content, suggest a developer or put "Require Development") If you are asking to add or change a job, fill out the following if not, leave it out. Add or Change: Change (Any job modification requires all this information) Job: Etain Tur Mukan Slots: 1 Description: Jedi attached to SOBDE & Omega Squad. Model: models/synergy/jedi/lore/etain.mdl (Provide the model string if on server Ex. models/synergy_roleplay/trooper.mdl (Get this from the Q menu) Weapons: (If you want a modfication to a weapon/saber you must put the weapon string in the suggestion. Ex. tfa_e5 (Get this from the Q menu)) Other: Approved by the current Yoda/Joyboy & both SOBDE CMD. Ex/Funnyman/Zlock/BobbyBiceps/SquadXO+

+1 I love improcco!

+1, for the betterment of the server!

I'm neutral on it, I do adore Keeli's company. I'm just not sure how it would fit into Rancor. It should be something like Rahm Kota's militia or the SPEC OPS troopers.

+1, new weapons make me happy.
