Heart Posted December 1, 2018 Report Share Posted December 1, 2018 (edited) Hey kids! Have you ever wanted something like this? Well, I'm gonna show you how in no more than 10 minutes! So to start, you're gonna need 3 things that you probably already have: 1. An internet browser (Google Chrome Preferred) 2. A desktop 3. A mouse and keyboard To get started, we're going to download the Synergy Logo to use as an icon. If you don't care to do this, skip to the part below the line. So on google, go ahead and download this image, since it's the perfect size for the .ICO file. Download it as a .PNG or .JPG and then we're going to convert it to .ICO. Now, head over to this website since it's a cloud-based image converter, and go ahead and click "Choose file", select the logo you downloaded, then hit "Upload" Skip the styles, and on step 4, select "ICO for Windows 7, Windows 8, Vista and XP" (Don't worry if you have windows 10, it works) Now click the "Convert ICO" button and save the new .ICO image in a place you can find it easily. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Go back to your browser, and while on any website, you can see right next to the address bar, there's a little lock icon. Drag that to your desktop and a web-shortcut should be created. Now, when you double click that link, it will open the website you were on! Right click the new link, hit "Properties", and replace the URL with "steam://connect/66.70.180.193:27015" (without quotes). This is the Server's IP along with the Steam://connect which tells GMOD to open, and connect to the server. To add the icon, click "Change Icon..." and select the ICO file you created, if you did create one. If you select the JPG/PNG, nothing will happen! Rename the shortcut to whatever you want after that. And there you go! Double clicking on the icon with even steam closed will call Steam to open, then Gmod to launch, then for you to connect to the server! Edited July 31, 2019 by Heart 2 Report Link to comment
