How long have you played on the server? [Hours]: 591:22:53

From 1-10, what would you rate your knowledge of the Clone Wars?: 8

Why do you want to join the Gamemaster team?:

I would like to join the gamemaster team as the part of star wars RP which I have always enjoyed more than any other in the past, is hand crafting and delivering events to a small, medium, or large playerbase, taking great enjoyment in the creativity that it affords me as well as the knowledge that I am directly contributing to the enjoyment of other players. I have been a gamemaster twice before, once on a different server and once on synergy from late 2021 to early-mid 2022. During this time I created and hosted numerous events for the playerbase both on the main and event server and thoroughly enjoyed my time doing so. One of the largest events I was heavily  involved in planning and hosting alongside other great GMs of the time, was the battle of geonosis lore event series that was carried out over multiple days back in march 2022. Said event involved multiple map changes on the main server, the addition of new models exclusive for said event as well as multiple carefully thought out deployments per day, the first of which was an event that simultaneously occured on both the main and event servers, the document for which is linked here if anyone is interested in how such a series of events was carried out: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1r_MbuFgdodWMyU0Mz_HDKGcjqwRAr1UnTWggbC96GfI/edit?usp=sharing

After my previous time as staff and GM, I left due to burnout and maintained good relationships with those I met during my time on the server. I recently rejoined and have been participating in and observing events to see how things have changed, and, from what I have seen, am very excited at the prospect of utilising all of the new features and tools at a GMs disposal which have been added since my time away from the server. I have also re-read the ruleset and guidelines just to brush up on my previous knowledge of them as it has been a while, and am eager to rejoin the GM team and begin creating (hopefully) high quality events to deliver to the playerbase once again.

Do you understand that if you are inactive, you will be removed from the program?: Yes

Link us to 2 documents. One that is a deployment for the event server and one for a main server event. These will likely be the first events you do as a GM.

Length of LOA/ROA (Please specify date if possible): 17/03/22 - 24/03/22

Reason: Going to not be able to get on for the majority of those days because I'll be away from home for most of the next week, I only put ROA because I may possibly be able to get on for a couple days in the middle but I'm not certain

Do you understand that if you go LOA/ROA on a named Jedi Character for more than two weeks, go on LOA/ROA on any RC character, or go LOA/ROA while being clone commander, you will be removed from that position: Yes

Do you understand that if you are going on LOA/ROA for more than two weeks you may lose your leadership position?: Yes

We had this map, long time ago, i remember it being incredibly laggy. The performance was very very poor on it to the point that i don't think its worth getting it added back. If i'm miss remembering can someone who remembers this map comment for me. We had it back in like 2018~ i remember it was the main server map for like 4 hours (wasn't meant to be long term, but just a place holder for a little bit, but boy did those 4 hours suck) then they changed it faster then they wanted to due to how bad performance was.

I can't speak for the time you're talking about, but having used this map for events on another server I never really noticed any performance issues though said server does perform better than ours overall so that might be the case still?

The republic tracked him and his forces to the cave he was using as an FOB and he was killed in the raid. A CIS ship arrived as backup but was promptly dealt with.

  5. If there's one thing 90% of the server acting like the main character in every situation has shown me it's that you're never going to be able to encourage anyone on this server to RP in any way other than exactly what they want to regardless of how it affects others.

You get paid ever 3 minutes. This math is way off because of that. It takes a 350 (base battalion trooper) credit pay day job a bit under 11 days and 22 hours to save up 2 million credits. Which is roughly thr amount you have for the x5 for a specialization job.

This cannot be right, I have a bit under 3 mil right now and last I checked I think my playtime was somewhere about 600 hours, and that's partly with the salary of a senator job

it only caused lag if you were stupid and set the spawner to spam like 50 lasers in 0.1 seconds. +1
Another tool / function removed because "it can be abused". Literally everything that staff gets can be abused. I can think of 100 other ways to fuck shit up with what we already have, no point in restricting these things. Especially not on event server.

This ^^^, so many strange decisions made on features for this exact same reason, acting as if GMs have a collective 3 brain cells lmao. Next thing we'll be losing NPCs because "they cause lag" ???

  9. Something that's always been an idea with SWRP servers but has never come to fruition is tying in the in game currency with actual events and giving GMs the ability to reward players for successful missions.

This is a concept which is extremely interesting and engaging in theory, I don't think I have to explain that, the sense of reward and engagement players would get for actually playing in events, which is the main draw and focus of the server as a whole, is self explanatory. But said system would obviously have a lot of flaws, particularly with the potential for abuse.

ALTHOUGH, I do think we could still actually reasonabely have a very very scaled back version of this concept, maybe with even the GMD being the only person able to actually administer these rewards, with there being a limit on what could be given out per event with anything higher than said limit requiring an extremely high level of scrutiny in order to get perms for it. It would be a risky concept to roll out to the whole GM team but I'm sure that at the very minimum the leader of the GM team could be trusted with overseeing and managing this system.

I know there was another deployment, but I did not attend this. If this made the event a 10/10 by itself, then I apologize for my rating, but the rest of it by itself this is what I give it.

There were 5 deployments throughout the weekend total, the purpose in this AAR is for feedback on the whole structure of how they were all handled and connected rather than for the single events as they all have their individual AARs

  11. Yeah the economy is completely busted rn to the point I personally have no desire or intention to ever actually bother with perma weapons because the cheapest of them will still take you like 1000 hours of playtime to get and if you decide later you don't actually want it you've wasted hundreds of hours of your time. Something like this is long overdue, maybe even decreasing the price of weapons rather than increasing the earning of credits so that people who made a ton before don't get any kind of inflation type deal from it. +1

Description of event/encounter (required if no document provided): This lore event series began on Friday with a prelude on the main server, where the server was set for the day to Kamino, 22BBY before the war broke out. Late in the day, the Jedi order were sent to Geonosis for their own small deployment, this was immediately followed by a massive full server deployment utilizing both the event server and the main server at the same time, beginning the first battle of Geonosis. Each regiment was given their own special deployment throughout they day which were each based on a different on screen piece of star wars media, from entries in the battlefront game series to the republic commando video game.

We seriously hope everyone enjoyed these events throughout the weekend on main and on the event server. In total there were 6 events ran throughout the entire weekend all linked and connected through the First Battle of Geonosis. Overall this was a huge success and will most likely be the largest event series we run as a part of these lore events (until we get to coruscant...). We would appreciate if you leave any and all feedback specifically on the structure of this event series overall rather than in the specific events as they have separate AARs.

Until next time. The Synergy Lore Event Team will see you at The Battle of Muunilinst...

  13. Yeah the event document is all over the place from what I can tell.

From what I can gather it seems like the premise is that spec reg are going to a captured (or possibly destroyed the doc switches randomly between both) republic ship with the goal of either:

    A. Recovering a holocron

    B. Finding the location of the CIS general's base (On their own ship? Why would the general have left before getting the holocron he came for?)

    C. "Finding the killers"?

The doc randomly mentions one of these 3 objectives in different parts of different sections without any real clarity or explanation on any of the details to them. Overall the app is really barebones in terms of details and all over the place with the ones it gives, I'd reccomend reading over it again because I'm assuming you wrote it over a certain period of time during which you were still coming up with new ideas and changing your mind halfway through, at least that's what it looks like.

A minor criticism, this event was definitely a Delta event and not a joint-op event. That's not necessarily a bad thing, nor can I speak on behalf of the current Delta members, but I think this should have be an event just for their squad rather all of Spec. Now I'm not ungrateful for attending, I am glad I got to experience this even if the start of part 1 was a bit shaky. But this could have just been a Delta event or RC event at most. Nothing more I can say that was bad or could be improved on. Everything was great!

That's definitely fair, the original plan was to have it be an SOBDE event but as the overall battle became this big thing we wanted to give every event their own unique recreation of a different on screen portrayal of the battle and we could only find just enough for each reg deployment and the full server deployment, ideally we would have done something different for spec and have this be SOBDE but we couldn't find anything else to base it off of

I was inclined to -1 because that's basically what the CIS faction was BUT,

If this was a server addon/workshop that turned from like red to green the longer you stayed inside of it (Like forts in New World @Woeny;) ) Yeah this would be kinda cool. As long as it doesnt crash people's games!

I should have probably clarified since command post in the context of star wars has 2 different meanings, but this is what I had in mind with this suggestion
