212th Commander Cody

Brigade you are applying for
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Attack / Defense brigade consisting of the attack battalions 212th, 501st, 101st, Galactic Marines, 104th and defense battalions 327th, 187th, 41st Green Company

Experience
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roleplay-wise, I have only served within the 212th Attack Battalion as the following positions:

Commander Cody
Chief Executive Officer
Intel Director (documentation/battalion management team)
Ghost Company Officer (as an executive officer)
Battalion ARC Leader (for a short time as an executive officer)

While my experience is only within the 212th, the time I have spent as Battalion Commander has given me insight into the operations of most other battalions on the server. As Commander Cody, I have successfully maintained my battalion as one of the, if not the largest battalion on the server. The 212th takes pride in this fact, and presents itself as a highly organized battalion with strict operating procedures to make running such a large battalion efficient and easy for anyone involved. Thanks to the structure already in place from previous Commanders, and the new organization I have added to the battalion, the 212th is able to operate without fault while managing such large numbers. As both Cody and the Intel Director, I maintain close supervision over all 212th documents, and standardizing the structure and format of all the documents to make them as easy to use and informative as possible. Furthermore, I have taken the existing Discord server associated with the 212th, and completely restructured it to be integrated into every facet of the battalion. All battalion operations are done through the Discord, which keeps members connected both on and off the server, as well as makes it quick and easy for members to record information. I work daily as the Battalion Commander to maintain the efficient level of operation found in this battalion. Whether this is by holding weekly meetings with my officers, intel team, and sergeants to review suggestions, changes, or complaints or by constantly working with my leaders and intel team to streamline and improve both our documents and battalion programs provided for the members. Because this battalion has a large population, I have done my best as Cody to ensure there are things to do and ways to get involved regardless of there being an event. This is exactly the type of thing that needs to be done and made available for all battalions to help maintain server population during downtimes. A few examples of this would be our extensive Infantry Training Course, prepared to train soldiers in advanced combat skills, communication, and strategies, or our Wing Program lead by the lead Pilot Oddball consisting of several wings (or ranks) of training. My two terms as Commander Cody of this battalion, and equivalent one term as the Chief Executive Officer taught me a great deal about running a successful battalion, and ways to improve the gameplay and fun of not only the battalion, but the server.

As a brief interlude towards my out of roleplay experience:

Elite Administrator (Icefuse)
Game Master (Icefuse) / Game Maker (Synergy)
Trainer Manager (Icefuse)
ICBC Agent / Intel Member / Recruitment Team (Icefuse)
Overseer (Synergy)

These roles on the staff and management teams of both servers also help provide myself with leadership experience, and knowledge on the server operations. My time with the trainer program on Icefuse has helped me gain insight into the vast variety of new players the servers receive, and exactly how to handle each of them. It has also assisted me in understanding how a large program with an extensive tiered hierarchy operates, and what can be done to help make operations as efficient, and fun for the members as possible. For the staff positions I have held, both on Icefuse and Synergy, they have given me time to learn how to handle nearly any player situation both in and out of roleplay that may come to me on the server. I am also capable of taking punitive, or moderation action as necessary with the powers bestowed to me. All-in-all, I have both the staffing experience and roleplay experience necessary to hold such a high position in the game.

Why should you become a Senior Commander?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before I can answer, I must state how I can translate my experience and abilities as a Battalion Commander to the position of Senior Commander. Briefly, the tasks and feats I have achieved as Commander Cody in the 212th I feel confident can be expanded to on a larger scale to encompass not only all attack battalions, but also defense battalions. My knowledge in helping battalions grow in numbers, or provide fun, entertaining programs for their members can easily be implemented into most battalions. I would, of course, not attempt to push any changes onto a battalion if the Battalion Commander did not wish so. It is their battalion, not mine. I understand not accepting a high commander wanting to push ideas or programs onto your battalion, I certainly felt that sometimes. However, I am most certainly interested in placing myself in a mentor position for any Battalion Commanders under me, or even ones not within my discipline. In a position such as this, I would be more than willing to impart some of the practices and ideas I implemented into my battalion to make it successful with other commanders to help them with their battalion. For example, during the transition from Icefuse to Synergy, many battalions suffered a major blow, one of which was the 501st. To help with this, Kazane had me sit down with Rex (Kain), and discuss ways in which he could help revitalize the battalion and return their population to their previous peaks. After a lengthy conversation regarding the 501st's recruitment practices and training programs among other things, Kain took some ideas and implemented them into the 501st in a way he knew would work. Now, the 501st is again a large and proud attack battalion. I would never force my ways or methods onto a Battalion Commander, only give suggestions and recommendations that they could then take themselves and implement into their battalion in a way they know will work and meld well with their troopers. It is their battalion, and only they know how to, and should be the only ones, running it. Furthermore, I have seen Regimental and Senior Commanders in the past attempt to keep track of every battalion's roster, and monitor the population and activity of battalions. They all failed to do so. Personally, as I said before, internal battalion affairs are for the Battalion Commander and Battalion Commander alone. It is not my job as a Senior Commander to monitor the population and activity of the battalions under my discipline. My job is to guide the Battalion Commanders in maintaining positive activity and high population, while also providing as engaging and lore-friendly gameplay as possible to those commanders and their battalion members. If a Battalion Commander is failing to maintain at least a decent popularity, or positive activity, then it is their responsibility to come to me or their regimental and discuss the situation. If they fail to do this, then they simply should not be the Battalion Commander. I will not let my failures harm anyone below me, however if a commander never attempts to speak with me or address a situation, then I cannot take blame for the failure of their battalion. Overall, I will do everything within my capacity to help advise Battalion Commanders under my discipline, and see high numbers, positivity, and engaging roleplay out of them all.

Do you understand that being a Senior Commander has a very large workload, and that sometimes you may seem overwhelmed?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, I absolutely do. And I will give my candor in stating it cannot be much more severe than babysitting the 212th.

Availability
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not 100% positive on my exact hours of availability in this coming school year, with starting at a new university; however, I can say that I will be available enough to properly withhold the position, and affect a positive change.

Do you have a microphone?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes.

What plans do you have for the brigade you are applying for?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have covered this for the most part above, however I can discuss specifically the role I wish to hold as a Senior Commander over the attack and defense battalions under my command. In the position, I aim to act as a mentor and advisor to the Battalion Commanders as an individual to speak with if problems arise in their battalion -- whether these may be internal affairs (officers, commanders, sergeants), maintaining population, or improving the gameplay and roleplay aspect of the battalion. I have methods and experience under my belt that have been proven to help increase recruitment numbers if a battalion is suffering, or eliminate minges if a battalion is rife with them, or even enforce quality over quantity if a battalion is trying to strive for elite rather than large. Furthermore, I know how to quickly organize and future-proof battalion training programs that will help enforce roleplay, and create combat-ready, lethal soldiers. Any area of improvement a battalion may require, I have experience and knowledge that I can bring to help a battalion adjust. Personally, I feel blanket rules or procedures placed over every battalion in an individual's command is a lazy, and careless method. It takes away individuality from the battalions that help define the battalions from each other, and essentially eliminates the position of Battalion Commander. Each battalion needs to be catered to specifically for what they are good with, and what their members want or need. While this is difficult for a single individual to do for many battalions, it is important the Battalion Commanders have an in-depth knowledge of their battalion so they may be the ones to create these specific procedures with the advisory of the regimental and senior.

Do you understand that if you go inactive that you will be removed from your position?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes.

+ fucking 1.  Billiam has been the best Commander I've come into contact with. He lead the 212th for 4-5 months + already and everybody Would recognize his great performance as Commander Cody. He can keep a battalion on its feet at the same time as lead them. Good luck.

+1. I wish you would stay Billiam, but you have so much more potential and leadership opportunities you could take instead of staying with us. You have been my favorite commander, and I feel you are more than qualified for the position

+1 BILLY!!!

Can't believe I won't see you as my legendary CXO Gearshift or my amazing CMD Cody but you deserve going up the ranks a bit more!

You're a hard working man, you work hard to make sure the 212th is doing well ALL THE FUCKING TIME!

I remember once staying with you in a channel after one of the 212th meetings and you were just working on documents for like 4 hours straight (it might have been even longer).

I've already told you your hard work is phenomenal and the next Cody has some huge big monstrous shoes to fill... I know you'll still be around but it's not the same... Thank you for everything Billiam, good luck!

I can very well say that Billiam deserves this position whole heartedly. One of our longest running commanders and one of the most important members of our community.

He would be perfect for this position

+1 Hate to see you go.... But You would be great for the position. You have held down the 212th for a while (Can't even remember how long). I know you will help all battalions get to where they need to be. Honestly cant think of anyone more suitable for the position. Good luck :)

+1 I'm going to be honest, when I joined the 212th, I was worried. I always thought that Billiam was some mean, strict leader or a battalion, but after 20 minutes of playing with the 212th, I realized that I was wrong. Billium is a gifted leader and is one of the nicest people I have met. I have full trust that he will not only work well in AD Senior, but he will be a masterful choice and do an amazing job.
