Duck10t Posted January 12 Head Admin Posted January 12 Name: Duck RP Rank: BCMD Suggestion: Currently, the 41st is a mechanized battalion that has two subunits: Elite Corps and Green Company. However, neither of these subunits has a regiment that can repair vehicles despite us being a Mechanized Battalion. The goal is to start focusing the Elite Corps on vehicle maintenance and protection. This would be done by adding a Regiment to the Elite Corps that has Anti-Vehicle capabilities: They would function as a support unit with an anti-vehicle weapon that does little to no damage to NPCs, but a lot of damage to vehicles. They would also have access to the vehicle repair tool; however, they won’t be able to drop armor. Implementation: Create a whitelist for the 41st Elite Corps that has the standard Elite Corps model, but has the vehicle repair tool and the anti-vehicle launcher. The anti-vehicle grenade launcher would be a 6-round gun that does serious damage to vehicles and works similarly to the Bowcaster. Suggested stats Damage: 20 Damage to NPCs , 300 Damage to vehicles. Fire rate: 70 RPM Capacity: 6 rounds Lore: If the 41st has vehicles, they should be able to repair and manage them. Workshop content if applicable: Requires Development: We would also accept a stand-in/reused model for the weapon, such as the rw_sw_bowcaster or models/props/starwars/weapons/grenade_launcher.mdl. Possible base model from the workshop that needs adjustments: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3016902094&searchtext=serious+sam (If no workshop content, suggest a developer or put "Require Development") If you are asking to add or change a job, fill out the following if not, leave it out. Add or Change: Add (Any job modification requires all this information) Job: 41st Elite Corps Bulwark unit Slots: 5 Description: Elite Corps Anti-Vehicle Support trooper capable of taking out enemy vehicles and repairing our own. Model: No Change. If possible, an additional body grouper for the models/synergy_roleplay/41s/elite_trooper/elite_trooper.mdlqq (Provide the model string if on server Ex. models/synergy_roleplay/trooper.mdl (Get this from the Q menu) Weapons: alydus_fusioncutter, d-41_devastator(rw_sw_bowcaster), rw_sw_vx41, rw_sw_dc15s, rw_sw_dc15a_o (If you want a modfication to a weapon/saber you must put the weapon string in the suggestion. Ex. tfa_e5 (Get this from the Q menu)) Other: The Elite Corps Subunit would be willing to lose access to the Bush Tool in exchange for this new regiment. It would solidify them as the vehicular part of our battalion. 3

JrJet Posted January 12 Posted January 12 +1 Currently in the 41st, there is very little incentive to remain a standard 41st trooper, which results in most players feeling pushed toward Green Company as soon as possible. This creates a lack of identity and progression for those who are not yet eligible or interested in joining Green Company. Introducing a distinct Elite Corps class with its own defined role, responsibilities, and identity would give players a meaningful reason to remain within the Elite Corps. This would not only improve overall balance within the battalion, but also provide newer players with a clear goal to work toward before reaching the rank required to try out for Green Company. JamesBrent Posted January 12 Posted January 12 +1 With the 41st no longer having a support unit, this fills part of that gap in a niche, vehicle focused way that stays balanced and doesn’t replace other roles. KaiserNeiner Posted January 12 Banned Posted January 12 (edited) -1 thought 41st was looking to identify more as a recon batt, i dont see how adding engineers with diet HVO accomplishes that. Additionally, BARC speeders and AT-RT's already have a very large health pool. Would be surprised if you actively needed repairs during most events, and if it's on deployment, it's unlikely you wouldn't find someone to help out. You've got a valid point, perhaps shift part of Naval's focus to vehicle repair or maintenance during events. With bushes, removing ARF from almost all other battalions, and a general push for heavier Recon, this feels like a step backwards. 1 Kaiser Zeros Clutch

Gleb Posted January 12 Posted January 12 +1 41st needs this as a Mechanized Battalion, we don't have much to the whole Mechanized idea other than claim to certain vehicles. Elite Corps has less to it with HVY, and SUP removed. The new model is slick but is indeed missing body groupers, the weapon they get is really nice, but there isn't an incentive to be Elite Corps than Green Company also with Improcco removed. DirtyDanLIT Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I like the general idea but the launcher bit I'm not currently in support of, RC's currently have the anti-armor launcher that does rather negligible damage to vehicles and for another class to have something that'd be blatantly better is rather disingenuous

Funnyman Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) +1 for repair options, -1 for new guns you guys got 3 new guns in the update, iirc you got the DC-17 Heavy, the DMR-41, and the VX-41. No need for anything else. in addition, the whole point of removing whole subunits/ regiments was so that battalions wouldn’t be the jack of all trades they used to be. With the update, I would say they effectively made SOBDE the only battalion like this (as it should be IMO). Adding back things that got removed for this purpose seems counterintuitive to what the developer team wants. If any of the cool devs (not personal bias at all) @Mystic @FLiP@Hancock@Docor@Abel, not Caincould speak about the policy regarding battalion specialization (without leaking of course) that would be great. The_Sunrider Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I think personally elite corps needs an identity if the devs are pushing for battalion identity. @Mystic I think the current issue is yall are specializing battalions but Elite corps isn’t recon. Also, they are still apart of mech reg. Either make them their own regiment, give them a lot of cool and unique recon tools and weapons, take their mech vehicles and give them other trainings for server, go all in on recon, or accept the fact you’ll have to compromise with some mech focused stuff as well. Can’t be a mech battalion and force one of the mech batts to rely on mech repairs from the other. Above all, Be Curious, Not Judgmental.

We want to give the Elite Corps an Identity outside of standard scouting, as neither their weapons nor armor really fit that theme. We have these vehicles that are suitable for scouting, but they're just sitting there, looking for some attention, which the elite corps has the means to give. They have the AT-RT Model as well. This would allow us to utilize our scouting vehicles without needing to return from the front. A point of concern is that we really don't have many regiments. We effectively have ARC and MED. With ARF being essentially the same kit as med without the bacta injector. This aims to solve that problem for the elite corps. 1

The_Sunrider Posted January 14 Posted January 14 29 minutes ago, KaiserNeiner said: Are you treating Elite Corps as a subunit? Elite Corps has 3 Regiments, same as GC basically. However, GC has overall better ARCS and MED, leaving the base trooper as kind of a standalone inside of Elite Corps. It’s not a subunit, but Green Company has limited slots and is being pushed to being recon. To compensate, they are adding a regiment that can still conduct scouting, on the BARC and AT-RT, but also be an Engineer/Anti Vehicle when necessary. Above all, Be Curious, Not Judgmental.

Duck10t Posted January 14 Head Admin Author Posted January 14 Similar to what Sunrider said, just a different perspective, I suppose. No, they are not a subunit, but they are essentially a Green Company Lite right now. They have the bush tool, which we are willing to remove. They have weapons not suited to scouting and lack body groupers for any of the regiments, which are the same as Green Company. They don't have the speed increases associated with Green Company. The only reason to be an Elite Corp is so you can reach SGT and become Green Company in the same regiment. We are looking for a reason to be Elite Corps. 1

Listener Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I'd love to see Elite Corps be a little more defined, and not just a seeming precursor to Green Company. Though gunners could supplement the role of engineering for the 41st vehicles, in practice this rarely, if ever, happens. Having Elite Corps really focus in on some engineering aspect would be cool to supplement the battalion's regiment designation. Them and 104th's could easily work and train in tandem, and learn from one another to better carve out their own niche. With that in mind, the offensive capabilities would make the niche, differentiating well, buuut.. seems a little much. Huge +1 on Elite Corps focusing in on engineering with more tools to do so. | "It's okay, I'm listening" |
Posted January 15 I'd love to see Elite Corps be a little more defined, and not just a seeming precursor to Green Company.
