Useful Console Commands for Quality of Life

1. How to set your name AND job in one keybind

• Find your Jobstring (You can do this by going into console, and typing "darkrp_translatechatcommands" and pasting into notepad) For this example, I used Jocasta Nu, who's jobstring is jedi_jocasta
• Open Console and type bind ? "say /rpname Your Name here;darkrp Job_string_here" [I.E {bind p "say /rpname Jocasta Nu;darkrp jedi_jocasta}] Replace the ? with any key you desire
• Now when you press the key, you'll change your name AND job at the same time!

2. How to launch Synergy from desktop (Opens Gmod and immediately connects)

• Create a shortcut to anything on your desktop (Rightclick -> Shortcut)
• In the field "Type the location of the item" paste this: steam://connect/144.48.104.132:27015
• Name it whatever you want!
• Now when you double click the icon, if Gmod is closed it will open Gmod, and connect to main! If Gmod is open, it will just connect you to the server!

3. [Staff mainly] How to identify a prop from either a vehicle or a dupe

• Open console and copy and paste this keybind, replacing ? with your desired key: bind ? "lua_run_cl print(LocalPlayer():GetEyeTrace().Entity:GetModel())"
• Look at the desired prop, and press your bind
• Open console again, and the prop's string will be printed out
• To spawn a prop through console, do gm_spawn model_string_here
• You can look at vehicles, and gain the model string to spawn them as non-functional props!

4. [Staff mainly] Make your physgun better

• By default, physguns snap at 45 degree angles
• gm_snapangles 15 allows for a lot more angles while still being able to hit the previous 8 that 45 allows

5. Saving binds and console edits

• host_writeconfig ensures your newly added keybinds and console edits are saved!

Do you know the sheer quantity and size of builds that I had to "hold e" and pray for? I am setting snap to 1 and building a Venator or something to celebrate this new knowledge.
