Hello everyone! 

As many of you know I have recently been assigned as Chancellor Palpatine. I would like to start by thanking everyone for their support, I look forward to working with you all, as we aim to help the community grow and ensure that the standard of roleplay increases.

Before you read through the thread, if any of your questions aren't answered then please comment them below and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

This document is vital if you wish to become a member of the Galactic Senate and has been approved by Fizzik.

 

"So who's running the Senate?"

Mas Amedda will be in charge of running the Galactic Senate. This position is currently filled by Wolfro.

"But why isn't Palpatine running the Senate?"

It has been very clear that when every previous Palpatine has tried to focus on High Command the Senate dies out and goes inactive vice versa.

We believe that having Palpatine as an overseer of everything will ensure that everything can run as smoothly as possible. I personally have good faith in my good friend Wolfro in building the Senate, and I will be helping him as much as I can to build a foundation. 

"What does this mean?"

• This means that Mas Amedda will become an applicable position and will hold the responsibility of running the Galactic Senate. (Much like how a BCMD is responsible for running a battalion)
• Mas Amedda will be equivalent to Regimental Commander in the G.A.R hierarchy.

"So what does Palpatine actually do?"

Overlooks everything roleplay related and gives advice/ideas when needed. (Essentially the "3rd Director", but focused on the roleplay and not the staff team).

Work with the Marshal Commander to ensure that High Command is working efficiently and effectively. 

Work with High Command to ensure activity within battalions.

"What do Senators do?"

Promote passive roleplay. Read the rules and regulations document to learn about what Senators can and cannot do.

"When can I become a Senator?"

Myself and Wolfro will be finalizing a system that gives everyone a fair opportunity into becoming a member of the Senate. We both aim for this to be completed by the end of the week. 

Once the Senator system is running smoothly, Wolfro will take full responsibility for the state of the Senate. For the time being however, myself and Wolfro will be working together as we both have ideas that we will be working on combining. 

"What about Senate Commandos?"

Everything regarding Senate Commandos is listed on the new Rules and Regulations document (Linked above).

For those that do not wish to open the document, the rules are also listed here:

 

• Senate Commandos must be VIPs.
• Senate Commandos are to protect Mas Amedda and Chancellor Palpatine, CG will prioritise the other members of the Galactic Senate.

1. Maximum of 4 people on the Senate Commando job at the same time.

• Senate Commandos must NOT leave the person that they are assigned too.
• If an event / encounter begins that requires the use of the Senate Commando job, the Senate Commandos appointed by the Senator will return to their normal jobs and CG will protect the Senators.
• You may use Senate Commando’s for passive RP. 

1. It is recommended to use CG or people who you trust as Senate Commandos.
2. Palpatine or Mas Amedda must approve who goes on the Senate Commando job to protect them.
3. All trusted individuals must be logged in the appropriate discord channel.
4. Players are NOT permitted on the Senate Commando whitelist if Chancellor Palpatine or Mas Amedda are not online.
5. Abusing your responsibilities as a Senate Commando will result in a permanent blacklist.

• You must NOT use perma-weapons whilst playing as a Senate Commando.

1. Maximum health: 300
2. Maximum armor: 200

• Bodygrouper rules:

1. Do not look stupid.
2. Do not equip the jet-pack bodygroupers.

•  Senate Commandos cannot AOS, but can instead RAOS.

"So how do I become a Senate Commando?"

Palpatine and Mas Amedda will assign you as a Senate Commando for the length of time that they require you. CG get priority but officer + / trusted individuals will also be assigned as a Senate Commando to ensure that we are constantly promoting roleplay.

This will be a situational thing, just because you are assigned as a Senate Commando once does not mean you are permitted to play on the whitelist whenever you choose.

"What about the Senator Discord?

We are revamping the discord, you will be allowed to join it again once it is complete.

"What do we do if a Senator is acting stupid?"

A reports form will be released when we release the discord. 

"What are your plans as Palpatine?"

• Active High Command.
• Active BCMD's.
• Active Senators.
• Building relations between Clones & Jedi.
• Working with the Marshal Commander to encourage competition between battalions. (Ideas including Battalion v Battalion and hopefully implementing Regiment v Regiment).
• Working as a GMM to ensure that Bounty Hunters get more opportunities to roleplay + complete bounties/hits.
• Working with the Cabinet to ensure that permitted, friendly bounty hunters aren't constantly harassed upon entering the base.

"But what about Naval?"

I have great faith in those who are in leadership positions within the Navy and will be working with them aswell to ensure that they continue to progress.

I still think Palpatine is a bandaid position. 

By that I mean the only reason he is ever needed is if someone else in HC isn't doing their job as he essentially has the same authority and permissions as a Marshal Commander. 

With that said I know Freck will do a great job in this leadership position but from a roleplay perspective Palpatine is NOT a good addition to the server. I can count on my one hand the number of times the head of state of the republic left the capital (one of which was against his will). He doesn't offer any interesting stories (he is evil, and acts like a sweet old man). 

I would of much preferred adding another Marshal Commander position that Freck could have "made his own" which we could use in our events and expand the connected lore of our server, but that battle is more than lost at this point. 

Regardless of my personal feelings on the position, I am happy Freck and Wolfro will be given the opportunity to step into much deserved leadership positions.

Looking forward to see what you guys can do with senators, I think that senators are pretty good for the server if implemented properly and I'm sure you guys can reintroduce them properly.

No, you can use them as normal from what I believe. However I'll speak to wolfro and clarify a clear outcome.

If we have senate commandos protecting palp/mas amedda then they will get off the jobs for you to continue your encounter/events
