Little gameplay features like this are what can really spice up events, +1

Name: Brian Limmond RP Rank: MSG Suggestion: Add a "ping" system to the server, similar to what most modern multiplayer shooter games have. Implementation: Most of the time, there's always at least one person in an event who runs around like a headless chicken because they wandered away from their team and can't get back to them without someone taking a long time to figure out where both of them are and how to explain the route to them. If we added a simple ping system, usable by typing a command (which players could obviously bind for ease) it would make coordination and teamwork in events easily 10x smoother. It wouldn't have to be anything complex, a simple marker that shows up as part of your hud wherever the player was looking when they pinged, most likely only viewable by people in the same battalion or job group as you so that random CTs can't just spam pings that everyone can see. Definitely a neat addition, +1

Name: Brian Limmond RP Rank: MSG Suggestion: Add this mustafar map to the event server Implementation: Mustafar is a really unique aesthetic, so it's a shame we don't have it available to choose to do events on anymore. I've found a different map that, in my opinion, is an upgrade from the old one we had on the event server and focuses a lot more on fleshing out the base part of mustafar as it was originally created for TTT, though it still has outskirts and lava rivers in the map itsself you can utilize. Name: Brian Limmond RP Rank: MSG Suggestion: Add an area trigger tool that can be used by GMs on the server Implementation: This would be an extremely useful command when it came to setting a lot of people at once with things like health, weapons, models, etc. it can be used both to make initial setups of events easier and can be utilized as part of the events themselves. The triggers could be set to have a variety of functions, as previously said it could allow anyone who walks into them to be given a set weapon, health stat, model, etc. as well as some miscellaneous functions, really any command that would be useful in an event could be set to be an option when placing down an area trigger. This would likely require a bit of coding, but would definitely be a more than useful addition for GMs if implemented. Lore: N/A Workshop content if applicable: Requires Development

Bug Type (Server:): Clone wars event Severity level (1-3): 1 Evidence (if you can): This is the crash report I get if someone is able to make sense of it: https://imgur.com/a/zL4Ux94 Description of the bug: RP_Geonosis causes consistent crashes during peak server hours, it seems fine during EU but when there's a lot of people on main it will start crashing you regardless of how many people are on event server, it happens with multiple other people who've tried using it, not sure what's causing it, usually the crash happens when noclipping around the map really fast but not always, for this reason you can't viabely run events on this map anymore, it's been happening for a while since other GMs say they've had this problem for ages but I can't see it reported anywhere so not sure when it started How can we recreate it: Hop on Rp_geonosis during peak hours, wait around for a bit, start spawning dupes, fly around, etc.

Is there going to be more day long events?
Brian-Limmon replied to Unkindled's topic in Answered Questions
It was talked about at the GM meeting, and basically, as big of an undertaking as it is, plans are that hopefully it will be done more in future, though without being too frequent so the playerbase doesn't get even a bit sick of them if that makes sense. There will probably be a few of these types of events done in the lore event series if they fit the context -
That's why I suggested it only be done with staff chat and a new in character broadcast that's sole purpose is to go cross server, not just like every ooc message goes across, but only the important ones. The in character broadcast one would *definitely* add a lot of actual roleplay opportunities when it comes to doing events on the event server, and the staff chat would be a really convenient feature that lets GMs communicate with each other on the fly. I guess I can see maybe some unrelated messages cropping up in chat if people are using staff chat to talk about things on one server? But staff chat isn't really spammed so I doubt that would be an issue at all and the main feature would be the broadcast command anyway since, as I said, it adds a lot of roleplay opportunity and lets GMs more convincingly link event server deployments with the main server rather than just poking the battalions in teamspeak and saying "connect"
-
I'd imagine it just wouldn't play still, since that's what happens on other servers with their media player functioning in this way
-
+1 for blue woman +1 for giraffe woman +1 for fat man Really though, these would allow for a lot more RP to be done in the senate, obviously increasing slots would increase activity and allow there to be more of a consistent senator presence on the server than there already is, as well as the fact that these are some very interesting characters to RP as.

Name: Brian Limmond RP Rank: MSG Suggestion: Move the media player settings to being a set of options always able to be changed in the F4 menu rather than just when looking at a media player, make media players play for everyone once they start instead of people having to press E on wherever it is. Implementation: This would make setting up music for an event much easier and more accessible to players, often times if a player joins late, isn't familiar with how they work yet, or for any other reason isn't able to interact with the media player, they don't get to experience the music in an event. If it were changed so that media players will be heard regardless of whether or not you press E on them, and that this is toggleable in the F4 menu (along with the volume) more players would get to hear the music in events and it would be easier for GMs to set up on the fly. Also to be clear, I don't mean all the media player settings should be moved to the F4 menu, just the ones that players in the event have to change (Turning them on/off and changing the volume), the rest that are controled by the GM can stay with the actual media player itself (adding new tracks, skipping tracks, etc.) Lore: N/A Workshop content if applicable: Requires development

Been thinking about the weight tool recently and how useful it would be in certain situations to have on the server, but was told it was denied already. Looking at the suggestion, it was accepted then denied with just a "direct your question to the q and a section" message. I couldn't find if anyone ever asked on here, but why was it denied? Was it bugged or something? @Forseen

I obviously don't know all the ins and outs, but I know other servers have implemented it. It could be something that might not be possible on ours though, as I have heard that certain specific features are only possible with some kind of specific server settings that I guess we might not have. It could be cool to look into but like I said I'm no expert so if you know it can't can't done that's a shame ig but it is what it is

Name: Brian Limmond RP Rank: MSG Suggestion: Make staff chat appear across both servers + add a "long range broadcast" chat command that has the same effect as advert but appears on both servers Implementation: Having staff chat appear across both servers would mainly help in specific situations where someone on either the event or the main server has a question they want to ask about something currently going on on the opposite server, like if a GM needed to know how many players x battalion had before they deployed them to the event server. While this can be done by just looking for someone on TS to answer, this would be a much welcomed QOL change to save you hopping back and forth in ts if you need to keep asking these types of questions. As for the long range Broadcast command, this would, in my opinion, have the potential to heighten rp greatly when it comes to connecting an event server deployment to whatever is happening on main. Rather than just telling a battalion to connect over in an ooc chat like teamspeak, GMs could have an EJ give some in character information to the forces on the main server, allowing them to prepare RP wise for their deployment, getting ready in the hangar bay, etc. before taking off and heading onto the event server. It would also allow for the potential to have events on the event server and the main server be linked should enough GMs be willing to coordinate it. Information can be transferred directly from the event server to the main in character as the events unfold. I personally believe that having the opportunity to heighten RP in these specific ways would be a great addition. Lore: N/A Workshop content if applicable: Requires development

Name: Brian Limmond RP Rank: MSG Suggestion: Have all props automatically be nocolided with other props. Implementation: G protect can be really annoying at times I'm sure we all know, but if it is necessary to prevent laggy situations then there's not much that can be done about that outside of a completely unique change like this one. Just to be clear, this suggestion is for props to be automatically nocolided *with each other only*, so they would still colide with the world, players, entities, etc. by default. While there are certain situations where props would have to nocolide with each other, they are extremely specific and the benefits of this change (getting rid of g protect, making it a lot easier while building, allowing for certain welded dupes to be built that cant currently) far outweigh those. Lore: N/A Workshop content if applicable: Requires Development

Bug Type (Server:): Main Severity level (1-3): 1 Evidence (if you can): https://streamable.com/xdf3st Description of the bug: Sometimes certain halo props will bug out on main and will have their collision completely removed. NPCs can shoot through them and you cannot use the physgun or toolgun on them. This happens when spawning them in both from the Q menu and from dupes. When it does happen, it persists for presumabely until server restart and can't be fixed before then. Not too sure how common this is but other GMs have reported it happening to them with different halo props on main too. How can we recreate it: Spawn in a Halo prop and it randomly breaks it
-
Name: Brian Limmond RP Rank: MSG Suggestion: Disable the ability for props to go through witcher gates, making them useable by players only. Implementation: Given the fact that the MAIN cause of witcher gate lag stems from props getting stuck in the cycle of repeatedly going out and in a portal and that I can't think of any practical situation where a GM would need to use witcher gates to transport a prop, this change just makes sense. Removing this major cause for their lag would even allow us to realistically unrestrict them on the main server, since players cause nowhere near the same levels of lag and it would be a very reasonable change at that point. Lore: N/A Workshop content if applicable: Requires Development

Name: Brian Limmond RP Rank: MSG Suggestion: Add a setdamage command for NPCs that can be utilized by SA+ on the server (+ a sethealth command for NPCs, reason explained below) Implementation: This is mainly useful for the NPCs with unique AI that don't utilize traditional weapons; NPCs like the antlions, manhacks, turrets, etc. all can't be adjusted in any way other than setting their health. While setting their health is obviously a very useful tool when it comes to properly balancing an event, it isn't ideal as the only stat able to be adjusted and leads to most events containing any of these NPCs feeling very samey in terms of their difficulty. There's never any variety in NPCs in general in terms of having high/low hp vs high/low damage. Adding the command would be a very simple yet very useful addition that definitely couldn't hurt. This command would also allow the spawning of NPC dupes on the server. These are dupes which can be created in singleplayer using the parenting tool, then pasted onto the event server to create some truly unique NPCs. An example of what I mean by these is shown below: You can give combine NPCs a star wars reskin, creating NPCs like spider droids, droid gunships, grounded vulture droids and buzzdroids: https://streamable.com/z60wxm These NPCs *can* currently be spawned on the event server, but their stats cannot be set, including their health since they are not spawned with the NPC spawner advanced tool, this is where adding the npc health command would come in useful. Again, a very simple addition that would be very useful in allowing the GMs to spice up the relatively generic NPC combat we have on the server right now. Also just to clarify because I realise it doesn't say in the actual post, I'm suggesting this be added as an event server map rather than an actual replacement for the main server one
-
Name: Brian Limmond RP Rank: MSG Suggestion: Add the map linked down below Implementation: Although the base section is an anaxes reskin, the main appeal of having this on the server is for the Felucia aesthetic, one that is iconic to the clone wars, extremely visually interesting and unique as well as something we don't really have anything close to in our current map roster, adding this map would fill said gap in our map selection. In terms of the drawbacks of it being an anaxes reskin, the layout of the surrounding wilderness has been altered slightly so people wouldn't be able to jump in and instantly know where to go all the time, as well as the interior of the base having slight but significant changes in layout that also separate it from the base anaxes slightly. The map can also double up in utility with the fact that it still has the default anaxes jedi temple, one that is much larger and nose detailed than the one we have on the server right now so theoretically this could be seen as being 2 maps in one when considering any events that would require a dedicated coruscant jedi temple for RP purposes. Lore: It's felucia. Workshop content if applicable: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2360006866

This would be mainly an event server feature

+1, it definitely couldn't hurt to have at least 1 phase 1 CT model, would be very useful for events
