Term limits were introduced originally due to a BCMD that was also a HA and while he wasn’t active on his BCMD he did a lot of back end HA work and the battalion loved him. The only way to get rid of a BCMD back then was to report them and anytime someone in the battalion would they would receive major backlash. So they implemented 2 month term limits for BCMD and 3 months for everything higher. That was the system for a while and at some point leadership decided deferent term lengths was dumb so they were all standardized to 3 month limits. 1
