Suggestion - Community Meetings

Hey all,

This is a suggestion (was told to post here for public feedback).

Instead of doing community meetings we instead have a comprehensive forum post that outlines the changes / updates that will be discussed. Rationale being that many people have things to do and cannot arrange to be free for that time, and would like to hear the updates directly instead of second hand. 

This will also help with transparency as instead of the "Telephone game effect" happening with the founders/ high staff's words instead the intention and purpose will be outlined directly on the forum post. Any questions will be posted in the thread (wasting less time) and if someone needs to discuss something in private they can do so in TS3 / DMs as usual. 

If we cannot remove community meetings, or we think it is necessary instead we could do a hybrid with a community meeting, as well as a forum post which will hit both the old and new methods. It also seems more profeessional as we continue to strive for a larger interconnected community,

Honestly, Updates on the forums make's things more streamlined and sometimes not everyone can make community meetings. Plus it's more convient to read what someone says so that people can accurately quote it for reference later as opposed to hearing someone talk on TS and it get dissembled down the road. I think forums would be better for community based updates,we can comment on them and the founders can read and respond.

Community meetings are a important thing to have much better speaking it than typeing. I personally like to hear it more than looking at ascreen and reading it

I wouldn't mind having both but I want to continue the in person teamspeak ones.

How about just record community meetings and post it as an announcement? Then anyone who wasn't at the meeting can hear what happen directly from the founders.

No. 

No one likes listening to recordings of meetings. Notes are concise and cut through the riff raff.

If you want to listen to a 1 hour recording for 5 bits of key info a few other tid bits, be my guest. But, I doubt anyone else would want to.

Just to clarify, I'm not arguing for or against cause I don't really care however, if it's a recording then you can just skip through most of the bits you find unimportant and you can't do that with a live listening. (Not to mention when they have Community meetings in TS everyone gets pulled and forced to stay in the channel)

Just my 2 cents.
