  1. I work in IT as a Level 2 Desktop Support Engineer, this is kind of what my job basically is. I don't claim to know everything, not too in-depth with the current gaming part industry, but I know some stuff that can help. In priority: 0: COMPATIBILITY. DON'T GET I9 CPU WITH 3060 NVIDIA TO FIND THEY AREN'T COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR MOTHERBOARD OR CASE! Always double check. Do your research. An easy way is building on pcpartpicker.com , though still make sure everything works with each other (chipset, PCI slots, size, screw slots, etc.) 1. Upgrade GPU first - that's your biggest bottleneck atm. Sadly the market is beyond messed up prices wise (inflation/high demand with low supply/COVID economy impact). Right now is actually the worst time to build/upgrade. I'd highly recommend you wait until Oct - Dec 2021 for sales/supply to come back up. Black Friday/Cyber Monday is key for bang for your buck. I can't give any exact recommendations as Ryzen/Nvidia might come out with new stuff by then. Depending on your budget, I'd look at RTX 2060 or Radeon 5600XT (Sapphire Pulse if you can get that). They're in the ~$300-400 range atm, but once prices drop (especially during sales) you should be looking at a big upgrade for just ~$200 in a years time. 2. Ryze 5 is good, but the 1600 series is low benchmarks at this point. Highly recommend the Ryzen 5 5600x, beautiful CPU. Though like I said, there might be something new or a big price drop with something that changes that. Just wait. 3. Upgrade that PSU to around 750-800. Gold proficiency if you can. With higher tier parts, you need more power - always best to be over than under. Corsair is good. STAY AWAY FROM SEASONIC. 4. You'll eventually want to upgrade the motherboard, especially if you're getting anything like the 3060 Nvidia series or higher. Any of the new stuff out right now. Something like a B550 Mobo. 5. 16GB RAM is still good, you really don't need anymore unless you're planning to do some studio editting or streaming with max quality. Tbh you can keep the RAM, but eventually you'll be looking out for the DDR4/DDR5 3200+ stuff. 6. You'll probably need to find a Mid-tower case to fit your parts + better airflow. Most cases are fine, just take into account the fans that come with the case and the airflow of them. As well, of course, compatibility with your parts. 7. Take storage into consideration. You're going to need more space. SSD is king over HDD, though HDD is cheaper storage. SSD will eventually take over, just so many more benefits. You can probably chill on 1TB SSD storage np depending on what you're doing. You can go for a drive, or you can go for M.2/NVMe slots. They can be a bit more expensive, especially NVMe SSDs, but they'll give you slightly better performance and some small benefits. I'd go with a drive because I'm old fashion, though all the current PC builders swear by M.2/NVMe now. tl;dr - WAIT FOR PRICES TO DROP / BETTER PARTS TO COME OUT. GPU > CPU > PSU > MOBO > CASE > STORAGE (SSDs are a must - at least for you boot drive / important files - less risk of losing!) > RAM (you already have 16GB 3000, really don't need new ones for awhile). HMU if you want to know anymore.
  2. Pog, I actually might go down the military route due to IT but it depends. Welcome back to home gaming gamer
  3. So are you back from Locker gaming or are you still barrack bunk closet gaming?
  4. I just received the news. Sat here for 20 minutes in disbelief that Korm would be gone just like that - as he always was with the community and did his best to improve it. My stomach is sick. I knew Korm from the beginning of Synergy. He was one of the OG Nulls to me (and a lot of us). I still have pictures of the NULL drill training events he had for the server, some of the most memorable (and toughest) events I've been in. At the end of the drills, he'd gather us in this room and give his feedback on every battalion's performance. He wanted us to get better and improve as a server with our combat/leadership skills. Korm gave a lot to the community. Kindness, improvements, regulations, chances, content, intel, and more. Even throughout the years when the server was in a rough spot and everyone had the attitude of "Synergy is dying", this man would never utter those words. He would maintain his positive attitude and try to help EVERYONE to make the server a better place. Despite his hardships in life, he got on to help the next player like it was his duty to serve this community. I can't fathom it. Korm helped me with a ton of shit man. He helped me become a Sentinel Manager for the Jedi Order. He helped me when I became the 1st 212th Gregor, when SOBDE and 212th were at each others' necks. He helped me and 212th create/run Foxtrot tryouts. He helped me with a lot of roleplay on the server and the events. My most recent memories with Korm was before I left, I was with 104th and we worked together with Jedi and CG to help out those guys and focus on just making the server fun. We realized in amidst of 2020 - with the pandemic and life problems, we should be the guys to make the server a place people can forget their problems and have fun. We talked about our interest in the Mandalorian show on Discord and in TS. We spoke about life vaguely with the sense of just having a good time, knowing anything can happen. And sure thing, anything can happen. It was an honor Korm, I was lucky to know you. You've given more to the server than anyone can ever know. Few knew your resolve, fewer knew your pain. I reassure myself with this sadness that you are now free of these worldly pains. Good fortune and pride onto your soul as you enter heavens, Vahalla, and whatever higher being place on your surefire path. To anyone one else reading this, take advantage of Korm's beautiful life to realize anything can happen. And that while the person may be gone, they will never truly be gone - as to be truly gone is to be forgotten. As long as you hold a place in your heart and mind for them, they will always be with you. Spartans never die. Requiescat in pace. Carpe Diem. ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ‎‎ Aay'han: A bittersweet moment of mourning and joy. Like mourning the dead after winning a war. Ni su'cuyi, gar kyr'adyc, ni partayli, gar darasuum. I'm still alive, but you are dead. I remember you, so you are eternal.
  5. I knew of the dark secret arts and they had to seal it away.... IIRC it was always a founder only thing to spawn in. Zim used it for fun.
  6. Thank you for the solid work you've put into the community man, good fortune and health unto you and your journey. Best of luck. I will never forget "Zim's Music" as a Talz flew across the sky with duel-wielding double-bladed sabers on Tatoonie. Great moment of dumbfound and laughs. You ever just want to fuck an anime bitch? Me too.
  7. No offense but when the 16 year olds start talking about how they feel old for being on the server for 2-3 years I feel like a I'm old as a fucking coffin LOL
  8. Doesn't even feel like it's been 3 months already. Too bad Ahbo wasn't around for most of it, his assignments on Tatoonie got him practically on galactic house arrest on that sand rock. Duty calls, eh? Rock and roll Gears, you've always done me proud. Good man. +1
  9. *inhales* INNOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSUUKKKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
  10. Welcome to retirement club, now you can extract your revenge on when I accidently merked you on Mygeeto. I was helping build for an epic event, but you were fresh from passing SOBDE tryouts (I think it was Fixer? Atin? Something like that) and you spawned in - wrong place, wrong time. 32x32 block made short work of you. <3
  11. Mason has the support of his battalion, previous codys, and many of the server as a whole. He has what it takes. Rapport interpersonal relationships, objective driven, passionate, detail oriented, makes the game fun. I see a bit of myself in him. +1
  12. This is like when you get hired for a higher position at a new job and you put in your 2 week notice at your current job since you got something better. Jokes aside, congrats buddy and it was great having you as Rex.
  13. Oxen is a cut of the same rough cloth that was known to be the legendary 21st members from back in the day. Honestly, I simply believe 21st needs someone to step up to help it and that seems to be Oxen. Similar to Tyennoch, Oxen is the type of guy to 'do', not really the type to write out a full written step-by-step plan (like me with my Cody app, for those who remember/want to check). Action is the way of the marine. However Oxen, as a warning from one old guy to an older one, a leader must ascertain awareness and adaptability. The server is VERY different than what it use to be back in our day. Different people, different mindsets. Your attitude will not be as well received - you can't do things the old fashion way like we use to. You're going to have to learn how to adapt and develop relations on the server (both in and out of the 21st), and how to try to be 'realistic' with the way things are now. It's not easy - trust me I struggled with this when I was Cody. The game plan is going to have to be different - though don't take this as any doubt of your ability. Another note: I personally think the privacy and "If you're not 21st, I'm not doing your dirty laundry" mentality that was had back in the day won't go well anymore. If anything, from recent experience (I was in 21st for a time), it was this seclusive attitude that was a part of 21st's downfall. You must remember you are a battalion among other battalions, and to develop that reputation/staying power, you must interact with others on the server. Make people LOVE the marines from the outside. The marines need to intoxicate those around them with that same gung-ho fever that is so distinctive of 21st members. When you're leading a MARINE charge, you want your brothers behind you - not in front of you. +1.
  14. Thank you for your service. I don't know you personally. Though I'd like to talk to you about your deployment if you're open to it. It's good to reach out and just be able to talk about stuff. @Fister is another military boy I know. Take care. A warrior cannot charge on the war path without mind and body.
  15. o7 man you were one of the most down to earth people, honest, no drama, hard worker, overall stand up guy. Feel free to message me on discord to chat/chill.
  16. 6/10 - Vehicle bay / 104th/CG didn't get much action. We hacked a console to just tell us "grevious waz here" but we didn't get to see grevious nor did it seem like it had a meaningful impact. - Just FYI, some markers were difficult to see as the colors 'meshed' and mixed with the skybox/other props so it was hard to tell what it was. - Droid spawns were good. Especially when you vary the positioning (behind walls, in corners, behind cover, on the ridges/mountains, etc.) - 104TH/CG saw a decent amount of action - I'm a big guy on RP, and there didn't seem like much RP. - I know you said to not to judge based on lag, but I really didn't experience much of the event until the last 10-20mins due to it. So it makes it difficult to judge/give feedback on the action. - Mack and I were the ATTE crew that survived to the end with 7 AAT kills back to back. Give me more Betsy - Betsy ATTE RP best RP. Jagger cannot live without Betsy. Thanks for the effort and giving us an event.
  17. 10/10 you forgot me for helpers @Shockpoint Pog
  18. As if this clown thought we didn't know him, of course we know you Scribbles, you- oh shit fuck. Right. Much love man, hope to see you at your streams sometime!
  19. +1 You better do some Halo x Star Wars crossover events or I'll give you the Prophet of Regret treatment.
  20. +1 He has already been taking a bit of charge in the battalion, it's good to see someone being a leader before getting the leadership position.
  21. 8/10 really solid and great event, something like this was needed. Great event jobs/helpers, great RP, great setup. Only issue (not in your control) was the frame drops and crashes which did impede on the fun a bit. Though overall the event was a blast, would do it again 100%.
