As a practice, the development team tries to remain impartial throughout suggestion discourse to ensure that the community can engage without undue influence. However, given some of the more pointed feedback in this thread, I believe it is prudent to offer our perspectives, as other development team members have already done.
I am not opposed to introducing new groups onto the server. I concur, in part, with your goal of novelty and creativity, and I applaud your initiative. However, given the development team’s finite resources, we will often prioritize projects that have the most impact on the most people on the server. Specific changes, especially for a select few, are set aside due to the development team’s constraints. Furthermore, you must be attentive to existing rules that govern how many subunits can exist per group. You must also be diligent in your consideration of your suggestion’s impact on the server – a responsibility the development team also bears.
Concerning the suggestion discussion, I believe that passion has overwhelmed the typical cordial discourse. I can appreciate boisterous advocacy for one's suggestion, but our contributions should always be in good faith.
As others have already mentioned, the development team is filled with volunteers. There are many demands for our time, and we aren’t able to attend to everyone’s wishes. Furthermore, we do not rebuke someone simply because they dissent – but passing judgment on the server as “stale” because some weren’t as receptive to your suggestion isn’t fair to us, nor does it acknowledge the work that has already gone into the server.
Suggestions are an important tool to give players a voice directly in how the server changes and grows. Discussions on suggestions should be collective and lively, inviting agreeing and dissenting views alike. However, suggestions are simply the beginning of a lengthy and often arduous process of consideration and implementation. We appreciate your passion, and we ask for your patience.
