Father Michael
Name: Necroposting Prevention Suggestion: After a post has gone uncommented on for a certain amount of time, the topic automatically becomes locked. Or the topic must be approved before the rest of the community can see it. Why should we implement this? This will prevent Necroposting by not allowing new posts to be posted on old topics. How will this improve the Forums? This will prevent necroposting and reduce the amount of warning points given out on the server. Link to comment

Duck
^ "Hmmmm last posted on 2 months ago I think now would be a perfect time to talk about it again" It really isnt hard to not necro imo Edited January 3, 2020 by Duck 1 Report Link to comment
Father Michael
@ Carvis @Duck Im well aware that it isnt hard to just... not necro. However, why not just prevent the issue all together. Thats like me saying “Oh well I have a solution that ends all crime and this is how we can do it” and your response would be, “well just dont commit crimes”. Crimes will be committed, just like people will necropost again. If there is a way to stop it, then why not. Link to comment
BigZach
It's such a non issue, who cares? "I'm not toxic. You're just making it really hard to not treat you like an idiot." - Logic Link to comment
Retired Founder Ron Posted January 3, 2020 Retired Founder Report Share Posted January 3, 2020 Necroposting doesn't happen very often, though if it does they're just opening themselves up to forum warnings. Secondly, the amount of time spent "dealing with necroposting" wouldn't warrant any amount of effort into an automatic locking system, which in turn could be detrimental in some scenarios.
