BO and Encounters

Hey everybody!

 

So we have seen the state base ops has been in and there is going to be some changes to the side that affects the whole server.

 

So going forward this is how requesting permission to leave is going to work.

 

Base ops still control the gateway to leave the base so they are the first to respond.

If not BO online Captain+ can grant permission to leave the base (Cannot grant your own PTL)

If no Captain+ online Shock can grant PTL

(If you deny a PTL you must provide a reason or else your denial will be invalid)

 

Base Ops will now assign Battlestations fluidly.

What that means is when a Defcon 3 is called BO will call for battalions to man the walls and guard towers as well as specific areas within the base, this will require battalions to communicate when they are active so BO can move you to positions and give you action (Stationing on walls, sending out a force to take them head on, etc) (HC can also assign positions or highest rank on)

 

BO will also be focusing on the RAA, ENG, MED branches as such QM has been shut down until these other branches are stable.

 

Patrols and Outposts:

So we are again changing things to a more fluid so the players are driving the RP!

Patrols will be called out by base ops as needed as well as you can go to BO/HC to get sent out on a patrol or be stationed at an outpost if you don’t meet the rank requirements!

 

Now there seems to some confusion around what the encounter program really is so this is going to clear things up for everyone.

 

The encounter system was the solution to the VIP/separated game masters that seemed to come up constantly in the suggestions on the forums but it seems like the system is poorly understood which has lead to its underutilization.

 

Encounters give VIPs the ability to craft a story using other VIPs without needing to join the staff team.

The Encounter Program was meant to be a freeing situation without the requirement for elaborate setups that can take up to an hour or more to set up and be driven purely by people's creativity but also giving those VIPs that craved PvP against the playerbase a chance to just fuck shit up.

 

Here's an example of the two different types of encounters that could happen (This is just two ways you can make up anything as long as it doesn’t violate server rules!)

 

Passive-RP: You and your buddies decide to hop on and do some RP as encounter jobs and you pick a couple of citizens, a Mastiff and begin to RP as hunters trying to catch the mastiff chasing them around the map and waiting to see how the clones react to the shooting and stuff.

 

Shoot’em up: You see that 212th has just been authorized to go on patrol so you hop on the CIS jobs with you and your buddies as you have decided to ambush the patrol!

You wait in wait and open fire on the patrol until you have all died and you go back to your clone job.

 

These are just some basic examples of what you can do with these abilities!

 

These are the current guidelines/rules for encounters:

 

Admin+ to supervise the encounter. VIPS are driving it. (They have to TP the event jobs out of the admin room) (VIPs can request the Admins assistance or the Admin can participate in the encounter) (Admin+ get credit for doing encounters)

Any VIP can be whitelisted to any of these jobs as long as they are being watched: (Prevent rule violations)

 

Deathwatch

Bounty Hunter

Commando Droids

B2s

B1s

Wookies

Citizens

Trandos

Droids

Mastiffs

 

(If you would like to be a different job not on the list a GMO+/HA+ can approve it)

 

15 is the limit for VIPs for encounters jobs.

There can be two encounters going at the same time

1 passive and 1 shoot-em-up

If two encounters are going on they cannot be the same jobs (CIS and Mandos okay, CIS and CIS, not okay) it helps to avoid confusing the two encounters.

How to start an encounter

1. Make a ticket saying @ I want to do an encounter

2. Admin will TP you to the admin room and whitelist you to an encounter job

3. Admin will TP you outisde of the admin room so you can do your encounter

(if someone doesn't respond to a ticket they might be tabbed out so give them a poke in TS)

Hopefully, this has cleared up the encounter systems purpose and encourages you all to start using it as its completely in the hands of the VIPs what is possible

Question, so u said if 2 encounters are going on they can’t be of the same faction. So what if in the passive encounter it’s a trando farming family come to sell crops, then for the shoot em up it’s a trando pirate gang come to steal some clone fetus or something

Unfortunately, most of the time people will base hostilities off of the models the EJ are using, with that being said your poor farming family would get murdered most likely. Using the citizen job would probably be a good choice for that.

We want to keep confusion to a minimum.
