It definitely is a little odd having it tied to delta I agree, but alot of SOBDE and what makes the batt special is even though we have dedicated squads and assigned positions, we are all working together. The squads end up just helping to break down the management of them to be easier, and dont leave it to just the BCMD to make all the decisions. Being the Null jedi as Bardan @BobbyBiceps forgets about me all the time but I still interact with the batt as a whole! (This is a joke and I love bobby)
  2. They were actually pretty significant characters in the Republic Commando books. +1. Droid poppers fits their vibe and characters greatly and gives them that differentiation from the rest of SOBDEs kit.
  3. +1 for sure
  4. For Clones - Waxer, Thorn, Colt, Havoc, Hardcase, and Trauma are the big ones. For Jedi - Barriss Offee, Halsey, Even Piell, Pong Krell, Adi Gallia. Then the question of the 501st and when it lines up in the server cause there's a whole lot of death there at the end with tup and fives etc.
  5. If we were to make the arguments of "around at the same time" when looking at characters, we would need to get rid of ALOT of jobs and characters. I don't think it should be a reason to stop a character from being implemented
  6. Name: K-Vin | Kal Skirata RP Rank: MAJ Suggestion: Make Kal's model automatically scaled to 0.92 Implementation: Unsure how easy/difficult this is Lore: He was shorter than everyone else! And it's rough to ask staff every time Add or Change: Change Job: Kal Skirata Description: Model Scale of 0.92 Model: models/jayarr/null/kal.mdl
  7. Name: K-Vin | Kal Skirata RP Rank: Major Suggestion: Add Climb SWEP to select jobs. Implementation: Requires a workshop addon Lore: Climb SWEP innately is not a "Lore" thing but it is a utility item that allows the server to attain lore type of capabilities to classes without cluttering the server. - Jetpacks: There are many squads on server that could have jetpacks and would fully fit the classes lore, but for obvious reasons can not ALL be given jetpacks. Climb SWEP goes a long way in provided that for those whitelists/roles without a negative hit towards those that do have jetpacks. - Grapple Hooks/Guns: Many, Many, Many, clone troopers and commandos had and would use grapple hooks as a means to traverse so in lore this would make alot of sense. The issue with grapple guns themselves as a counter argument is the huge abuse of swinging around like spider man, or grapple hooking on to flying ships etc. Climb SWEP allows the RP capabilities of "Grappling up a wall" and can also serve the purpose of removing the option of "/me grapples up the wall" where they proceed to noclip up anyways. - ARF: This would bring a whole new life to ARF trooper/whitelists and also for any recon battalions. They are supposed to be able to gain high ground and get positions that a recon trooper or a ARF should and would be able to. The variety it can bring to the "Scouts" of the server would be huge. Workshop content if applicable: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=113495466&searchtext=climb+swep If you are asking to add or change a job, fill out the following if not, leave it out. Add or Change: This is something that would need further discussion on what classes get this as I don't believe all should, but roughly I would say any SOBDE to avoid the requirement of giving them jetpacks or grapple guns that they normally had. A lot of 41st, possibly a Green Company exclusive thing to give them another piece of kit for people to be interested in. All of the mercenaries, or some of the militia who would realistically have a jetpack but do not. Rancor in generally having a large portion of the ARF troopers could utilize it greatly as well. Description: There is a huge dynamic that Climb SWEP can provide to the server, and allow for a huge amount of creativity in how squads and battalions play, and the opportunities for events to have scouting battalions actually Scout Out prior to an event or something, without giving them all, loud, and very powerful jetpacks. - Skill: Climb SWEP is a utility item that adds a MASIVE amount of skill and practice for people to improve on. There are loads of unique techniques, and skillful ways to traverse and navigate areas using this item. It is a skill that people can turn into trainings, or entertainment for others, such as open climb SWEP courses in the CSR for people to practice and improve their form. - Tryouts/Training: Like with Skill, this item can provide and whole new portion for people to practice and test others on in their skill and proficiency with. It makes people have a reason to go and join a squad or battalion that has the item in order to practice and try to get the skills necessary for squads and positions that have difficult but attainable tests for it. - In-Game Application: Climb SWEP unlike jetpacks and grapple guns give a Unique and fun method of getting around in events but limits them from the capabilities of the others. People with climb SWEP are unable to suddenly be on a Muni or Providence like you can with jetpacks meaning that it does not take away from the huge advantage that jetpack users have while still giving that ARF like feeling and gameplay that people would look for. Events can have a wall that "Must be scaled by those ARF troopers to drop the ray shield on the other side to let the forces in!" while also having jetpacks not allowed by by the event, giving verticality variance without having jetpacks fly right over everything. - Enforcement: Like anything on the server, there needs to be rules when something like this is added. There are very obvious ones that can be enforced by CG or Staff such as no climb SWEP on base, or no wall grabbing on to someone's head, or stuff like that, but other than that there are not many "Exploits" or "Abuses" for climb SWEP that can not be covered with a simple, Climb SWEP abuse is strictly not allowed. Two that come to mind if any to make it transparent and clear of what people CAN do with it is "Super Jumping" which is the climb SWEP rolling followed by Bhopping, or "Climb SWEP flying" Which is an abuse using ceilings with the item. Closing Statement: I have spent many hours practicing and honing skills with Climb SWEP and think it is an overall positive for the server to provide uniqueness to roles, and a new way of enjoying the servers gameplay. I understand this is a significant change but I implore you to think of the unique capabilities and enjoyment that it can bring to the server. I am happy to explain and go more in depth about this with anyone who asks!
  8. Question: Why are players no longer allowed to ask for temp perms for the sake of building? Comments/Concerns: I’ve always been a big fan of building dupes, and sims to be able to host and make unique situations and events for my squads and I have no issue with building outside of the server for the majority of this but there is a problem with that. The most important one. There is no addon list, and many items are not available on the community workshop to be able to work with them outside of the server. Props and physics work very differently on a server than in single player, and without testing the builds and props in game you may end up making things a laggy mess. We do not have access to the map on the workshop meaning that building within the confines of the sim rooms or build areas is not possible without guessing, and some sims utilize the entire room. I am of the strong mindset that if this change was made due to the mistakes or or misuse of a few, then that is an unfair punishment of all others that have respected the permissions and utilize it regularly. I think the thing that should change is the strict enforcement and oversight of these permissions and simply blacklisting those who are unwilling to cooperate. It was a frustrating thing to encounter when the change was suddenly made without notice. Staff Member you're asking: Additional info:
