Server Update: Cleaning Up

Hey dudes. So similar to Clone 99, I may be different and not impact the server the same way our other founders, players or staff do. But Clone Wars is what I was bred for. As such, with my recent return to playing as a user, I have noticed a ton of issues that I aim to change as I get time. Ya dude still works full time. Hopefully these changes will only do good for the server and community. In the long term these changes should make quite an impact. Anyways, onto the update!

- Cleaned up a HUGE Amount of Uneeded Content
- Removed multiple GBs of Duplicate & Unused / Needed Content

Probably more, but we forgot. Also please ensure to thank @Square & @Jackson for their assistance in the update. They made the actual update log for me to use for reference too.

Guide to Remove Content:
Please ensure you wipe your old content if you are experiencing errors. This process has changed, as Gmod has updated how the save files to your addons.

Please ensure you unsubscribe from all your addons prior to this. Otherwise this process is useless and I cannot help you.
Ask a staff member if you need assistance in this.

Step 1: Navigate to Steam/SteamApps/Common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/addons
Step 2: Select ALL files within this folder and press "DELETE"
Step 3: Navigate to Steam/SteamApps/Common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/cache/workshop
Step 4: Select ALL .gma files (leave the resources folder) and press "DELETE"
Step 5: Navigate to Steam/SteamApps/Common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/cache/lua
Step 6: Select ALL files within this folder and press "DELETE"
Step 7: Navigate to Steam/SteamApps/Common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/download
Step 8: You guessed it, select ALL files within and press "DELETE"
Step 9: One last time, navigate to Steam/SteamApps/Common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/downloadlist
Step 10: Select ALL files within and press "DELETE"

Please note, if you have any personal save data from addons, you may lose it in doing this. If your game won't boot after this, please ensure you validate your files. I am not responsible for you deleting anything you shouldn't have.

@ZimTwo questions: 

1st: What do you mean you guys fixed the 212th ARC salary, increased or decreased?

2nd: What time will the update release? I don't wanna have to delete a bunch of stuff and go through the process you've made for us to do immediately, so would I still have time to do it all in the morning?

@Zimviv brought it up with gears and asked you about it awhile ago, just used them earlier today to verify and they still hit for 400. And with such a high number it's hard to use during trials and events. @XGears Im pretty sure I talked to him about it can't entirely remember

Nice to see the new models being updated for Operative, Medical, Engineer and Officer! 

 

Not sure if you're gonna increase the slots for naval command (it's currently on 1) as that'll be our commodore+ job! 

 

If anything I can go over everything with you later today to ensure nothing gets left out haha

Thank you for this Zim. It’s really nice to see Founders / developers (idk what to call you, but founder seems right to me) come on the server, experience what the players are experiencing and then proceeding to do something about it. Getting these updates out is a big deal for some battalions or player groups who just want quality of life changes. 

I don’t think the community can express their gratitude enough rn.

@ZimSorry to bother you again, but just one more question: For step 4 (just for clarification by the way), we have to delete anything that ends with ".gma", and those folders that have them have a bunch of random numbers that ends with ".gma", right?

No, just the gma files in GarrysMod/garrysmod/cache/workshop is what step 4 is referring to.

No, you're correct. The files should look like so.
I would recommend waiting to do this till tonights update though.

You'd wanna delete them if they're in that folder. The reason why he's being specific is because you're NOT supposed to delete the Resources folder.

If I just unscribed from the content packs would that also work or do you need to delete the files aswell?

0.03 and 0.025 is the radius that the shots make so the smaller the radius the more accurate it is
