I'm going to have to be really thorough for this one because there were both excellent, and extremely annoying things that happened in this event. First, I want to start with NPC placement. During this event I was actively working on my clone w/ the 41st and I never actually saw any NPCs spawned, they just happened to be there when I would open a door. This is incredibly important for immersion and RP so 10/10 on that. However, we did have some issues with event jobs. Let me explain to you what happened. Myself and another 41st heard in open comms that Cad Bane was in the Chancellors Office, our logical response was to hide on the DB balcony and wait for someone to slip and come out. A "CT" comes out and we proceed to strip him of his weapons and comms, logical right? Obviously Cad Bane announced in open comms that he was in the office, and no one else could come through, therefore, anyone that comes out, probably some is fishy about them. So we get the "CT" commando droid to actually comply, and then all of a sudden Cad Bane and another commando droid come storming out of the chancellors office to rescue the other droid, who is also firing on us, after his weapons were stripped. This is both metagaming (his weapons and comms were stripped, therefore how would Cad Bane and the other Commando droid know we had captured him?) and failRP, his weapons were stripped and he could not have began firing on us. We were too busy trying to tell him to stop failRPing that the other commando droid just killed both of us. So on that note, 0/10 for event jobs.

Man if I got feedback like this on my events I'd pop champagne

First, thanks for taking the time -- this really helps us game masters. Now I didn't make this event or participate in any way, but from an outside perspective a few things come to mind:

1. Who was the event job (this is more for tyennoch to privately handle as it could be miscommunication or something else)

2. Was it made clear it was open comms? Was it /comms [OC] I'm in chancellor's office, or was it /advert I'm in chancellor's office?
The new (not so new, but done sometime within the past year) rules for comms is that, unless it's specifically signaled/distinguished that the comms is open ( w/ [OC]), then comms are suppose to be presumed closed. If it was an /advert WITHOUT [OC] before the message, technically it's not open comms. However, the counter argument is that /adverts are by default "open comms" since they are treated as PA (public announcement) systems.

3. It feels like if the game master knew what was going on (again, miscommunication between event jobs and game master seem apparent here), they could have simply instead walked out, thinking they were safe until they find two clones and engage in some conversational RP. Instead of guns blazing, they could have been like "What? Impossible! How did the clones find us already? They must be listening into our comms!" Then wait to have the clones say stuff like "You're under arrest, stand down!"

Not even encounter needs to start/end with gunfire. Just my 2 cents.

Not exactly sure who it was, honestly was too irritated to be bothered with going through all the channels just to say something.

I am very sure it was open comms. However, regardless this just goes to show you how confusing things can be through IC Comms because of this rule. It was made clear through what Cad Bane said that he was addressing the base as a whole, and happened to be in BCC. Therefore, I am assuming he was using the Base PA system. That being said, I'm not sure if it was the GMs call to have them run out and gun us down for attempting to capture the droid for an upper hand. But regardless, them doing that ruined the RP for the remaining 41st that I was with. This is a fantastic example of how events don't always go your way, there are going to be players (like myself) who outsmart the event jobs and GMs and find ways around things.

Again, while 2LT Noe and I were trying to explain to him that we had captured him, stripped him of his weapons and comms, he proceeds to break RP and call down the two other jobs, then when they come down he pulls out his gun again and starts shooting. Now, like I said above, we already know Cryo was Cad Bade, so the Commando Droid who failRPed would have to have been one of the other 4 helpers. Now I would like to hope that the GM isn't the one who decided just because we outsmarted him that breaking RP and sending the EJs down to kill us as punishment, but I wasn't in that channel, so I cannot speak to how it went down.
