Ya, so we tested the E-11D, it takes 3.2 Seconds to kil someone. Compared to the DC-15A which is 4.1-3. About 1 second faster.

So it's relevantly balanced. We didn't see a point, I had 8 testers with me.

 

Knife will do 850 Dmg. and to be fair, that knife is a bitch to hit when someone is running.

Does this mean that even if an HA build a dupe that is 250 props, that if an SA or VA have that dupe, they won't be able to put it down?

If so this sucks big weiner for SOBDE Tryouts

If anything I think it would make more sense to give the Regimentals more pay, but you'd also have to edit pays above it, so pay would look like this;
General - 1,000 credits
Marshal Commander - 950 credits
Senior Commander - 900 credits
Regimental Commander - 850 credits
Squad Lead - 800 credits
Squad Member - 750 credits

Go to your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod and delete both that addons, and the sound folder, then re-launch garrys mod and let it do it's magic.

If there is no sound folder, then delete the garrysmod_dir.vpk file in your garrysmod folder. I highlight this red because this is a last resort thing, because this contains all the information gmod needs. Once you delete it, verify your game files.

If you do not know how to verify your game files

  1. Go to your steam game library
  2. Right click on garrys mod
  3. Click on properties
  4. Go to local files tab
  5. Verify integrity of game files

Let me know if this fixes your issues.

Any more issues are likely cause to:

  • Another conflicting addon
  • Corrupt gmod (requires complete reinstall)
  • File downloads incorrectly (for this, contact me on teamspeak or something and I will give you any further steps)

I'd recommend following my guide of deleting all addons / downloads you probably have a conflicting file, make sure to unsub from everything.

Why would squad members and leads get payed more than BCMDs and high ranking republic officers?

Not sure when, again I'm just curious. I'm just thinking that squad leads and BCMDs should have the same. And squad members should have the same as battalion officers

There is a suggestion up that would make BCMD and Squad Lead equal pay at 800. This was accepted on Wednesday by Joah, just realized.

Squad Members have always been payed more than Battalion Officers for as long as I can remember(or at least since we stopped using 50c for everyone back when the server first started)

I'm not sure what every Battalion has their members go through to become Officers, but I can assure you that most if not all of them are not as difficult or as tedious as going through any of the SOBDE tryouts. Becoming a Squad Member of SOBDE is way more than just doing some requirements and getting a promotion. You have to really work your ass off to earn a spot in SOBDE, and you have to work your ass off to keep it as well. Whether or not you think the work that people put in to become SOBDE justifies the paycheck they get relative to what other Officers get is something I don't think anyone will be able to convince someone of if they already don't like it.

So going through one tryout is more difficult than spending upwards of 3 months to earn an officer spot? And what do SOBDE do in relation to the rest of the server that cements them to be treated differently than everybody else in the aspects of respect? 

As you said, you do not know what members do in battalions to become officers. SOBDE is completely separated from the operating process that a battalion has. I do not claim to know what SOBDE tryouts are because I've never had the desire to go through them. All I'm saying is that everybody be treated equally rather than people believing that they are better than each other. And what does SOBDE do that forces them to work their ass off to stay in a squad?

Again, I don't mean this to be hateful, I'm simply curious as I've never really had good experiences with SOBDE in relation to my battalion. And I'd like to change that so I can learn about SOBDE so I'm more informed.

From my personal experience with working my way up through a Battalion(Galactic Marine specifically) and being involved with SOBDE as long as I have been, I would say yes to your first question. Especially considering the amount of people that fail on the simplest things in our tryouts. Most of the time people don't even make it past faces and formations. But everyone has their own view and opinions on things, and I can understand why some people would feel differently than I do.

As far as the respect thing, I don't know where this came from. I never said that SOBDE members should be more respected than anyone else. I think I would do a terrible job as a BCMD for a normal Battalion. Too many people to manage and keep track of. I have as much respect for people like Rex and Bacara as I do for people like Boss and Niner.

Typically, people inside SOBDE pride themselves on being above-average with most things, and that is a by-product of the difficulty of the tryouts. There are very few, if any cases of someone passing the tryouts and not being at least decent with PVP, Leadership, and well above average RP skills. That does not mean that there are not members within Battalions that excel at these areas, but there is a higher concentration of them within SOBDE.

SOBDE members are required to work with their Outreaches pretty frequently. Lately, we've been a little lax because of all the changes happening, having to alter or remake the tryouts every other day for various reasons. We've had to remove a fair number of people recently for either not allotting their time properly to their SOBDE job or failing to stay true to the standards that we hold ourselves to. Within the past month or so we've had to remove 4 or 5 people for a variety of reasons.  The tiniest slip ups can get you removed so you have to be on your best behavior most of the time. Again, this doesn't mean that other Battalions don't hold their members to high standards, but I've seen some members of Battalions that have done things that would get them removed from an SOBDE position on the spot.

Again I didn't mean the respect thing as a slight towards you or to target it specifically, but in many past iterations of SOBDE toxicity has been a prevalent issue. I will admit that the SOBDE now has improved dramatically following the removal of members. And prior to its removal the work put out by SOBDE was lackluster, with Bad Batch specifically I've never seen any problems with it. You guys are one of the shining examples of what SOBDE squads should be, but if all members modeled themselves after your work I believe that SOBDE could strive on the server. I'm glad to see that discipline is being carried out consistently as you mentioned that members were removed, but there has to be a defining standard as to who should be able to join an SOBDE squad and through consistent evaluation all members could reach that shining standard of "Elite".
